Taunton court. Victim 15 yo/Abuser 24 yo, 5 years jail for child abduction and sexual activity with a child. Denied abducting a child after he ignored an order made by police banning him from having any contact with the girl. The girl was questioned by police in July 2014 after she turned up at school with a ‘black eye’. Abuser claimed the girl was ‘pestering’ him. Judge: “She was a vulnerable girl … Your interest in her was for your own sexual gratification and you chose to abuse her.”
Note on Keighley 2016:On the basis of 2011 census data, one in every 250 Keighley Muslim men of working age were in the dock for this one rape case. On 3 March 2016Keighley Central councillor Khadim Hussain said there are 80-90 more cases in the pipeline. On 26 May 2016 there were said to be 261 suspects being investigated in 220 cases in Keighley and Bradford involving 188 girls, but the proportion of suspects who are Muslims was not stated.
Note on Rotherham: According to Andrew Norfolk in The Times on 24 February 2016, “The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) has begun 55 investigations into alleged police misconduct linked to Rotherham child sex crimes. It has received complaints against 92 named officers.An investigation into all past sex grooming cases in the town, begun in June and led by the National Crime Agency, has identified more than 300 suspects and 9,000 lines of inquiry.” According to the 2011 census, there were around 3,000 Muslim men of working age in Rotherham. If 300 of these are suspects, that’s one in every tenRotherham Muslim men of working age who are police suspects.
