So, only a matter of a few weeks left before we can all, once more, immerse ourselves in the societal & economic dynamics of 18th century rural Cornwall perve at Aiden Turner's snug breeches and clenched jawline

Anyone else excited??? Am really going to make a vair serious effort to actually pay attention to the plot this time - it's something to do with tin mining, I think [hesitant]

Oops sorry, that wasn't supposed to turn into an essay. I've been off with a chest infection this week so I've had a bit too much time on my hands Blush.

ShelaghTurner · 28/07/2017 00:20

Grin I love a good Poldark essay!

You’re right, I’d forgotten his speech. Funny thing is, I’d screenshot the passage previous to that (about which of his friends were Methodists) from my Kindle to use in my argument here and decided it was a step too far! Grin Impressed by you typing it all out though. That’s dedication Wink

This season started slowly but is warming up nicely ... I don't know how much longer I can bear poor Morwenna's torments though Sad

woodhill · 30/07/2017 21:55

I thought Osborne had dc but we don't seem to see them and Morwenna was meant to look after them.

Abra1d · 30/07/2017 22:02

I think her sexual and maternal responsibilities overtook those to throb stepdaughters. 🙁 At least Elizabeth is now standing up for her.

I do like the GC boy actor. He has a very expressive face.

TheHiphopopotamus · 30/07/2017 22:07

Poor Morwenna. Wtf was her sister doing though?!

I'm liking laudanum addled Elizabeth this series though even though I'm not quite sure why. I'll miss Aunt Agatha but glad she managed to stick it to George before she popped her clogs.

OnePotato2Potato · 31/07/2017 00:16

This is ridiculous!Confused

How could Ross kiss Elizabeth after all he'd been through with Demelza? How could him and Elizabeth be so normal and chatty after so long, no awkwardness at all and Ross giving her tips on her love life!Grin

I'm just not feeling it this series. Too many shifts in Ross & Demelza's relationship 🤔

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 01/08/2017 09:45

I found the 'imagined' conversation with Demelza very confusing, why couldn't he just tell her? It wasn't exactly a full on snog.

I keep trying to think of ways Morwenna could escape over involved maybe elope or something with her true love? Or if all else fails push Osbourne off a cliff?? Wink

Mulledwine1 · 01/08/2017 10:01

By the way has anyone seen how good looking the actor is who plays Osborne? He had to put on two stone for this role. He's really good looking in real life! www.imdb.com/name/nm1982359/

ShelaghTurner · 01/08/2017 12:26

Yes wtf was the sequence all about? It’s not Dallas!

CeeBeeBee · 01/08/2017 13:40

I agree Mulled. He is completely unrecognisable as his normal self.

It was an intense episode, in terms of the relationship dynamics. Poor Morwenna. I wonder whether is scheming to get rid of Osborne somehow, or was that Osborne's imagination when Rowella sat in him?

I don't understand why Ross could t just have told her. Demelza has been honest and restrained with her attraction to Hugh in comparison. It's making it very easy for audiences to sympathise with her if she decided to act.

woodhill · 01/08/2017 14:19

Yes and he is excellent as Ossie.

MyOtherProfile · 01/08/2017 15:27

My goodness he's totally unrecognizable!

beguilingeyes · 01/08/2017 15:47

This week was much better on terms of following the plot, but it's still whizzing through. Ross's comment about Agatha being the last of the Trenwith Poldarks was ridiculous. Has he forgotten Verity already?

RiaOverTheRainbow · 01/08/2017 16:31

Verity's married so she's not officially a Poldark any more.

squoosh · 01/08/2017 19:36

Poor Morwenna. Wtf was her sister doing though?!

Her sister seems to have genuine affection and concern for Morwenna so I suspect her motive for seducing Osborne is to bring him down in some way. Expose him to his congregation as a lecherous rapey creep. Not sure how she will manage this though. Trickier in the days pre recording technology!

Thornyprick · 01/08/2017 20:12

In the books there's a major storyline that Ross tells himself what he should/could say to Demelza about meeting Elizabeth and closing that part of his life. He doesn't do it. That dream sequence was a great way to show his inner thoughts.

Pixel · 02/08/2017 16:32

Rowella does indeed have an ulterior motive, but it's not what you think. All will become clear! (hopefully Grin). Suffice to say she's a scheming little witch but if she gets the better of Ossie then who cares.

squoosh · 02/08/2017 20:06

I did some googling to see what unfolds, and I must say that I do like the cut of Rowella's jib. Grin

ShelaghTurner · 02/08/2017 21:03

Rowella is one to keep your eye on Grin. Let’s just say she got the balls in that family!

beguilingeyes · 06/08/2017 21:53

WTAF.. Was there.supposed to be a.book in there somewhere?

SoupDragon · 06/08/2017 22:27

I have to confess I thought "Well played, Rowella!"

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 06/08/2017 22:29

Oh noooooo no more Poldark till next year Shock Sad

That was quite a stressful last episode, thought Elizabeth was pretty good at convincing George he was going mad!!

ElspethFlashman · 06/08/2017 22:55

I watched tonight. I am really really really sick of everyone telling Ross how amazing he is every five minutes.

"Spoken like a truly courageous hero amazing studmuffin who is the soul of manly virtue, Ross. You probably have a massive cock as well!"

"What, me? Aw shucks I'm too adorably humble to agree. My cock is quite something, though"

I honestly have nothing against Aidan Turner but the bloke who plays George wiped the floor with him tonight. Really good performance. He looked terrible on the beach.

userofthiswebsite · 06/08/2017 23:06

I feel a Sunday night TV void now both this and The handmaid's tale are now off air...
