So many good things about it, I may have to watch again. Loved the ref to a David Walliams tweet re the crap cross dressing football bloke.

The80sweregreat · 26/09/2017 13:20

The voiceover is priceless in this show.

RhiannonOHara · 26/09/2017 15:20

'The Department for Culture, Media and for some reason also Sport'. Grin

Reminds me, the new DCMS Scottish woman was very funny, and Chloe and Zoe.

The80sweregreat · 26/09/2017 15:53

YesVeryGoodVeryStrong · 26/09/2017 17:49

I rewatched some of series 2 the other day. I'd forgotten that Will was only supposed to be there on his internship for 8 weeks and stayed for 11 months and no one noticed Grin

will is very sweet - when he said that his sister knew Wilfred jo songa, the tennis star, their jaws dropped.

Bohemond · 26/09/2017 18:05

The actor that plays Will was also Fleabag's boyfriend.

The80sweregreat · 26/09/2017 18:11

really? he was in that? i watched Fleabag and didnt remember him at all.

The80sweregreat · 26/09/2017 18:42

I'm not being funny or anything, but episode one made me laugh. Its a little gem. Yeah.

YesVeryGoodVeryStrong · 26/09/2017 18:46

Oh yes he was great in fleabag.

I hope something happens with Ian/Lucy or they stop it completely, I feel like every episode ends up with them being a tiny bit flirty but then this series Anna has always turned up so Lucy leaves. It's getting a bit repetitive!

OP posts:
The80sweregreat · 26/09/2017 18:55

yes, i hope that lucy manages to get Ian alone without Anna creeping around. she is even scaring me.

RhiannonOHara · 27/09/2017 09:55

I've already said this but last series ended with Anna and Ian going to dinner, so this 'triangle' hasn't just started this series.

The80sweregreat · 27/09/2017 10:04

ahh, i didnt know that about Anna, no wonder she is giving lucy evil looks.
Siobhan is brilliant and i liked the cross dressing presenter too, he was funny.
My favourite is the welsh lady though.

Walnutwhiplash · 27/09/2017 11:23

Love the voiceover in the hotel scenes. 'Quiet nuts'Grin

The80sweregreat · 27/09/2017 11:29

They could have all stayed at home and watched that match of the day on the tele along with everyone else. they didnt really need to be there.
makes me wonder how much money they waste in these big corporations/

Tinycitrus · 27/09/2017 11:32

DP and I struggle to watch this as it's a little bit close to home. Cringe Smile

The80sweregreat · 27/09/2017 11:36

I can imagine that all this management speak is just rife in the media industry. My dh is an engineer for a big company and he said its not too bad there - they tend to be a more normal in meetings.
it is the ones who do this though that seem to get on and become really high up, so maybe he is doing it all wrong!

ShotsFired · 27/09/2017 11:47

@Tinycitrus (I am not stalking you today honest!)
DP and I struggle to watch this as it's a little bit close to home. Cringe smile

Similarly, I watch Silicon Valley* from behind my hands as feel like I am living that most days.

(* Another hugely under-rated show)

Tinycitrus · 27/09/2017 14:44

Grin I know. The 'meetings' in W1A are so well observed. It's all so awful but credible too. DP can only cope with one episode at a time.

YesVeryGoodVeryStrong · 27/09/2017 15:12

Ahh yes Rhiannon I'd forgotten that Anna was involved last series too. Just bloody ask her out Ian!!

Yes loved Tracy in the previous episode. "Clive said something about having to talk those up their arse upper management types in London. I'd like to say that those were his words not mine." but you still said them Tracy! Grin

The80sweregreat · 27/09/2017 15:15

So many managers, not quite sure what they all do though ( which is the point, i do know this..)
dh said its the same in his place.

CanIBuffalo · 27/09/2017 21:09

I was delighted to hear that DH's workplace has both a Head of Transformation and also, inexplicably, a Head of Change Grin

ShesNoNormanPace · 27/09/2017 21:11

CanI so Transformation is not Change? And Change is not Transformation. My cheese has definitely been moved Grin

tribpot · 27/09/2017 21:20

I love the oneupmanship about who last spoke to Tony. And in general I adore Simon 'Yes very good, very strong' Harwood - I love his laconic 'well, you'll know better than me how you want to handle this .. ' absolutely classic Teflon shouldering, usually on to Ian.

Anna kissed Ian in the loo, have we covered this? And I think Lucy fancies him as well, although I cannot imagine why.

Shame they haven't had any of the Downton cast on, that'd be funny. But the cameos generally are excellent.

I've worried so far this series that it might be getting a bit close to parodying itself. Have we had too many meetings which consist of everyone saying their catchphrases to each other? The series is longer than previous ones, though, so they may be setting the storylines up a bit slower.
