Well, you are being satirical Lois, but I happen to have read some spoilers and the new family does come complete with an issue which will provide the scriptwriters with some valuable educational opportunities.

So we can all rest easy on that score Grin

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 04/06/2017 15:47

Oh thank God for that. Sleep easy everyone Grin

FizzyOrange · 04/06/2017 16:10

Apparently, according to ''What's on TV', the Taylors have a 'mysterious secret'. Hehe - can't wait Grin

Venella · 04/06/2017 17:13

I watched "Legend" on channel 4 last night (Tom Hardy as the Kray twins). Sorry I cropped auff your head, Christopher Eccleston.
This made me laugh:

Venella Grin

The80sweregreat · 04/06/2017 18:35

The Taylors look a nice family... Not!
Secrets, problems, a dog..no doubt they will turn out ok in the end though! ( or be written out by new year)

Optimist1 · 04/06/2017 18:58

Going to watch Legend tonight, Venella - I'll look out for that endorsement!

Did anyone else spot Lola (? Billy's granddaughter) on Casualty last night? She had no baby, but otherwise was exactly like she had been in EE!

EnidButton · 04/06/2017 19:06

"Filthy cockney bastards."

Grin
Venella · 04/06/2017 19:47

Optimist it's almost right at the beginning.
Enjoy the film (probably the wrong word, considering the subject).
I didn't notice any rhyming slang but might have missed it.

Interesting that the "subtitle people" spelled it that way!

Re Lola: ah, typecasting, that double edged sword!

HateSummer · 05/06/2017 02:59

Ann Mitchell aka Cora is supporting labour in the election: I scrolled to her little speech about pensioners and thought it was actually Cora for a second and that EE had began informing the public about elections and voting 😆.

Optimist1 · 05/06/2017 06:21

I quite liked Legend, Venella - a bit longer than it needed to be, but otherwise a good watch. Interesting that Barbara Windsor got only a passing mention in that, whereas in her recent TV biopic we were led to believe that she was much more closely involved with the Krays.

Hate - Grin

babykite · 05/06/2017 20:51

How has Stephen not realised she could be pregnant Hmm

buddhasbelly · 05/06/2017 20:56

There used to be so many new posts after an episode...now, i think we're all clinging on!

Stephen is such an arse. If my partner swanned about lazily making a cup of tea whilst I was trying to get out the door to work and feed a child...he's that intent on stalking her and yet not really putting the effort in when she is there...

MrsBotox · 05/06/2017 20:59

What exactly is it that Lauren does in her job and how long has she been working there? Suddenly she's giving presentations to investors and said she had been 'working on it for weeks.'
Why was Louise wearing a school skirt so short it almost showed her knickers?
How much longer must we endure the agony-fest that is Denise, her self-pity and clever-arse references to 'irony' and 'metaphor'. It's one lousy GCSE, not a Master's in Eng Lit.

The80sweregreat · 05/06/2017 21:00

Steven is gross. He will go ape when he sees her tracker at the clinic!
So, Dee has given up on her benefits claim? All those great poems, all that angst, all that heartache and shes given up??
Beyond annoyed.

Akire · 05/06/2017 21:24

Well yes, I was expect more messages than that! Lauren patronising work woman "who knoew you could have it all" er it's not 1977 any more! Agree where have all Lauren skills snort charm come from? She only did GCSE yet all of sudden she can woe top business people by her quirky insights. What was that about I need leave work now urgent and she couldn't leave baby in highchaor for 2min it took stephen 3 metres away to make a cup of tea. He wasn't even eating it anyway! Are we supposed believe she only had one clean work top? Which looked perfectly ok no stains but still wore the jacket?

Can only imagine Steven will see where she is and fake an emergency. You think he want her work so they can get own place. So do they have Ian James upstairs room and kid/s be in Lucy's old room cosy

Least Kim nearly got Denise to admit she was stupid, not sure if lush take back mind.

I also was Shock at everyone's skirt length! Who starts a play this time of year?

Least we had no drama from the Vil tonight, so less miserable faces all round.

MrsBotox · 05/06/2017 21:32

It’s sad but true and that’s no lie
Perhaps it’s time to say goodbye.
It used to be fun but now it’s bleak
A big fat yawn, three times a week.
We no longer care, who gives a stuff
If daft Denise stamps off in a huff.
The sun has set on life in the East and
EE, it seems, is over, deceased.
It would take a miracle, it must be said
For EE to arise, like Kaff, from the dead.

Akire · 05/06/2017 21:35

That's bloody amazing! I couldn't make one up if my life depended on it.

MrsBotox · 05/06/2017 21:58

Thank you Akire. I am sure you underestimate yourself.
Anyway, I have been so inspired by Denise's foray into the English canon of great literature that I thought I'd have a go myself Wink.

The80sweregreat · 05/06/2017 22:09

Mrsb, iits so true!
Great poem. Shame the soap is so dull.

EnidButton · 05/06/2017 22:15

I miss Eastenders as it was. It was such a great escape when needed. Wish they'd get someone new to run it.

The80sweregreat · 05/06/2017 22:18

Enid, we should start a petition.
Bring back the crazy stories we loved.

EnidButton · 05/06/2017 22:22

Yes! Or even a little bit of drama. If I wanted cold reality I'd sit on a bench in town all afternoon. It's gone from one extreme- sisters drowning at the stroke of midnight, people coming back from the dead- to another- bins and GCSEs-.

I know the previous stuff was far fetched but I always wanted to find out what happens next.

EnidButton · 05/06/2017 22:24

*happened

I caught a bit of Corrie last week when they had their week of specials (on after 9pm Shock) and 10 minutes of one episode had more happening than a month of EE does now. I might start watching Corrie again.

The80sweregreat · 05/06/2017 22:28

There has to be a line between social problems and things that probably wouldnt happen in real, life.
A mix. This new guy hasnt found out how to do this.
All these monologues and navel gazing, it seems a bit false.
