19 kids and counting / safety

Followed Sue and Noel Radford and family on our tv programmes & see they have a new show on tomorrow (29/12/16).

Something I don't get is child safety in this and other larger families.

I mean I had 3 under 7 and I watch 2.5y old all the time, even when he is in older siblings room as there's bunk beds etc and even dressing up clothes can be dangerous

I know the Radford's have super high bunk beds and they always have around 4 kids under 6y I wonder how they supervise them? Or do you think kids like these and in other larger families are in hospital much more often ?

I pointed out something similar but got deleted 🙄

I saw your post was deleted Liv but I couldn't remember what it was you'd said. Couldn't remember it being in poor taste or anything though. I know that an age gap becomes less important as you get older and indeed, DH and I have a 5 year gap. However if as a working 17 year old he'd been hanging about my school trying to pick up 13 year olds, I'm sure the police would have got involved. We didn't meet until I was 27 btw so 27 and 32 is perfectly acceptable.

I 'm not interested in playing detectives tbh. I posted on the thread as I come from a large family. You just come over as overly defensive about the wrong things. People are entitled to have an opinion on things that others are putting in the common domain.

I don't think that anyone has been overly nasty but am prepared for that to be disputed. I think I've read most of the thread but I haven't committed the contents to memory or a spreadsheet.

I've probably over the years watched most of the programmes but I wouldn't say I have any type of obsession about them. I would say that invariably the children all seem to come across very well, so someone is doing a decent enough job with them.

From what I can remember, I don't seem to recall there being many friends, so unless you are the Australian woman from that creepy couple, I'd say you must be a relative.

I don't think it matters who you are, tbh. You're not doing the file any favours by being so childish and aggressive.

The Radfords have sold their lives to the media. People don't have to like them or agree with the lifestyle they've chosen. There areany things that have been voluntarily put on the public domain that people have an opinion on. A 17 year old getting a 13 year old pregnant is one of them. Removing door handles to keep children in their room at night is another. Constantly saying publicly "we don't receive benefits" without acknowledging cb or tc really pisses people off. They should be honest about that or stop using it as their strap line. And, you know, wouldn't we all love an all expenses paid holiday to Australia?

There are many other things that people find annoying about them. The Radfords are far from a perfect family.
