Starts on Monday 2nd Jan @ 11am (new time) each day.

DH always says, "You can tell it is the new year when this deluded escapism is on!"

I for one will have it on series record. Anyone else joining me to escape to Oz each morning?

I can't get past Dad' "Peter Andre" hair. Needs a good wash.

SparklyBusinessFuckingFairyNo1 · 20/01/2017 11:28

Whatever it is with the Dad's hair, the boys have inherited it. Thoroughly unlikeable family, sorry not sorry

IggyPopsicle · 20/01/2017 11:29

Oldraver. I was thinking the same thing. Bleurgh!

WinterWander · 20/01/2017 11:29

What was his salary? I missed it.

Iamtheresurrection · 20/01/2017 11:30

I think they said £60k.

Vagndidit · 20/01/2017 11:31

Agreed about his hair. Ick.

I'm just not seeing any of the positives they're supposedly seeing. I think they just want their own house with a pool.

IggyPopsicle · 20/01/2017 11:31

Winter He was quoted around £79,000, I think. He said it was similar to his current salary.

WinterWander · 20/01/2017 11:32

Thanks IAm

WinterWander · 20/01/2017 11:33

Wow £79k. No wonder they have a huge house - over £100k in total.

kilmuir · 20/01/2017 11:34

Was it me or is the Uk house a bit sterile

Oldraver · 20/01/2017 11:36

£125 for electricity..? Bloody hell that's good for that great huge house.

Yesterday there was a huge difference between UK and Aus...with Aus being three times as much...is that because of Air Con ?

WinterWander · 20/01/2017 11:37

They have 'motivational' writing on the wall - DH keeps suggesting we have something written on the living room wall - I keep ignoring the suggestion! Grin

IggyPopsicle · 20/01/2017 11:44

Jeez what a boring family.

Cherrypie32 · 20/01/2017 11:45

Yep boring and joyless. Get out more at home and have a laugh!

MadisonAvenue · 20/01/2017 12:58

Such a dull family! And bloody hell - his hair!

conkerpods · 20/01/2017 13:58

I can't bear slogans on walls,or letters. For example 'SOAK' written in the bathroom,'FAMILY' in the lounge etc. So naff.
And yes, open plan living!!We have a kitchen diner but I wouldn't want the lounge in there as well.

conkerpods · 20/01/2017 14:10

Oh my,just read the update for today's family Shock

wideboy26 · 20/01/2017 16:57

I thought they were quite a nice family. The children were very polite and they seem very close with one another and the mum said how nice it was that the children played together in Aus. And it's not the children's fault that they've been brought up In a posh house - it's probably all they know! The hairstyles were a bit 1990s - that's how my sons wore their hair back then - but that doesn't make them a bad family. What you have there are two hardworking parents who earn enough to give their children a comfortable family home. Nothing wrong with that surely.

NancyDonahue · 20/01/2017 21:01

Today's family lacked that certain something that people who do make the move have, that glint in their eye and the passion to want to have something different. Their lives in the UK were very safe and settled. I can't see them ever making the move.

Vagndidit · 21/01/2017 09:58

Very interesting update on Suffolk family. Clearly they're just itching for something new to do.

kilmuir · 21/01/2017 11:17

Do tell????

Vagndidit · 21/01/2017 18:04

Suffolk family update, via WDU FB page:
"We caught up with the Williams family late last year. They are still living in the UK and the dream of a life in Australia finally seems to be over.

They have decided to stay in the UK, and in fact are selling the house they built - to do it all again! They are now looking for an old house to knock down and build their second home and start to put the family roots firmly down in their new dream home."

Or they just fancied a holiday.

wideboy26 · 21/01/2017 19:07

I wonder in fact how much of a holiday it is. They only go for a week, so not much time to get over any jet lag. Then they have to do all the filming which probably takes far longer than the edited snippets we get to see. I'd imagine they are herded around for most of the week with little downtime to do what they want.

flappynewyear · 21/01/2017 22:07

Yes a week is nothing when you have spent 20+ hours on a plane.
