Starting this one as I finished last one...

So, Daniela I think will win as it looks like it's been written/plotted that way since the beginning..

I don't think Daniela is either outstandingly good or bad - she's fine, she's okay.

That's why the mega enthusiasm of the judges is so weird.

The first time she appeared, Daniel and Kelly bigger her up so much, I thought - 'Does she know them?' - it was just like ridiculous.

But here she is in the final - quelle surprise!

Saw it coming from her first appearance and it had nothing to do with her design - and everything to do with what the judges were signalling in the voiceover.

'Hey viewers, Daniela is good, good good...'

Bit brainwashy without ever really explaining why she is better than the others.

I don't think she's bad - but there is not enough discernible difference to justify the bigging up that she gets.

Written in the stars eh?

Tiles - did you check out my link to these ones? I just had another look at Oliver's kitchen and they're pretty close. We have very similar tiles in our bathroom in another colour - love 'em.

Cocolepew · 21/01/2017 19:00

How dare he?! Shock

hollyisalovelyname · 21/01/2017 19:04

Is it in today's Daily Mail Style magazine ?

Dillite2 · 21/01/2017 19:54

Daniela's website could do with an awful lot of proofreading. And for a photographer it has an awful lot of terrible photographs- I hate that overexposed style of photography.

I must admit Oliver's rooms were always very blue.
but good luck to all of them

msrisotto · 22/01/2017 09:20

I've only just found this show and this thread! [wails]

Oliver actually designed. Whether it was your flavour or not, hers was just white - easy, anyone could do that.

Doolallylally · 22/01/2017 15:57

What a travesty! I hated her rooms, especially the clinical waiting room! I've loved this series previously but this run wasn't great. Most weeks they seemed to eliminate the contestant I thought had done well and who the home owners liked best.

On a different note, I do hope they ditch Kelly Hoppen.

ppeatfruit · 22/01/2017 17:34

msrisotto You forget that Dan's white paint was 'embellished ' with strange (looked like vaginas) fake grey marble paintwork. Not in ONE but in almost ALL her rooms (oh except for the weird boats and landscape one in white and grey too, which she felt was like the impressionists DUH!!!!).

If I had been the homeowner I'd 've been ready with a roller and a large tin of paint to go over it immediately Grin

msrisotto · 22/01/2017 19:37

Ah yes the 'artwork'. She was very overconfident of her abilities there wasn't she? What did she say? Monet did it? That boat.....

Dillite2 · 22/01/2017 23:11

These tiles look similar to the ones that Oliver used www.tileflair.co.uk/product/Tinte-Ash-Blue-Gloss

Olympiathequeen · 23/01/2017 06:08

Not keen on Kelly either. Why is she so orange? She seems hypercritical at times, and Daniela shouldn't have won. Agree with the mortuary comment and the dreadful finish.

Doolallylally · 23/01/2017 08:40

Yes she is very orange!

ppeatfruit · 23/01/2017 12:46

There was a poster previously (sorry I don't know which page it was on) who put a pic. up of the sun god and likened it to our Kelly. I preferred her 'up do' actually, IMO she has tried to join up her freckles with fake tan!!

lucydogz · 23/01/2017 13:06

About the awful boat in the mutual. If you look again, it was at that point she handed the paint pot to a distinctly unimpressed assistant saying 'you do it, it's easy'. So I don't think the boat is Daniella's (not that the rest isn't crap)

lucydogz · 23/01/2017 13:07

MURIAL!

ppeatfruit · 23/01/2017 13:50

Yes lucydogz The mural was totally crap. (even worse than the 'marble' look painting effects) How the judges allowed any of them I have no idea it's not as if they were 'cutting edge' Grin.

Dani was not very good with her assistants|work people IMO.

Mystery solved

From Her website

Daniela Tasca York isn’t short on accolades, and for such a young age, has an inspiring amount of achievements under her belt; from graduating with a 1st Class BA Hons Degree in Fashion & Textiles, winning Protégé Project, Stand Design and Portfolio at Graduate Fashion Week and 2009’s winner of Society of Dyers and Colourists designer of the year award, it was without doubt her career journey would start at some of the UK’s most renown Fashion Brands, most notably Matches and Burberry.
During her 15 years of fashion design, Vogue and Elle featured Daniela’s designs, gaining credibility for her work after industry experts celebrated them such as Alexandra Schulman and Olivia Palermo.
Her love of travel beckoned, and her desire to explore Ibiza and Mallorca was the start of Daniela’s serious journey into Interior Design – she has always felt at ease adding her distinctive aesthetic into the most modest of spaces, however, it wasn’t until she moved to the White Isle, that her style began to shine and the influence of the Mediterranean sun saw her minimalist style grow within her own homes.
3 years later, she and her family returned to their UK roots, seeking new encounters with her ever evolving creativity, Daniela decided to enter The Great Interior Design Challenge. Now, after being crowned winner of the 2017 show, Daniela has gone on to work alongside Kelly Hoppen, assisting with client projects, styling, and consultation. Daniela has no doubt shown the world her ability to flourish within the realm of interiors.

Why did they keep saying she was a photographer when she worked 15 years in fashion and textiles?!

Trollspoopglitter · 23/01/2017 14:05

Bold fail

Try again
Daniela has gone on to work alongside Kelly Hoppen, assisting with client projects, styling, and consultation

Trollspoopglitter · 23/01/2017 14:07

Wait, isn't she only 30? There's poetic license and then there's just looking like an idiot

ZaZathecat · 23/01/2017 14:10

Hmmm... it sounds a bit Old School Tie, in a way.

littlemissneela · 23/01/2017 15:35

After seeing some tile recommendations on another thread, I have discovered these. They look the closest to what I remember his looking like. What do you think?

NormaSmuff · 23/01/2017 16:06

do you think the young bloke that Kelly also liked will be employed by her too Hmm
seems a bit off

Dillite2 · 23/01/2017 16:26

troll that description makes it look even more like a fix now. After looking at Daniela's website, I did wonder why the hell was she allowed to use her own products?

little thosr tiles do look more like the ones on the show than the ones I linked to. Althoug the Fired Earth ones do the most, but £8 per tile? Fucking hell!

Dillite2 · 23/01/2017 16:31

What about these Laura Ashley ones? Seeing that Oliver was very fond of LA www.tonsoftiles.co.uk/artisan-duck-egg-wall-tiles-7-5x15cm.html
