So interesting all the misogynist signposting re Roz and her career break, Kate and her losing out to Steve, Ted's comments and meeting locations with the two of them, Kate's comment to Roz.
I also reckon it was her husband and she is covering for him.

NoelHeadbands · 02/04/2017 22:30

I think gender inequality in the workplace is definitely going to feature heavily this series.

SaintEyning · 02/04/2017 22:30

Oh and being "allowed to call them prostitutes again"

partystress · 02/04/2017 22:32

Roomba I had a similar thought re filming: to me it looked old fashioned somehow. Overall, feeling slightly disappointed in this series, having loved all the others. Feels like we know too much and there is less ambiguity. Or maybe I am just missing a whole layer of intrigue!

Phantommagic · 02/04/2017 22:36

I have an important question. Where is the mezzanine of doom?? Have we even seen it yet?

TizzyDongue · 02/04/2017 22:38

All seems a bit silly. With her managing to swap evidence and suggesting they check forensics again and the shock result from the recheck

CoolCarrie · 02/04/2017 22:40

Thanks tribpot!

Phantommagic · 02/04/2017 22:43

Not sure why Kate was so pissed off about the inspector post though. She's been a DS for about 2 weeks.

ButtonMooooon · 02/04/2017 22:45

Forensics state clearly they have done a thorough investigation into torso of victim. SIO currently under investigation (for who knows what at this stage!) asks for them to re-examine. Suddenly there is the DNA from a murder victim in the Police Force. Come on Steve Confused.

Don't even get me started on her calling the team in who are investigating Ifield's death and saying this involves you before anything was even said

And is Jodie about 12?

lampshady · 02/04/2017 22:45

I agree that it seems less ambiguous than previous series, but am hoping for some massive twists. I still don't really know if Denton was bent.

IfYouGoDownToTheWoodsToday · 02/04/2017 22:51

Why is the teenager still in prison when they know he was actually in hospital at the time?

IfYouGoDownToTheWoodsToday · 02/04/2017 22:51

*at the time of the murder

ButtonMooooon · 02/04/2017 22:52

I wonder if something else has been found in Ifield's flat with Steve asking if she'd ever been before the murder investigation

ButtonMooooon · 02/04/2017 22:53

Mind you, Ted's just lost points for saying "that wee girl". TN is 44.

I only heard him say this in relation to Leonie Collersdale I too was sidetracked by MN and need to watch again

EmilyDickinson · 02/04/2017 22:57

Great episode but so many questions -

What has Roz Huntley done with all the evidence in her boot: fingers (urgh); laptop; phone?

How did Roz overcome Tim given that he was stronger, uninjured (save for his burnt hand) above her and holding a chainsaw?

Come to that, what has Roz done with all the cutting equipment?

Why is Roz's husband always out?

Did Roz's husband follow her that night with her phone?

Why did Tim have a rucksack full of bagged evidence?

Who owns the car that Hana was abducted in? I thought they traced ownership of the car to Michael's address but then made a big thing of him not having a licence etc. Did they say who owned the car?

EmilyDickinson · 02/04/2017 22:59

Buttonmooooon I think that Steve is trying to rattle TN by asking about her being in the flat. Full marks to Steve for suspecting TN has something to do with Tim's death.

Purpleprickles · 02/04/2017 22:59

Ooh EmilyD you have reminded me that a car did pull up as Ros entered Tim's flat to confront him, maybe it was the husband??

SinisterBumFacedCat · 02/04/2017 23:03

I have an important question. Where is the mezzanine of doom?? Have we even seen it yet?

Yes I loved watching Dot Cottan and his Starbucks's eyeing up his next victim

roywoodsbeard · 02/04/2017 23:05

Buttonmoooon

I'm pretty sure that when TN's character called her team in saying they needed to hear this, she also said something like "I've only just heard" implying that she already knew what the news was re the DNA.

I cannot believe no one has asked why she asked for the evidence to be checked again.

roywoodsbeard · 02/04/2017 23:07

Ifyougodown

They said there was a gap of 2 hours between the girl going missing and him arriving at the hospital. TN said she believed that would be enough time to murder the girl and then get to hospital to establish an alibi.

Maybe tim couldn't saw her as he's not a cold blooded killer, and his hesitation gave her time to get away/ push the saw at him ?

So the shallow neck could could either be so as to torture him, bleeding out slowly, giving her time to chop off some fingers and find out what he knows, OR it could have been an accident/and defensive move - she didn't mean to kill him but was making light of the situation?

And the latest prostitute's body was dismembered -that was new, wasn't it? Roz did it, with Tim's saw.

Roz's husband always out as he uses prostitutes (maybe).

Agree we need the Mezzanine of Doom soon.

Ideally the smarmy DCI will be bought in. Just for his oily misogynistic ways. That's a crime, right?

BoreOfWhabylon · 02/04/2017 23:16

Delurking to predict that at some stage we will have flashback to the night of the murder. This will show that TN didn't mean to kill Tim but tried to push his hand, which was holding chainsaw, away. This caused goancing blow across his neck and may also have severed his fingers. She then decides to let him die.

Also, I think her husband has definitely seen something and will be more involved, poss leading to her being found out. Lee Ingleby is too well-known an actor to continue being so peripheral.

Also, am sharing the love for Noble Ted/Adrian Dunbar. I have lusted after that man for many a year now.

BoreOfWhabylon · 02/04/2017 23:19

Ooh! just thought - at some stage husband will search her car and find laptop.

This will show what happened because the security cameras in his flat were feeding into the laptop...

Phantommagic · 02/04/2017 23:20

We got the first "fella" of the series tonight. All is well with the world.
