So, only a matter of a few weeks left before we can all, once more, immerse ourselves in the societal & economic dynamics of 18th century rural Cornwall perve at Aiden Turner's snug breeches and clenched jawline

Anyone else excited??? Am really going to make a vair serious effort to actually pay attention to the plot this time - it's something to do with tin mining, I think [hesitant]

The hair bugs me yes. I can't speak for now but the actresses were instrumental in the hair changes in the 70s. Don't know why it's all to cock in this one.

JuneFromBethesda · 11/06/2017 20:19

I'm on countdown ... 40 minutes to go Grin

wowfudge · 11/06/2017 21:15

On the subject of hair: why has Ross had a perm this series?

JuneFromBethesda · 11/06/2017 21:16

I don't know about a perm but it could do with a good wash. He's looking a bit greasy.

JuneFromBethesda · 11/06/2017 21:17

Aunt Agatha steals the scene as usual Grin

IrenetheQuaint · 11/06/2017 21:29

I thought the ridiculous horse-bolting intro was a nightmare of Elizabeth's, it was beyond parody.

viques · 11/06/2017 21:30

Oh a wedding! Wasn't expecting that. Love Dr Enys.

viques · 11/06/2017 21:31

Sneaky Elizabeth.

JuneFromBethesda · 11/06/2017 21:37

I know Ross doesn't deserve her but I want him and Demelza to be happy again Sad

RandomDent · 11/06/2017 21:43

She needs to get up and walk around. :o

squoosh · 11/06/2017 21:43

Will the child be born with a mop of black curls and a tricorn?

MyOtherProfile · 11/06/2017 21:46

I can't remember. Does Warleggan know Ross is really the dad?

JuneFromBethesda · 11/06/2017 21:48

Grin squoosh

No, he doesn't MyOtherProfile

Ross eavesdropping on this entire scene is a bit ridiculous

viques · 11/06/2017 21:50

Poor little Valentine, cursed by the black moon and aunt Agatha, if only he had a loving daddy to protect him........

squoosh · 11/06/2017 21:58

Aunt Agatha is nailz isn't she? I love seeing her put the frighteners up Georgie boy.

TheOriginalChatelaine · 11/06/2017 21:58

What a travesty of Winston Graham's books. Totally pathetic, no disrespect to the able actors but it really is pants.

squoosh · 11/06/2017 21:59

Valentine is a great name for a male mini Ross. Swoonsome.

SoupDragon · 11/06/2017 22:05

I'm not an avid watcher so can someone please tell me What happened to Ross and Demelzas son?

wowfudge · 11/06/2017 22:19

He was there - when Demelza and Prudey were sitting at the table and talking.

MissDemelzaCarne · 11/06/2017 22:24

I hope it's not an anticlimax.

SoupDragon · 11/06/2017 22:30

Ah. I assumed they'd borrowed the Eastenders Kiddie Cupboard :o

MyOtherProfile · 11/06/2017 22:45

Chatelaine that's interesting. I only read 1 and it was eons ago. Anything in particular?

MacarenaFerreiro · 11/06/2017 23:08

So Ross knows the baby is his. Elizabeth knows the baby is Ross's. Demelza knows the baby is Ross's. Even the old aunt knows who the father is. It's like an 18th century Eastenders.

I do like Dwight and Caroline though. And Morwenna. (haven't read any of the books so no idea what to expect).

ElspethFlashman · 11/06/2017 23:36

It was pure camp, wasn't it?

I have to confess to having a snigger when Ross was looking tortured on the beach, shaking his head then breaking into a Tom Cruise run. Thats ACTIIIIIINGGGGG!!!

IrenetheQuaint · 12/06/2017 07:50

In the books Ross and Demelza suspect the baby may be Ross's but aren't sure. It's isn't spelt out for the reader either, though pretty easy to pick up between the lines.

In the TV series, however, the baby practically has a big arrow pointing to him in every scene saying 'I am Ross Poldark's child' Grin
