Whiters looked like a Daz advert!

Linda was throwing the wine back!

I really want to know what the beef is with Woody and Linda. I wonder if they are brother and sister?

youarenotkiddingme · 28/08/2017 20:47

Yes Akire She left ala Sound of music 😂

The80sweregreat · 28/08/2017 20:49

Blimey, if woody n L are siblings, that means that Twitney would be her ex daughter in law / possible new sister in law! Gosh, thats an AIBU if ever i read one.,

Akire · 28/08/2017 20:52

Didn't twig with sound of music! Why would she leave kids? Was Jack home already?

Next week trailer looks very exciting! Thought quite how they are going to keep Walford in bloom going till next week. There can't be inch of ground that's not already been dug or planted.

MrsBotox · 28/08/2017 21:16

What did Lauren have on her face? It was all sort of pearly pale, some sort of highlighter I guess. Josh looked similar.
Why does everyone have such terrible table manners? Eating with their forks clutched in a fist and shovelling the food in. Mick with his napkin tucked in his shirt collar, elbows on the table.
Carnal had bags under her eyes, like she hadn't slept.
It seems to me everyone would be a whole lot happier if they didn't go around 'confessing' and repeating random gossip all the time.

youarenotkiddingme · 28/08/2017 21:29

Yes nanny said give letter to daddy when he comes down. I assume he was upstairs!

Stacey is walford in bloom too!

Clark Kent was sans glasses - what was that all about?

dingdongdigeridoo · 28/08/2017 22:03

The nanny is horrible walking out like that. Those poor kids having to lose someone else in their life.

The child actors are pretty awful though.

The80sweregreat · 28/08/2017 22:10

Why didnt lauren tell steven the date for their wedding was moved?
Where has kaff got all this money for holidays?
Where did Shirl buy lamb and trimmings?
Why did Clarke turn up without specs?

bluebell34567 · 28/08/2017 22:12

the story lines are getting more and more stupid. a primary school child can write them.

celeste4 · 28/08/2017 22:25

I don't understand if Steven is love with Lauren or Abbie Confused

Theycalledmethewildrose · 29/08/2017 00:31

I've finally caught up.

Who is Steven in love with? Both presumably or is Abi just too hard to resist when she throws herself at him. She is one of my favourite characters. Singing and dancing around the room was one of my favourite scenes, evil and naive is a force to be reckoned with :).

Why didn't the nanny leave the letter on the counter in the kitchen. Not on the table where it could go flying under the sofa when the kids are having a cushion fight. So silly.

Agree with the poster who said their tables manners are disgusting. Everyone (except Carmel I think) has shoveled their food and eaten like toddlers.

I've watched at least ten boring episodes in quick succession and thats all I can say about them!

celeste4 · 29/08/2017 08:01

I quite like the Weyland story. I think its simmering quite nicely. The Mick/Linda/Whitney is stupid though. Why are they all sitting round the table together with Shirley in the middle? Why was Johnny not invited to the dinner?

Optimist1 · 29/08/2017 08:19

The flirting between Linda and Woody was horrendous. Shirley must be resolving never, ever to try to put things right in her family agin!

Optimist1 · 29/08/2017 08:19

*again

The80sweregreat · 29/08/2017 08:42

celest, Shirley rattled through the guest list to Mock - she said that Johnny could take Ollie out to the square for a while, Stacey could do a shift with Tina to cover the bar whilst they were upstairs eating.
Considering that Shirley never cooks, she must have been desperate to get them all together so that they could have a row.

I dont understand if Steven does actually have feelings for Abi, or just keeping her happy as she knows he is lying about the tumour and helped him by providing the dog x ray! I suspect he is just keeping her on side.

Optimist1 · 29/08/2017 09:04

I agree, The80s - Steven's just playing Abby along. I get the feeling that his paranoia re Josh/termination has overcome any love he ever had for Lauren. He had the upper hand for a short while but it's all unravelling now, isn't it?

They really need to get rid of Steven before Bobby is released back into the Square, or Jane will need to take a crash course in wheelchair martial arts having two family members who have previously seriously attacked her!

celeste4 · 29/08/2017 09:22

I dunno i can't work out Steven atm,. He almost seems smitten with Abbie not showing any flustered expressions or smirks when he is with her. If anything he seems to be stringing along Lauren, and probably with good reason to, but the whole pretending to be dying storyline is cringey.

The Mick/Whitney story is dragging out and getting tiresome. Either split up or move on and cut Whitney out the family and working at the bar once and for all. Its stupid. Why would any family stay so close to a ex-daughter in-law/Mick's bit on the side?

iknowimcoming · 29/08/2017 10:17

Are we allowed to discuss the BBC trailer that was at the end of last nights show? Have to admit to being slightly excited and REALLY hoping that this will be the start of big improvements after Sean has departed, and things can get back to being ridiculously dramatic and unrealistic normal again Grin

youarenotkiddingme · 29/08/2017 10:18

Or maybe they aren't siblings? Maybe the secret is L has been having an affair with Woody (he kept calling her babe) and woody/whit was revenge because L found out? I don't think she knew it had happened before because she seemed genuinely shocked by what Dee said but maybe someone saw her and Mick at bedroom door?

SoupDragon · 29/08/2017 11:02

How did Joyce have the dress to give to Lauren? Hadn't she already given it to Abi? Did I miss a bit after Steven shagged her whilst she was wearing it?

SoupDragon · 29/08/2017 11:03

I deliberately didn't watch the trailer.

Theycalledmethewildrose · 29/08/2017 12:52

Don't worry Soup the trailer was just noise. It didn't really show what is going to happen, just that something will happen if that makes any sense.

TheNaze73 · 29/08/2017 12:55

EastEnders is dreadful at the moment. I'm perservering with it, as I've always watched it but, it's never been so bad. I hope they keep Lisa Faulkner in it though. Good character.

SinisterBumFacedCat · 29/08/2017 13:45

Actually I've been kind of enjoying the slow burning plots, as compared to Phil Mitchell's 3 day crack addiction back in the day. But I got the impression that some plot lines were just announced to a room of script writers are left text to flesh out, with a raised eyebrow and an "okaaaaaaay..."

dingdongdigeridoo · 29/08/2017 13:53

I think Steven is stringing Abi along as part of his diabolical scheme. He knows it'll destroy Lauren when she finds out.

It's weird though. Why is Lauren suddenly going on about having a baby when she wanted to escape so badly? I feel like she might know something and not be letting on.
