Starts on Monday 2nd Jan @ 11am (new time) each day.

DH always says, "You can tell it is the new year when this deluded escapism is on!"

I for one will have it on series record. Anyone else joining me to escape to Oz each morning?

A prime example of something I said upthread: she is dead against uprooting from dull old England (nothing wrong with that) and yet she must have known when they got together that he had a hankering to emigrate. And yet another couple who really don't have the budget for the sort of house they think they'll be moving into in Australia. Neighbours has a lot to answer for.

poppadoppadom · 26/01/2017 11:27

She's perked up a bit about potential salary.

LunaLoveg00d · 26/01/2017 11:28

Why on earth do people not do their homework before going?? It's not that hard to google and research to see if your qualifications from the UK would transfer. Numpties.

wideboy26 · 26/01/2017 11:31

I think WDU should consider mixing some of these families up a bit. You could then have couples who both want to move and others who are happy to stay in the UK.

Vagndidit · 26/01/2017 11:33

I sure hope she has slathered on her suncream...

wideboy26 · 26/01/2017 11:34

So you work long hours in the UK. Worthwhile jobs do require a lot from you, but that's the investment you make for the job satisfaction and monetary rewards you get in return.

Akire · 26/01/2017 11:37

I'm confused, why are they so obsessed about the houses they few? Surely it gives them a general idea of sort of space indoor/outdoors can get for dosh. They way they go on about wallpaper, hallways, or very specific things it's like they MUST buy one of the houses they are shown. It's just bizzare!

BobbinThreadbare123 · 26/01/2017 11:38

These people are among the most annoying I have ever seen on this programme. The woman is so negative and the boy is a carbon copy.

NancyDonahue · 26/01/2017 11:39

I've only just started watching this one.

Cheer up love, you're on a free holiday!

inaclearingstandsaboxer · 26/01/2017 11:42

50 hours a week!!! If only!!!!!!!!!!

inaclearingstandsaboxer · 26/01/2017 11:44

And there you are.... They got a free holiday

witchofzog · 26/01/2017 11:49

They could have done their research from home. Surely if he has to retrain he will not possess the necessary skills to be able to move anyway. She doesn't want to go at all and it will probably break them if they do move . Their house isn't worth as much as they thought and the cost of living is significantly higher than they expected. And as for the "Family time". They could have gone to their local town centre or Nottingham / Birmingham and had a burger from a van there. Its not exactly unique to Oz. They didn't need to go out there for this but hey ho. They get a free holiday Hmm Evelyn is very cute though 😊

wideboy26 · 26/01/2017 11:53

Perhaps she'll get some peace now, so it was definitely worth the effort from her point of view.

loobylou10 · 26/01/2017 12:12

Does anyone else get REALLY irritated by the way Nikki Chapman pronounces the values/costs of houses - 'two hudred a fifty nine thousand pounds' 'eight hudred a twenty thousand pounds' Makes me irrational and I want to shout at the TV.

witchofzog · 26/01/2017 12:40

Good point wideboy

flappynewyear · 26/01/2017 13:16

They got a really raw deal in terms of the "lifestyle day"; a walk around the town square and a burger from a van! He then went on to say that they needed to do things like this Hmm It's not exactly rocket science?

Heatherbell1978 · 26/01/2017 13:19

I'm watching it now and she's really annoying me. You're not actually going to buy any of these houses love so does it matter about the tiling? At least it's not looking too sunny in Melbourne while they're there since she hates the sun...Confused

MadisonAvenue · 26/01/2017 13:29

Just seen the update on Facebook. She's just stringing him along. In three years there'll be a reason why they can't go just then....

"The Reeves Sibson family were recently in touch to let us know they are still living in the UK.
After their trial week, they spent a few more weeks in a different area of Melbourne and absolutely loved it.
They have now decided to move to Australia in three years. They would really love to move sooner but need to save more money before making the move.
The family are moving house shortly and the kids have also got some new pet rabbits. Despite the new exciting developments in the UK - they’re all missing the Australian weather big time!"

NancyDonahue · 26/01/2017 14:35

They're not going. I'd put a tenner on it Grin

228agreenend · 27/01/2017 11:11

Seem a pleasant family today. I think they go if the money stacks up. She has already made the decesion, and he doen't have strong objections to go.

NancyDonahue · 27/01/2017 11:14

I like them too. Very refreshing after yesterday's moanfest.

Vagndidit · 27/01/2017 11:15

I think they'll go as well. They've lived abroad before, so obviously not just looking for a nice holiday.

AllTheBabies · 27/01/2017 11:17

I did laugh when the first shots of them in their New Zealand house were her wanting to go back inside and the kids playing in their rooms just like back in the UK Grin

228agreenend · 27/01/2017 11:25

Brownie points for Candice. She has done online research! Most seem to have done nothing.

LIZS · 27/01/2017 11:25

Why can't she work in uk, might help with her mood and settling issues.
