I'm so lost!!!!! How is Thandie going to explain her blood on the ceiling?

Megatherium · 02/04/2017 23:58

Cutting off the fingers can't have been accidental. It was made pretty clear it was to get rid of DNA under his fingernails.

Ollycat · 03/04/2017 00:01

Blimey just finished episode 2 - can't see this ending well for Thandie!

Choccywoccyhooha · 03/04/2017 00:35

Didn't she also cut off his fingers to be able to use his prints to access his laptop?
Agree as to wondering how Roz recovered so quickly from the serious head injury.
The scene near the end with Michael Farmer was incredibly sad.
Iagree that it was Roz's husband who pulled up outside Tim's flat.

I hope Kate isn't going to make a personal grudge against Steve get in the way of the investigation.

Finally, I am outing myself as another longterm member of the Adrian Dunbar fanclub. He's just perfection.

When we didn't know that Dot was a baddie it was much more interesting but as I really cannot stand TN, I'm glad we already know she's so despicable. I irrationally would not like her being exonerated.

Poor Michael Farmer.

tribpot · 03/04/2017 07:17

Oh blimey, it gets worse with Ted.

About 32 mins he's having a chat with TN outside the flat and says "now hang on, I'm the senior ranking officer darling" and she says "I'd thank you to use gender neutral language".

Then at just before 33 mins Ted takes his jumpsuit off and says to Steve "that wee girl has just turned a corner with me".

That plus the fact he is so paranoid about being seen out in the pub with Kate suggests at some point Ted's going to have to defend himself on charges of sexism. HIs paranoia actually relates to the fact he was nearly or actually having an affair with a suspect in the last season, nothing to do with Kate at all?

Selecting Steve for promotion rather than Kate makes sense given Steve has many more years of experience as a DS (even though I think Kate has arguably held herself back because of her own child) but again is this going to be used against him at some point?

I've never heard Ted refer to a female officer as 'that wee girl' in the past, it doesn't ring true.

ActuallyThatsSUPREMECommander · 03/04/2017 07:45

Thandie substituted a sample of Ifield's blood for the sample they took from the splash of her blood nespresso.

My assumption - which may be way out - is that when she opened her eyes Ifield recoiled, because he's really not a killer, just an oddball who panicked. He wasn't going to knowingly murder her but she understandably thought he was, and pushed his hands with the chainsaw away, and onto his neck.

Where is the chainsaw we wonder, and was it the same one used to dismember Leonie?

wowfudge · 03/04/2017 07:47

Right - I am up to date with the thread. Tim's fingers were removed post death otherwise there's have been more bleeding out from his hand. So no accident there.

Some thoughts on what's going on: Lots of focussing on the numberplate of Roz's car last night and someone has mentioned her husband drives the same car. He swaps the numberplates and uses her car on occasion. With her working the investigations it explains away DNA contamination somehow if they don't pick up on chassis numbers. Or she is setting him up and is using his car.

The head injury is going to catch up with her - the defence injury scratches were given a lot of attention last night, but she was wincing, looking tired, etc so I think she is going to collapse which means she can't control things. I think the head injury also explains mishearing 13 as 30.

MILLYmo0se · 03/04/2017 07:49

I was wondering about that too tribpot, the 'wee girl's seemed to be everywhere last night between references to the victims and TN-the 'darling' seemed odd,but has he he used terms like 'sonny-jim' in similiar circumstances with men before? Im thinking yes,but maybe not

wowfudge · 03/04/2017 07:49

Oh and 12 year old Jodie is going to come up with something that blows everything apart. She can't be a sycophant forever.

Whywaitfortomorrow · 03/04/2017 08:07

I am joining Adrian Dunbar fan club and hoping he doesn't turn out to be the ultimate 'bent copper'.
Not sure where this series is going but I like theory up thread about killer being Roz's husband and her trying to cover up. She has had to work hard to get to where she is and she's not going to let anything get in the way.
But that episode was so clunky and some parts so over done that I had to remind myself it is a drama not a comedy. Like the blood on worktop and reference in HUGE writing on glove. It's almost as if TN's acting can't cut the mustard so these points have to be over emphasised. To be fair, for a main character, she hasn't been given much dialogue. Maybe if she had more to say I might warm to her and find her more believable.
Sexism in workplace definitely seems to be an undercurrent bubbling away.

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 03/04/2017 08:10

What on Earth happened there?

One minute she was lifeless with a chainsaw about to cut her up next we know it turns out she killed him?

How did that happen? Did I miss an entire episode?

Whywaitfortomorrow · 03/04/2017 08:16

Oh and that bit about Michael Farmer learning to drive etc etc. Much has been made of him being a vulnerable adult but I don't think he's in the league of victim/criminal mastermind a la Edward Norton. He's being stitched up but I wouldn't want to be prosecuting him based on flimsy case so far.

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 03/04/2017 08:17

I think I've got it.

Forensic Tim is a copycat, not the real killer.
TN wakes up, he recoils, she gets away. Or someone else comes in and kills him, she then has to clean up because she cannot explain why she was in his house. The real killer has the fingers, not TN.

We still have the real killer on the loose, and TN can't afford to find him because ha will implicate her in the Forensic Tim murder.

Whywaitfortomorrow · 03/04/2017 08:17

Chardonnay at some point laptop will be found and we will get to see what really happened. Hopefully before last episode.

ButtonMooooon · 03/04/2017 08:20

The point Chardonnay made about someone else coming in would tie in with her husband pulling up outside and being the actual killer as mentioned upthread

Whywaitfortomorrow · 03/04/2017 08:25

Maybe that would explain awkward dinner table conversation with kids over on sofa - act as if everything is normal ?

ButtonMooooon · 03/04/2017 08:27

I thought that was just her acting Grin

Whywaitfortomorrow · 03/04/2017 08:28

Grin Button

PollyPerky · 03/04/2017 08:30

If the killer was Roz's husband, why would she be hiding the scratches/ cuts on her wrists from him?

The basic flaw in this is that it's unlikely- though not impossible- that a woman could overpower a man who was almost straddling her with a chainsaw. There may have been an accident when the saw slipped, (as it was a superficial wound) if they had a tussle, and I suppose she could plead self defence. In which case why has she covered up?

Tim wasn't the killer. He may have been a bit pervy- wanting the waitress to come to his flat- but he's not the killer.

The interesting dynamics are between Kate and Steve- I predict some incident in line where they aren't open with each other and the rivalry threatens the catching of the killer.

There is sexism but don't forget that in the last series Dunbar had a fling with a colleague hence his supposed reticence to be seen in a pub with Kate after work.

Huntley is being a bit too clever by half- managing to swop forensic stuff always in the nick of time etc. I suppose for me it stretches credibility a bit and I feel we're being manipulated by the writer.

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 03/04/2017 08:30

I really don't see how she can get out of this without help.

So now she coverings up for herself being there, for the real killer and for the framing of the first suspect.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 03/04/2017 08:31

Why does she keep looking at her wrist?

Shame Jason Watkins was written out so early he is a great actor
