Is anyone else a fan?

I've namechanged in honour of it Grin

did you spot them swapping their gifts over too? lol

The80sweregreat · 18/10/2017 06:24

Anna is completely bonkers.

sickofsocalledexperts · 18/10/2017 19:02

The Call the Midwife mugs as gifts almost brought a tear to my cynical old eye!

MrsJamin · 18/10/2017 20:12

I knew they'd have to swap the mugs over! It was all left very open wasn't it?

Optimist1 · 18/10/2017 20:35

There's one more episode to come, MrsJ !

MrsJamin · 18/10/2017 20:44

Oh are there 7 episodes in a series then?!

YesVeryGoodVeryStrong · 18/10/2017 20:46

I'm fairly sure there's just 6. The last one is already up on iPlayer though.

I just wonder how Anna managed to get the job at Amazon. What would she be like in a job interview? How did she ever get promoted so much to be Head of Better and in charge of More for Less.

I love David Tennant's narration.

OytheBumbler · 18/10/2017 22:10

Do we know why Anna fainted the first time in the taxi?

ShoesHaveSouls · 18/10/2017 22:26

I loved ep6.

In my head, Ian got together with Lovely Lucy, and Will got with lovely Izzy Smile Loved it when Izzy just lost it with smug horrible man.

Are they doing another series?

MissFitton · 18/10/2017 22:30

Have loved this series. Many high points including David Tennant's narration putting Tony Hall in the TARDIS.
Torn between hoping for a next series and thinking they should just leave it there.
Not being funny or anything but probably need a meeting in Mary Berry to decide.

The80sweregreat · 19/10/2017 05:58

A Spoiler about episode 6 ( which is on i player and not shown till monday night on TV)
....................................................................................................................

I thought it was a bit OTT for Izzy to hit the other guy for saying what he said about Will - not nice, but not really bad either - i can see why she was upset, but going around hitting people isnt on! Will did save her bacon. Go Will!
Been a great little series. Not sure what Anna's problem was re the fainting, she obviously wanted Ian to be her man i guess, but he wasnt playing ( good for Ian)

LatinforTelly · 21/10/2017 12:18

Just watched most of these on catch-up as I hadn't realised a new series had started. (Why don't they publicise it more?!)

Watched it with a permanent smile on my face as it is so reminiscent of one of my workplaces.

The portrayal of Will is magnificent and heartbreaking - that actor is so clever with his very few lines and facial expressions.

I love the Yes No Very Good man too - his permasmirk and laziness.

Also love Tracey, 'musically-speaking, it was Vaughan Williams' GrinGrin

BoreOfWhabylon · 21/10/2017 12:27

That's it isn't it? Every character, every line just perfectly crafted.

furlinedsheepskinjacket · 21/10/2017 14:56

the yes/no man is fab isn't he - always just 1 second or so behind to ensure he is gauging the room - or so he thinks

i cry at the bikes - too funny

NotAgainYoda · 22/10/2017 15:28

DH works with the YesNoVeryGood man, although it's a woman. Pretends to not know anything about how anything works - gets everyone else to do her job

FurryGiraffe · 22/10/2017 15:34

DH did some filming for the BBC a few months ago and said the production assistant was exactly like Will. DH never did discover his real name Grin

The80sweregreat · 22/10/2017 17:32

Dh works for a huge car company and he said ' more for less ' is pretty much the buzz word for them. They are all at it.

YesVeryGoodVeryStrong · 22/10/2017 18:32

Furry I read once that a female MP calls all parliamentary assistants/researchers (not sure of the right term) Tom or Will and says that she's right pretty much all of the time Grin

Is it awful that I may have a little crush on Ian Fletcher? He's just so.... capable, swooping in and giving impromptu non-twatty speeches and saving the day and such.

Tigresswoods · 23/10/2017 22:45

Oh yes, big crush here too. You’ve put it exactly right, he so capable!

LaContessaDiPlump · 23/10/2017 22:45

I've now read the thread and realise I will be considered a bit weird.

Don't care Grin

LaContessaDiPlump · 23/10/2017 22:46

I SAW HIM FIRST

Wink
stonecircle · 23/10/2017 22:47

I love W1A but this series definitely peaked with Anna walking into the glass wall and her subsequent, “you can take that skirt off I don’t need it” comments. Impossible to follow that!

I’m practicing being more self-assertive by saying, “no. I don’t want that” more often ...

stonecircle · 23/10/2017 22:49

Tigress and LaContessa - you’ll have to get past Anna and Lovely Lucy first!
