Starts on Monday 2nd Jan @ 11am (new time) each day.

DH always says, "You can tell it is the new year when this deluded escapism is on!"

I for one will have it on series record. Anyone else joining me to escape to Oz each morning?

And you can't buy a fantastic house on a minimal budget. Now there's a surprise.

Vagndidit · 19/01/2017 11:17

Yeah, these two aren't going anywhere today again

Vagndidit · 19/01/2017 11:20

I've never been to Sutton Coldfield before but surely no place is worth spending your entire life there...

LunaLoveg00d · 19/01/2017 11:23

4 beds, massive rooms, walk in wardrobes, huge kitchen, huge garden, pool ..... for £250k. So much for doing her research, she;s obviously not been on the property websites.

They are very naive and won't make the move.

AllTheBabies · 19/01/2017 11:25

He relies on his personality at work?! Confused his personality seems pretty non existent!

LunaLoveg00d · 19/01/2017 11:27

65 hours a week working in a car dealership - how is that any more family friendly than in the UK? Or is it all about her??

Shenanagins · 19/01/2017 11:29

I don't want to move to Australia and even I know more about the work/house market than these two!

wideboy26 · 19/01/2017 11:30

And he said he'd be able to spend most of the week end with his family. I don't think he was listening!

AllTheBabies · 19/01/2017 11:31

I thought I'd misheard 65 hours a week! That's insane. How long is the car place open each day!

LunaLoveg00d · 19/01/2017 11:31

He's not coming across as very switched on. And their accents make it sound like their child is called Queen.

wideboy26 · 19/01/2017 11:38

The living expenses look a bit dodgy to me. It's all estimates and assumptions and I wouldn't want to base emigration on that.

LunaLoveg00d · 19/01/2017 11:40

What bugs me the most is the friends and family videos - if one of my kids wanted to emigrate I would never tell them not to or make it all about me and my feelings. I might be sad about them going but it's your job as a parent to support your kids all the way.

AllTheBabies · 19/01/2017 11:41

They never seem to factor in the cost of travelling back to the UK for visits when they do their calculations. Surely that's quite a big cost for people who are so devoted to their families.

Heatherbell1978 · 19/01/2017 12:14

Ooh haven't watched as I'm out but sounds like an annoying one! We're emigrating later next year and my life is jam packed full of spreadsheets, research and planning. I often get a bit panicked about the whole thing but compared to the knowledge of the people on the show I really don't know why!

NancyDonahue · 19/01/2017 12:28

They did seem clueless. In these days of Internet (I relocated in the days of waiting for house details in the post!) there's really no excuse for not knowing the housing market in your chosen area really well. Same with salaries and finances.

WinterWander · 19/01/2017 12:30

I always wonder why people who are obsessed by 'open plan living' don't create it in their own homes, or move to one here. You don't need to move to the other side of the world to live 'open plan'.
Similarly, folk who are blown away by a trip to a wildlife park should maybe visit the ones here - they may enjoy it.
I get the fact that the weather makes life better but some of the other 'problems' these families have could be sorted closer to home.

NancyDonahue · 19/01/2017 12:41

Open plan is my idea of hell. I'd end up hiding from the kids in my bedroom.

wideboy26 · 19/01/2017 13:55

Open plan: you can hear the tv all over the house and cooking smells permeate the whole house too!

GoldenGumballs · 19/01/2017 14:25

I used to love this but Nickys' nasal narrating is really irritating me......'oh dear is this the end of the dream?' Or ' it's all down to the final House to keep the dream alive' yeah cos if you don't like these 3 houses just give up.
These 2 def staying in Sutton C though I loved their house. He just wants somewhere to show off to his mates billybigballs.

wideboy26 · 19/01/2017 21:07

I thought their house in Sutton Coldfield was lovely too. They've done a lot to it.

Vagndidit · 20/01/2017 11:07

If today's family moves to Oz, I'd happily take their house in Suffolk. Gorgeous Envy

UntilTheCowsComeHome · 20/01/2017 11:17

I don't like this family. The ungrateful kids are annoying me "it's just not as big as the one we have at home in our fucking huge expensive perfect house "

Probably just jealous though. Grin

Oldraver · 20/01/2017 11:21

What's going off with the Dads hair ? it just looks greasy mess

Iamtheresurrection · 20/01/2017 11:27

I didn't think his employment opportunities were as positive as he though they were.

WinterWander · 20/01/2017 11:28

What a huge budget for the house!
I always find it weird when kids say 'adult' things like: "it's got the wow factor", "it's a good compromise".
