Nick didn't keep repeating the spelling of Lakewell. He started once and Steve interrupted him, then he had another go and completed the spelling, and that was it.

tribpot · 10/04/2017 00:10

Nooooooooooooo this cannot be. On the other hand, we have learnt from LOD this season that you can bleed profusely from a head wound and appear to be dead for so long that someone decides to chop you up and then come to and basically be okay (manky arm aside).

Can't imagine what possessed Balaclava Man if he really is Ros' DH - staggering over-reaction when he could just keep referring Steve to his fictional solicitor and refusing to answer.

Interesting that Ros has admitted the wound to Mr Ros? Easier than trying to keep it a complete secret I guess - although she's really going to need to take herself off to hospital soon.

I think Jodie must know Ros' interview of Hanna was not by the book - but perhaps the starry-eyed talk about ambition afterwards has made her think she needs to let it slide if she wants to get on?

Megatherium · 10/04/2017 00:12

I'd like to think that at some point they'll talk to the Exhibits Officer about the altered label. It doesn't really make sense that he'd make a mistake, because presumably they must number them sequentially so you're unlikely to put 30 after 12. Even with upper case writing, they should be able to tell that it wasn't his writing. The way TN wrote the 3 was quite distinctive.

Whywaitfortomorrow · 10/04/2017 00:53

Just wondering, if they managed to track down Nick's car on cctv would they not have looked for Roz's car in vicinity of Tims flat ? Unless she took cab but then there would be records of journey.

I now think Roz and Jodie in it together to cover up Ifield accidental death. She woke up to chainsaw, he fell back and somehow killed himself. She panicked. Left scene but came back with help to clean up. Sent text to Hana as part of plan to frame her.

I feel like JM is having a laugh somewhere and I can't help thinking there will be a scene like the one towards the end of Thomas Crown Affair but instead of bowler hats everyone will be wearing balaclavas Grin - if you've seen it, you'll know what I mean.

GavelRavel · 10/04/2017 02:11

Balaclava Man is Ian Buckells surely!?! Right build, husband way too slim.

Still think this has sharked though

ButtonMooooon · 10/04/2017 06:38

Laid in bed overanalysing thinking about it and the thing thats annoyed me most about it is the way Steve was giving Huntley a running commentary, would he even have called to warn him he was going over IRL? I mean the whole:

I am coming over
I am at the door of your building
I am in the building
I am getting in the lift
I am going to the fifth floor

I also don't think it was Huntley as the build looked all wrong BUT does that mean he's had the mysterious Jimmy waiting in the building just in case Steve went back?

TizzyDongue · 10/04/2017 07:16

Yes me too. Thought that ar the time, even if the officer had misheard 30 for 13 you'd have thought they'd noticed they'd no just bagged 18 pieces since 12, along with the absence of these items written in the book.

Didn't notice her 3 though, so hopefully it will come up.

Who's Ian Buckells?

Travelledtheworld · 10/04/2017 07:25

Tizzy Ian Buckells is the other senior investigating officer.
The chap brought in to replace Ros heading Operation Trapdoor.

I don't think it's him. His role has mainly been to give Kate the hard stare now and again as he has previously been in a team investigated by AC.

Travelledtheworld · 10/04/2017 07:28

I do love this series, but i doubt it's authenticity.
Does anyone here know anything about police Anti corruption ?
( Sure real life police detectives would not be watching this show...)

TizzyDongue · 10/04/2017 07:29

Oh right, thanks.

No don't think it's him either. Logistically it seems unlikely to be Roz's husband either. So it all depends on who this Jimmy is, but the only person who knows Jimmy is Steve who is looking dead or left severely brain damaged.

The pizza thing on Rozs phone - was that a text or a call? If a call then they could also listen to Steve's phone

Travelledtheworld · 10/04/2017 07:37

Tizzy the pizza thing was a voicemail message from Roz's kids who were photoning their mum to ask if they could order in a Pizza. Implying no one was at home to feed them.
Same timing as when she was supposed to be home sick in bed.

Travelledtheworld · 10/04/2017 07:39

...and I don't see how a solicitor who
practices corporate law could be handy with a baseball bat.
Criminal defence, he would have picked up the skills on the way.

I don't think Mr Huntley really knows what's going on. But he knows something is up.

Ferrisday · 10/04/2017 07:50

When Steve dramatically stormed into the station with AC12 backup and van, was new boy Jimmy with him, does anyone remember?

LovelyBaubles · 10/04/2017 07:55

I've convinced myself that Michael Farmer's solicitor is in on it. All the talk of not disclosing evidence until just before the trial, and then the solicitor suggesting pleading guilty to reduce the sentence. Solicitor seemed pretty incompetent but what if that was deliberate and he was involved in the conspiracy /cover up?

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 10/04/2017 08:26

Going right back to the beginning it seemed odd that Hana, a waitress on a night out with friends was so violently struck by a car that just happened to be driven by balaclava man. Then she's chained up in Farmer's house.

The previous victims worked as prostitutes, but Hana just has a cleaning job on the side, except now we know it wasn't cleaning, or not just cleaning and she works as a prostitute too - one who's had Ilfield as a client.

Michael Farmer's also revealed to have approached a lone woman, who's only just come forward and he's confessed to being 'lonely'

There's also the young woman from the previous episode, the rape victim (?) the one with the unseen crying baby or toddler.

Are all these threads going to mesh together?

I think we're going to find out something deeply disturbing about Ilfield, on top of him being electric saw man that is. He was an AC12 informant seemingly trying to clear Farmer, but I think was also trying to frame someone else.

hackmum · 10/04/2017 08:36

LovelyBaubles: "I've convinced myself that Michael Farmer's solicitor is in on it. "

Yes. I can't remember whether it was you or someone else who said Farmer's solicitor could be Jimmy Lakehill (or whatever he's called - Huntley's mate, anyway). I think that's really likely. He's clearly either a crap solicitor or deliberately trying to get Farmer sent down.

I don't think the guy who killed Steve (and Steve is definitely dead) was Huntley. Not sure who it was - Lakehill? Or possibly Buckles? Buckles is clearly a baddie but I don't know quite how bad.

roywoodsbeard · 10/04/2017 08:41

Megatherium

Confused by your previous comment saying Ros was hard on Hana as she new Huntley was watching her - Ros IS Huntley Confused

Roz's boss is dodgy- the hard stare as she walked out of his office then he immediately used his mobile to call someone.

Reckon the new Jamie is up to no good.

Whoever hit Steve was already in the building or have followed him in up the stairs when S took the lift. He'd have to have heard the call Steve made to Huntley. Or Huntley called for help.

Mrsknackered · 10/04/2017 09:04

It's going to be an agonising wait. I know Steve's dead but I just really don't want it to be true - I'm not good with change!

Ferrisday · 10/04/2017 09:04

It's not the husband
He had a nice suit on, and assailant had boots, not just bomber jacket. And too big, like people have said.
There a trailer where he is outside the building with Jamie with same suit on, so after this incident.
I though it was Steve, so though it was a scene that we hadn't seen yet. Was trying to find evidence that he lives. Sad
I'm worried

Ferrisday · 10/04/2017 09:07

Ros is covering up for something bigger.
The assailant overheard Steve in the lobby talking to husband and took the opportunity.
Not sure what he was doing there in the first place.
Maybe Ros was trying to cover up something for her husband? Not that he's balaclava man.

Roywoodsbeard
I thought I was losing it. Thanks for clarifying 😀

badhotfanny · 10/04/2017 09:25

IMDb would suggest that lovely Steve is a goner... Sad
