Hi
Followed Sue and Noel Radford and family on our tv programmes & see they have a new show on tomorrow (29/12/16).

Something I don't get is child safety in this and other larger families.

I mean I had 3 under 7 and I watch 2.5y old all the time, even when he is in older siblings room as there's bunk beds etc and even dressing up clothes can be dangerous

I know the Radford's have super high bunk beds and they always have around 4 kids under 6y I wonder how they supervise them? Or do you think kids like these and in other larger families are in hospital much more often ?

OP posts:

You do sound a bit neurotic, OP! I have four dc and I don't follow my two year old around in case of accidents with bunk beds and dressing up clothes! I even let them all play in the garden together! I didn't when I had fewer children either. Nobody here has ever been to A&E.

woesinwonderland · 02/01/2017 12:12

Yes it seemed really staged. I don't believe that the coincidence about the Oz father being adopted was only discovered whilst they were there.

It is turning out like the Duggars. They had to keep changing the vein of their programme and doing road trips, meet ups etc when Michelle stopped having babies. The programme then focused on the lives of the eldest children who are rapidly reproducing. They too are reliant on the money.

I predict the Radfords will buy a house out in the sticks and there will be a renovation programme, just like the Duggars.

I suppose if you can afford the kids without poncing off the state then each to their own...I couldn't do it! However, in this case I just feel they are doing it for celeb status and media interest. As soon as things go quiet for this family they have another baby, I wouldn't be surprised if they were under a contract with Channel 4 to keep producing more children! Hmm

BratFarrarsPony · 04/01/2017 22:07

bollocks stoopido - obviously they 'ponce off the state' as you so charmingly put it, just as we all do.
Tax credits, CB, NHS healthcare, state schools.....

seasidesally · 05/01/2017 09:19

yes we all take of the state but they take enough in one family what possibly six+ familys take

and its continuing with the daughter that already has a few children already

"Ahh, did I touch a nerve?!"

well no , not particularly. If you do not 'ponce off the state' in any way I would be very surprised.

Beebeeeight · 05/01/2017 18:26

It's more efficient in society for fewer couples to have more children than everyone to have one.

Just watched the programme after reading this thread. Does anyone know where I can watch their other programmes?

PabloEscobarReallyLovesHisKids · 05/01/2017 20:17

@Beebeeeight why is that?

EggnoggAndMulledWine · 05/01/2017 22:00

I think it's a bit unfair calling Noel a paedo, growing up there was always groups of girls who were thirteen and going out with groups of seventeen year olds etc. Guys are more immature than girls so they were of similar mindsets. And back then it wasn't a frowned upon with the age difference as it is now.

I did find all the sex talk quite cringes but am in awe of how well they manage. I couldn't with that many kids. I'd be demented for sure.

Janieanne65 · 13/01/2017 13:52

I was thinking that...what do bakers earn.i bet family allowance is astronomical ...

AltheaThoon · 13/01/2017 16:53

"And back then it wasn't a frowned upon with the age difference as it is now."

Well quite, what with corporal punishment in schools and vulnerable children being abused by the rich and famous, children weren't particularly cared about. Doesn't make it right though. There's something odd about a man of 18 having a relationship with a girl of 14.

I don't think Noel came across well in this episode. He seems very controlling. He doesnt mention (or its edited out) what impact the pregnancies are having on Sue's health. He just seems to want more at any cost. And he clearly hasn't dealt with gis issues around being adopted.

IIso found the sex talk cringe. I wonder if sue treats her daughters like girlfriends. I dont suppose she's had much time or opportunity to make friends and nurture friendships. It's quite sad really.

Msqueen33 · 13/01/2017 17:11

I wonder if they have friends. Her health does seem to have suffered and yet he still talks about more babies.

woesinwonderland · 13/01/2017 18:04

Well the fans loved the sex talk judging by the comments. It's just weird that they seem to have rebranded themselves completely with this show, they have gone from the hardworking, reliant-on-no one, benefits refusers to a "we're mad about the sex".

Apparently they (Sue and Noel) have enjoyed this programme the most and hope that there will be more.

Noel's insistence that there will be more babies put me off him, it was as if he was saying Sue had no say in it.

Mistletoze · 13/01/2017 19:31

I've just watched the latest programme.

It goes without saying that the production company paid for the Australia trip.

It was uncomfortable viewing - the two mothers had been emailing each other for some years but the Australian mother was shocked by the kangaroo Skippy pie and came across as controlling and stern.

They insisted that the UK children address them as "Mr" and "Mrs" but the Radcliffe kids seemed to think this odd.

The Oz kids have to help out with chores and the Radcliffe family thought this strange.

It was a strange update on a family that seems to normalise underage sex and teenage relationships.

Justanormalmummy · 20/01/2017 09:35

I have never read so much rubbish speculation in my life 😂 I am a friend of the Radfords, my family go on holiday with them and we have spent a considerable amount of time with them!! Sue is 100% far from having special educational needs and noel is certainly not controlling 😂 However, what is apparent after reading the majority of posts on this thread, is that most of you don't have a life or a sex life!! Considering you are all on MN posting about the Radfords, instead of spending time with your families over the christmas period, I mean surely as a mum you shouldn't be allowed any free time?! So as a really good friend of Sue and Noel, all I can do is laugh at your speculation, none of which are remotely close to the truth 😂😂

Also regarding sue having a low level of education, maybe some of you should proof read your posts and maybe spell check them. I couldn't help but notice the poor spelling and grammatical errors........people in glass houses and all that.......#nobodyisperfect 😘

Mistletoze · 20/01/2017 09:44

I keep getting their name wrong!

The only thing I find dodgy is how long Sue was when Noel got her pregnant.

Msqueen33 · 20/01/2017 09:49

Justanormalmummy are you a clinical psychologist?

I suppose you would say they're lovely as why would you be friends with them otherwise. Maybe they should be more particular about what happens when the cameras are recording. Sadly you and they need to take the good opinions with the bad.

As you're good friends could I ask about why they lock their kids doors at night. They admitted it on a show.

woesinwonderland · 20/01/2017 10:03

However, what is apparent after reading the majority of posts on this thread, is that most of you don't have a life or a sex life!!

Emm, how did you come to that conclusion?! You can have a (very good) sex life without having 19 children to prove it, or talking about it on national tv. That is you making rubbish speculation.

Afreshstartplease · 20/01/2017 10:08

I wonder if this is the same friend who posted on the other thread

AssembleTheMinions · 20/01/2017 10:22

Justanormalmummy It's always a good idea to proof read your own posts before you criticise others. #epicfailrightthere
