The Last Kingdom Starts Tomorrow!

I loved the first season, so really looking forward to this, especially seeing Uhtred again -v swashbuckling. I never watched GoT so I have nothing to compare it to. (GoT fans seem not to like this so much.) I do like it's historical basis.

Boy oh boy oh boy was that intense! Poor Erik! Killed by his own brother. Poor Odda! Killed himself because Alfred was a selfish dick. How amazing was Applefed when she stabben Zigfried in the back? And boy did I laugh when they showed arseling just standing there. Hopefully now he will know not to mess with her. Poor Giant! At least he got to die a warrior's death.

I can't wait for the next series!

Poor Erik. So sad for them as a couple. So glad she possibly has his 'pup' inside her. So sad to see her following her husband at the end.

I can't believe Erik died! I cried a few times, especially when Uhtred was knocked to the floor in the battle, I really thought he was a gonner.

it was great! At least Erik had an honorable death - you've got to worry about what is going to happen to that baby though, I'm clearly going to have to get the books!

Oh that was intense. Even though you just knew it wouldn't end well for Erik and Aethelfeld there was still that little bit of hope...

DH felt sorry for Siegfried, especially when he realised his brother had betrayed him but DH is a softy sometimes

It has been a fantastic second series - can't wait for the next one.

Ah, we all knew Erik and Aethelflaed were never destined to be together in this world. No doubt they were reunited many years later in Valhalla.

At least Aetheltwat knows what she is capable of now - the look on his face when he saw her with her sword Grin He'll think twice before he tries his abusive shit on her again.

There must be another series!

Poor Aethelflaed and Erik! I was hoping at least that her Arseling husband would be killed so she wouldn't have to go back to him. Hopefully now she has known a real man, she'll stand up to him. That scene between Siegfried and Erik when he killed him. was a great piece of acting. Even though they were fighting, you really felt Siegfrieds grief when he killed him.

Thought that was an excellent finale, really tense even though I'd read the book so knew roughly what to expect [sniffles for Erik]. Hopefully Aethelweasel will keep his weaselly little hands to himself now he's seen what his missus is capable of when riled. Poor Aethelflaed.

Poor Erik and Æthelflaed. They didn't get their happy ending. We all knew it but it was nice to dream...

A Valhalla death for Clapa going like the clappers until the end.

They found another amazing way to film a battle scene! Was worried when Uhtred hit the ground.

Like all of you, loved it when Ethelred looked shit scared of his murdering missus! Let's hope she keeps a dagger by her bedside from now on. And will she have a baby complete with beard, eyeliner and braids. Let's hope so Grin

And, bloody hell, couldn't Alfred and Ælswith have at least thanked Uhtred and his men for saving his daughter! Jeez. Poor Odda. More proof that serving royalty has been a dodgy career through most of history.

Seems like no decision has been made yet. SHIT! I say we all write to the BBC tomorrow (well, today actually). Why is it I've never seen a trailer for TLK on the Beeb but loads of Versailles which, by all accounts, is not nearly as good? Grrrr, annoying.

I woke in my the night. Feeling really sad.

That she now has to return to Ethel-wed-twat, with Erik's pup in her belly. And like 2 pp's, I too think Alfred heard her conversation with Uhtred.

My pain is her returning to him, and knowing that she has to live, worrying about throwing her piss bucket at him, and get a knife, which she told Erik she'd know what to do in the future, instead when really she ought to be cuddling her baby. With Erik.
I want her to be loved. For the precious thing she is. By Erik.

I am. Clearly. Over-invested.

I'm gonna miss you guys. See you next year for S3.

Sad for Alfred really as he didn't let her down, he was prepared to bankrupt his kingdom and kill his friend to get her back.
