Oh - I'm more confused now.

Might have to watch again now and get some hints from the clothing and surroundings.

I imagine he was quite young - maybe looked older due to being ill?

notaflyingmonkey · 23/03/2017 22:21

Very good episode, well played out.

(I think Williams' dad could have been killed in Vietnam which was later than WW2).

BlueCowWonders · 23/03/2017 22:53

Or Korean War?

MakeItStopNeville · 24/03/2017 00:50

The Memphis episode is my absolute favourite of the entire season (and I've seen them all). It was so beautifully done and I cried like a baby all the way through.

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 24/03/2017 09:17

Love this show, its so well done. Poor Randal and William Sad

BadTasteFlump · 24/03/2017 12:39

Incredible episode - I was blubbing when Wiiliam walked towards his mums outstreched arms as an old man at the end 😭. Beautifully written.

Missed Jack's lovely face in this episide though!

gincamelbak · 24/03/2017 13:29

It was William as a little boy and toddler that got me.

And him saying that the two people who meant the most to him were at the start and end of his life. crying a little just thinking about that

I do feel a little bit anxious just waiting for Jack to die. And why did the mum end up with Miguel?

vjg13 · 25/03/2017 19:40

Good grief, was crying from the start. Really enjoying this series, beautifully shot and thoughtful stories.

CurbsideProphet · 25/03/2017 20:49

I just watched the latest episode and cried my eyes out. I never usually cry at tv programmes. That episode was heart-wrenching and beautiful.

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 26/03/2017 13:40

I'm dreading Jack's death Sad I will need to passed tissues and a gripGrin

ShuttyTown · 26/03/2017 20:42

Oh my goodness. Sobbed my whole way through that episode. Always makes me think of my kids and their life and what memories I'm leaving them with. Love this show ❤️

Figgygal · 26/03/2017 20:47

Despite the schmaltz factor being up to 11 I love this programme. Cried buckets this week and last week when Kevin ran to Randall's aid.

I usually read up on spoilers for tv shows but am trying desperately hard not to do it with this

Allice · 28/03/2017 19:16

Just spent the last few days watching the whole series, I love it. The last one was a killer 😢

Graphista · 28/03/2017 21:40

Just seen last weeks episode, beautiful and heartbreaking. Jack and William are so similar (though appear on the surface not to be).

I'm thinking it was Korean War William's father was drafted for making William born early 50's so almost 30 when Randall was born.

I was doing ok till he thanked jack for 'doing what I couldn't' SadSadSad

I like that we're seeing that Kevin's not as superficial as people think him - still in love with childhood sweetheart, knowing when his brother (who he doesn't have an easy relationship with) needs him.

Graphista · 28/03/2017 22:47

Not getting any easier to watch Sad but can't not.

DispatchReady · 29/03/2017 10:06

Another snot fest for me watching this week - Beth, the daughter I never had Sad

Do we think Jack's going to die in a car crash after drinking? Sad

BadTasteFlump · 29/03/2017 10:14

No I don't think so - only because they've set it up so obviously so I think they want you to think that's going to happen, iyswim.

Bit gutted that it's the last epside next week Sad. Slightly worried they may not show the second series here as the first one is on at such a duff time of night.

Destinysdaughter · 29/03/2017 10:34

God, they'd better bloody show it, it's one of the best things on ( terrestrial ) TV at the moment!

BadTasteFlump · 29/03/2017 10:41

Agree! And Jack is just lovely, which helps Grin

DispatchReady · 29/03/2017 13:23

Is it the last one next week? Presumably we'll see what happens to Jack then - more sobbing!!

BubbleBed · 29/03/2017 21:09

The actress playing young Kate is brilliant casting

BadTasteFlump · 30/03/2017 14:01

Yes I thought that too Bubble - the young actors playing the brothers are clearly different people, but Kate could really be Kate.

Really looking forward to the final episode - but dreading it too and stockpiling tissues!

Gallavich · 31/03/2017 08:47

Oh man that episode just killed me. What else could it be if not a drunk driving accident?

OutToGetYou · 02/04/2017 11:56

Still not happy with Toby! Why does he keep pressing Kate and getting grumpy with her - what's wrong with "I know it's hard, I'm here whenever you're ready" and then just be kind to her?

Anyway, yes, this most recent ep was brilliant. I liked Rebecca telling Randall that he got his kindness from William. And Randall jacking in the job.

gincamelbak · 02/04/2017 17:59

I hope Kate dumps Toby. He just irritates me now Grin

I like the FUNeral. And Beth's postcard finished me off.
