Why is Mick such a stupid dick? Driving off wth Fi without telling L. That won't end well.
I like Jane as wheelchair detective - Ironside? She too is taking a big risk.
How come Phil gets blown backwards by a blast yet there's not a mark on his face?
Where are Louise's scars - I thought she was going to spend months in hospital with skin grafts etc?
Perhaps the Vic should have a fund-raiser for a few shots of Botox in Linda's vertical frown lines (it works, trust me). But those creases are the only part of her that can act.
Sonia gives me the creeps - ogling teacher's bum!

MrsBotox · 05/09/2017 08:30

I saw a trailer where an ambulance gets blow up - so more fun to come.

LineysRun · 05/09/2017 08:40

Is it on tonight?

AGnu · 05/09/2017 09:06

Why was it that the crowd listened politely to the mayor's speech but started heckling when Fi was talking as if she was the one responsible for council decisions?!

Billy's punch was my favourite bit of the episode, the rest was just a bit meh. In the old days there'd have been a run up showing dodgy contractors cutting corners with the road works & Damian & William sneaking away from the party to try a cigarette that Damian stole. They'd shove it in a bin when nearly caught which would catch fire & initiate a series of explosions on the building site that saw everyone running for their lives, much devastation & several people dead or fighting for their lives. Those were the days...

The80sweregreat · 05/09/2017 09:11

AGnu, this gas blast did seem a bit cobbled together.
its true, but been no real build up to any of it. just a mention of ' gas works' going on then bang.
they dig it up all the time where i live, its either gas or water holding up the traffic, but thankfully no explosions of any sort. yet.

iknowimcoming · 05/09/2017 09:13

Yeah must be more to come explosion-wise - isnt this supposed to be about the remodelling of the set as well? I sniggered at the police escorting the mayor to her car and then her being driven off at high speed (very "the bodyguard") not sure how different London mayors are but round here our mayor drives herself everywhere - lol! I recognised the mayor - was she in the bill or something years ago?

The80sweregreat · 05/09/2017 09:20

The mayor did look a bit familiar to me too.
Fi's 'meltdown' is out of character overnight, but they always do this in order to fit in with the story - seeing her and Mick together in his car means that they are both safe i assume.
Abi looks scarier than ever. she really is one to watch.

iknowimcoming · 05/09/2017 09:45

Oh I guess Abbi could be injured - since Jane is the only one who knows she's shagging Steven and pregnant, that could make for a classic duff duff - what about the baby question in hospital, I guess ......

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/09/2017 11:00

Maybe Stephen will die ........

Sonjas lustful look at the teacher ffs

Amd724 · 05/09/2017 11:13

I found the episode to be incredibly disappointing. I could have skipped the episode I feel! If they kill off Stacey and/or Jane I'll stop watching. I don't care much about most of the other ones that were in the frame. And Sonia is beyond annoying....

The80sweregreat · 05/09/2017 11:14

poor mr price though being chased by her.

FunkyBarnYardBroom · 05/09/2017 12:20

Think the mayor was in waterloo road?

The80sweregreat · 05/09/2017 12:26

I dont mind Bernie either actually, she isnt very street wise with some things. Keegan is just a horrible little tyke.
Karen is funny, but i agree that her bra is annoying beyond words.

squirrelonapetridish · 05/09/2017 12:52

Was it just me or was Ben looking over at the explosion site a lot before it happened? Might have imagined it..

SoupDragon · 05/09/2017 12:58

I like the Taylor family generally. Keegan is horrible but having seen how the family dynamic works around him, I'm not surprised. I think he might have had it tough being the only one with a black father.

Theycalledmethewildrose · 05/09/2017 14:20

Yes Ben was but in fairness he isn't exactly a fantastic actor so I imagine if he was told to glance over at it, he'd stare directly at it for the entire duration of his script.

Are any EE characters going into Strictky? I imagine an injury where they go off to recuperate would be a good way of giving them some time off?

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 05/09/2017 14:36

Kush is doing Strictly this year Wildrose.

I like the idea of Jane as some sort of Ironside/that woman off Murder she Wrote hybrid.

Phil had a nice soft landing on some binliners that looked like they were full of pillows. I'm predicting Mick returns and spots a bright pink diamante encrusted suitcase poking out of some debris and realises it's his L.

I agree with a previous comment, Fi has gone 360 from ball breaking business woman to a vulnerable needy mess with a weakness for white wine in the space of 2 episodes. Confused

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 05/09/2017 14:39

I agree, poor Mr. Price. Will Sonia invite him over and serenade him on the sofa with her trumpet? Grin

The80sweregreat · 05/09/2017 15:22

I have an image of Sonia and her infamous trumpet playing at someones funeral! Sort of thing she would volunteer to do. Even though nobody asked her..

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 05/09/2017 16:04

Sonia blowing her own trumpet at a funeral? He he Grin

mrswhiplington · 05/09/2017 17:03

Hope it's the Spam fritters couple who cop it in the explosion. Can't even remember their names, they are so boring. They really are the drabbest people on the square. Why don't they seem to have a proper storyline for them?

Loved Billy punching Phil. Hopefully this will send him back to the bottle and we'll get our drunken Phil back.Grin

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 05/09/2017 19:03

The Spam fritter couple don't seem to add anything to the program.

There's the drawn out storyline rumbling about The Gun he keeps hidden in a drawer and occasionally looks at with a concerned face, their burglary which hasn't been mentioned since and some grumbling about a missing cat.

nancy75 · 05/09/2017 19:32

Oh bollox, Sonia's alive Angry

LineysRun · 05/09/2017 19:33

Spam Vets survived then.

Sonia's already saving Ian with her useful flapping arms and concerned face. And now she's police liaison. All in 20 seconds.

nancy75 · 05/09/2017 19:33

There's still time to push Sonia in the fire
