Breward · 31/12/2016 21:52

Starts on Monday 2nd Jan @ 11am (new time) each day.

DH always says, "You can tell it is the new year when this deluded escapism is on!"

I for one will have it on series record. Anyone else joining me to escape to Oz each morning?

Very princessy! She just needs to get a life!

Badcat666 · 06/01/2017 11:41

Oh FFS. She wanted it and now it's all "I don't see where MY life would fit in..." I don't know, get a job perhaps? Your children aren't babies anymore.

Vagndidit · 06/01/2017 11:41

Gah. She bugs. They'll go and be back in 18 months because she hasn't found her "tribe", or something.

wideboy26 · 06/01/2017 11:43

Oh blimey - the grizzling relatives

LIZS · 06/01/2017 11:43

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 06/01/2017 11:44

Thank you Smile

I do get cross when one partner has been moaning that the working partner is "never home" (because they have to work long hours to pay for everything) but then find other things to moan/ sulk about once they find out the working partner can work shorter hours and have more money at the end of the month if they move.

It's like they just want to complain about everything without actually doing something to themselves to change the situation. Grinds my gears that does.

NancyDonahue · 06/01/2017 11:57

Poor man. He is well and truly hen pecked.

Heatherbell1978 · 06/01/2017 12:03

She strikes me as someone who pre-kids did a lot of travelling and adventurous activities and loves a project to keep her busy. She loves her village but is bored. I get the need for a new project or activity to focus her mind but as said previously, a job could fit that gap rather than moving her family and their life to the other side of the world for reasons that seem a bit unclear. She kind of reminds me of me as I always have something new on the go and love a project but then I do work....(as a project manager😂).

SwedishEdith · 06/01/2017 12:32

The update is bizarre. Still in UK, Arabella has started school so Jo has given up her job to spend more time with her family .

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 06/01/2017 12:39

But it said she was already a SAHM. I'm confused it doesn't take much

LIZS · 06/01/2017 14:28

Maybe she was officially on a career break after ml. She said she'd been at home for 4 years, so presumably had returned to work after first child.

conkerpods · 07/01/2017 23:19

I haven't been to NZ or Austrailia, and I find it amazing that people want to emigrate to a country they've never even visited before!
Also, the houses in NZ always seem a bit dark and drab compared to what you can get in Oz.

megletthesecond · 08/01/2017 13:36

Marking my place. I'm going to tape it this week.

NancyDonahue · 09/01/2017 11:21

I like today's family. They have a lot to gain from a move to a sunnier country.

LIZS · 09/01/2017 11:24

I missed the beginning , what had happened to their house and the dad?

NancyDonahue · 09/01/2017 11:30

They had a house fire, he was in the house and 2 weeks later he was in a car accident which left him badly injured.

NancyDonahue · 09/01/2017 11:32

It's similar to the young couple about two years ago. The guy had had a motorbike accident. They were lovely and I'm sure they made the move. Anyone remember them?

kmmr · 09/01/2017 11:47

We moved to Sydney in 2015, and I can tell you there are many english here. I think the show just doesn't work with the crazy property market in Sydney. People will be imagining a house near a beach, not a 2 hour commute to a flat or townhouse miles away.

The salaries here are higher in some professions, but unless you have a massive deposit and two high paying jobs, getting a property is very hard. Many couples work very hard to fund their homes, while paying $100+ a day for childcare. Work life balance is much harder than you'd expect.

However, I am sad to be missing it! One of my favorite shows!

fourquenelles · 09/01/2017 11:50

Fab update about this couple on the FB page. Warmed the cockles of my old heart.

NancyDonahue · 09/01/2017 11:54

So pleased for them. I must admit to shedding a tear at this one.

VintagePerfumista · 09/01/2017 11:55

Oh, I didn't know this was here!

WDU is my guilty pleasure (though I spend the entire hour screeching obscenities at them)

May be in a minority but am v glad that Nottinghamshire boy ditched whiny brat woman who was happy for him to work 60 hrs a week but still moaned about cushion covers and happy for his brother to have to sleep on the sofa when his parents took them in and then whined how cramped it was.

I liked Lisa the childcare manager much more than I thought I was going to.

Off to the FB page!
