i wondered about the child, i think that lauren thinks ' well, he is dying, i may as well give him something to live for a while' or something off the wall like that! lol.. i wouldnt, especially as she seems to not want to marry him at all and is behaving like a woman on death row and she only aborted his child a while back as well. its all very weird and makes no sense to me at all.

I didnt reconise Josh without the glasses.

lazymum99 · 29/08/2017 17:43

I thought Abi put the dress on and danced around in her own flat. Steven found her and then shagged her in the dress. Then the next episode they are in Steven's house having a cosy morning?? If they were at Stevens where were Ian and Jane?
also who is Cath going on holiday with.

I spend an awful lot of time worrying about them missing flights on EE. I get very stressed about being at the airport on time and they just flounce around for ages doing stuff not involved in getting ready to go. It makes me very nervous. Its like one of those nightmares where you keep trying to get somewhere and can't or maybe no-one else has those!

The80sweregreat · 29/08/2017 18:03

i hate holidays for this very reason lazymum - i dont sleep the night before ( if its an early start) and i have also had the ' not got there ' nightmares too. i am a born worrier and holidays tend to stress me out more than they should!
it was disjointed with Abi and the dress etc - i kept thinking 'yuk' when she was holding it as she was with steven wearing it - poor lauren.
halloween wedding indeed.

Theycalledmethewildrose · 29/08/2017 18:15

No Dteven went to Abi's house. Ben opened the door and he went in looking for her. When he opened the bedroom door, he saw her in the dress.

MrsBotox · 29/08/2017 18:29

Lazymum I know exactly the sort of dream you mean as I have them a lot. Always about trying to walk miles to get somewhere but not making any progress and feeling the panic rising.
Or being lost and having no idea which way to walk to get back.
Horrible. I think it is my subconscious hinting that I am a lost cause and have led a wasted life with no sense of purpose or direction Smile.

lazymum99 · 29/08/2017 18:31

So the dress episode happened at Abi's then. They looked like they had just spent the night at Stephens in the following episode. I find the continuity really confusing or the director makes no effort to make it sensible.

Theycalledmethewildrose · 29/08/2017 18:34

It looked like Lauren walked into Abi's house with Louis but i don't think it was Abi's as they don't seem to have a back door.

I think Abi might have brought the dress over to Stevens maybe? I'm not sure about that part.

I wonder when we will see the new director taking over. It isn't great at the moment is it?

SoupDragon · 29/08/2017 18:52

Joyce gave the dress to Abi and it was at Abi's house where she pranced about and Steven shagged her. I think the morning at the Beale's house was separate to that. What I don't understand is how Joyce ended up with the dress again to give to Lauren in yesterday's episode.

The80sweregreat · 29/08/2017 18:55

Maybe there are two dresses?

celeste4 · 29/08/2017 19:56

This Steven telling Ian and Jane about the fake tumour is really uncomfortable viewing.

Megsmcgoo · 29/08/2017 20:02

Found that quite upsetting, poor Ian Sad

iknowimcoming · 29/08/2017 20:04

It was v sad, but loved Dots sunglasses! And wtf is with abi now drugging Steven with animal pills, she's really scary Shock

youarenotkiddingme · 29/08/2017 20:10

Steven did actually look ill at the end.

I felt so sorry for Ian Sad

Fi is actually starting to behave jealously towards Carmax

celeste4 · 29/08/2017 21:54

Pointless ending to the episode aswell. They would have been better with Ian breaking down that Mick and Linda talking on the roof the pub. The same arguments going round and round in circles is tiresome already.

Maybe its because Lee Ryan is an awful actor but there is zero chemistry between Whitney and Woody.

The80sweregreat · 29/08/2017 22:01

Carmax! Love it..

iknowimcoming · 29/08/2017 22:21

So Phil had obviously paid off Jays grandad to go along with the story of Jase not being his real dad, but why? So that Jay sells the car lot to Weyland - why doesn't Phil just sell it to them himself. I hope the big story next week finally sorts this nonsense out Confused

SinisterBumFacedCat · 29/08/2017 22:37

Carmax sounds like a brand of Sanpro.

Poor Ian Sad

celeste4 · 29/08/2017 22:43

It didn't really occur to me actually how unlucky Ian has been with his children. Peter seemed like the most sane one and even he has been portrayed as some sort of down and outter by Lauren since she left him in NZ. I'm dreading Bobby coming back.

dingdongdigeridoo · 29/08/2017 22:46

Poor Ian.

Did the Carter's shitty marriage really warrant another duff duff? For some reason that shot of them at the end made me think of the innkeepers from Les Mis.

Venella · 29/08/2017 22:47

Yay Dot!
"I've never been addicted to anything in me life, I'm not going to start now!" (lights fag) Grin

I missed the cat "story line", could someone please tell me what happened? Did Ethel-Dave run off or die and Joyce and Ted secretely replaced him or something like that?

iknowimcoming · 29/08/2017 23:02

Dave the cat is thought to be Ted and Joyce's cat lucky who did a bunk so I think that's why Joyce is snooping around Dots making her home-brew migraine potions just to get access to the cat. Hence the observation that Dave hadn't drunk his milk and my lucky didn't like milk .......... a future duff duff there no doubt Wink

celeste4 · 29/08/2017 23:10

If a cat gets a duff duff that might be curtains for me and EE Grin

Venella · 29/08/2017 23:26

iknow Thanks for putting me in the picture / cat flap!
The mark of a brilliant producer — giving one of the longest-serving and popular characters a "story line" about the mistaken identity of a bloody cat. Good grief.

Right now, I'd prefer any cat-related duff duff to yet another round of Mick'n'Linda's spiral of circles...

Akire · 29/08/2017 23:35

Joyce ted cat ran over years ago thought lost/killed but now she has eyes as thinks it's Ethel. Hence being nice to Dot so far.

Did feel sorry for Ian tonight, though screwing Lauren over is one thing but to burn bridges with Ian and lose job and house they are leaving them is v v odd. Can't see Ian forgiving him after all that.

Missed what Abi gave him to look ill?

celeste4 · 29/08/2017 23:51

Well the cat story has been going on for a while. I was beginning to think this cat will intentionally trip Dot up on the stairs.
