So, only a matter of a few weeks left before we can all, once more, immerse ourselves in the societal & economic dynamics of 18th century rural Cornwall perve at Aiden Turner's snug breeches and clenched jawline

Anyone else excited??? Am really going to make a vair serious effort to actually pay attention to the plot this time - it's something to do with tin mining, I think [hesitant]

George is a boring villain. Just very peevish. He and Elizabeth seem to have too much time on his hands - getting Morwenna to pick on her some more. Don't know why she doesn't just go back to her mum's. Must be better than a forced marriage.

beguilingeyes · 11/07/2017 20:13

Her mum was a widow with three single daughter. Marriage to a well.connected clergyman would have seemed like a good match for the daughter of a dean.

Mulledwine1 · 16/07/2017 22:17

OMG Ossie and the feet. I can never unsee that.

Poor Morwenna.

ScrumDinger · 17/07/2017 01:17

I love that Elizabeth's baby is blatantly a mini Ross. They should pop a tiny tricorn on his head and be done with it Grin

beguilingeyes · 17/07/2017 09:13

Psychology night last night. George was bullied at school and Dwight has PTSD. Why is Caroline being so drippy?

ElspethFlashman · 17/07/2017 16:05

I think I'm losing the will tbh. It's so boring.

The doctor is the only one who can actually act.

Everyone else is just a cartoon character.

ShelaghTurner · 17/07/2017 16:09

Drippy Caroline is really boiling my piss. Drippy is the last thing Caroline is Angry

ElspethFlashman · 17/07/2017 16:14

Fucking toads and Drake and Morwenna being two vapid moon eyed puppies without an ounce of personality between them. It was like they were two 12 year olds. They were about as sexy as marshmallows.

MaQueen · 17/07/2017 22:50

Really thought they'd get down and dirrty in the dunes, when Drake took his shirt off...but no, just more yearning looks.

Just shag her FFS. Get her knocked up. Then her Mum will insist you marry her.

Grin MacQueen.

JuneFromBethesda · 23/07/2017 10:42

Grin Valentine in a mini tricorn

I am enjoying it despite its flaws. It's perfect Sunday night tv fodder.

I agree with you SoupDragon. I'm not hopelessly hooked like I was with seasons 1 & 2 but I'm still really enjoying it.

ProseccoBitch · 23/07/2017 12:51

Yes I agree too. Despite regularly shouting 'that doesn't happen in the book!' at the screen I still thoroughly enjoy it.

Merrylegs · 23/07/2017 16:10

Basically baby Valentine

squoosh · 23/07/2017 21:15

Oh poor Morwenna. I do hope her creepy and corpulent husband meets a sticky end. And soon.

JuneFromBethesda · 23/07/2017 21:47

I'm watching this half an hour behind on iplayer but why does Morwenna look pregnant?? Have I missed a major plot point?

squoosh · 23/07/2017 21:48

You go girl Aunt Agatha! You piss on George's son and heir chips.

squoosh · 23/07/2017 21:49

June I presume it's because a few months are meant to have passed since last week's episode and her fatty husband has been demanding his conjugals on an hourly basis resulting in up the duffness.

JuneFromBethesda · 23/07/2017 21:51

Oh ok, catching up now, it's obviously been some time since the wedding. As you were ...

squoosh · 23/07/2017 22:00

I'll miss Aunt Agatha giving everyone major shade. Farewell you delightful crone.

JuneFromBethesda · 23/07/2017 22:33

She stole every scene she was in. RIP Aunt Agatha.

Is Ross this unlikeable in the books?

ShelaghTurner · 23/07/2017 22:47

No. He’s a twat but a likeable twat.

ShelaghTurner · 23/07/2017 22:48

I actually think this Osborne is more revolting than Biggins was, and Biggins was revolting! This guy makes me shudder.

MyOtherProfile · 23/07/2017 22:55

I'm just a bit fed up of everything going George's way. He miraculously overheard just the bit he needed to in order to say the right things and get the backing of sir Francis. He manages to push aunt Aretha over the edge and get away with giving her no party and no funeral. He gets away with marrying poor Morwenna off to nasty bloke. Ross is too thick to do the right thing and always in every episode comes out worse. Just a bit of variety would make it a more interesting watch on a Sunday night.

crazyhorses3 · 23/07/2017 23:04

Anyone else feeling really really mad that women got married off to these disgusting old men with a prostitute habit just because they were poor and threw their lives away? Really upset about Morwenna and i can't see how she will escape now... Drake is a bit of a wet though.

squoosh · 23/07/2017 23:21

Yes I feel desperately sad for Morwenna. She has absolutely no power. Elizabeth may have felt under pressure to marry George but at least he revered her.
