I am still enjoying this, although in this week's episode it struck me that it hasn't really moved on much. We still don't know what happened to Jack although I guess the glimpse at the end means we might find out next week...did look like they were teens.

EachandEveryone · 03/03/2017 21:30

Yes but how many episodes is it in now? I don't give it much time. It's trying to be Parebthood/Brothers and Sisters but they were far more superior we actually cared for the characters and neither of them survived on UK tv. I'd love to know the ratings for this.

ArriettyClock1 are you catching up on recordings, or watching on RTE? Just the seatbelt extender episode was a while ago

I think this weeks was episode 13.

EachandEveryone · 03/03/2017 22:05

I don't really know where it's going do you?

OP posts:
TizzyDongue · 03/03/2017 22:33

I don't either. It's just about their lives at 30 and how they deal with it; and how their childhood affect them. I like it, especially as the childhood seems fairly innocuous.

EachandEveryone · 03/03/2017 23:18

So how where will season 2 go? I don't know how much I can invest in it after this one.

Cocky horse boy

Glad Kate yelled in class

I thought middle teens when died so 14/16

Wasn't dad really drinking then?

Destinysdaughter · 03/03/2017 23:57

I think there's 3 series of it!

ArriettyClock1 · 04/03/2017 00:25

TizzyDongue, I am watching it via Kodi streaming, so waaaay behind.

ihatethecold · 05/03/2017 10:15

I loved this weeks episode. I watched last night.
So many great emotional parts.
Randall and his dad driving the car,
Dad vogueing with Kate at her party,
Kate shouting in her class,
Toby giving Kevin the chat about love in the bar,
The teens at their dads funeral.

I love it more each week.

SightHoundSista · 05/03/2017 22:12

I thought this week was good.

Andylion · 06/03/2017 03:52

Its taken me an embarrassingly long time to figure out the dad is Jess from Gilmore Girls.

Milo is the reason I began to watch it. Milo and Sterling. Wink

ittooshallpass · 06/03/2017 04:45

I have no idea who/ what the Gilmore Girls is, but I am enjoying This Is Us. Lol.

Not sure why people are sobbing through every episode though?! I haven't cried yet. Confused

ihatethecold · 06/03/2017 06:58

I'm not sobbing but I do find it emotional to watch.

BadTasteFlump · 06/03/2017 22:16

I've just caught up with the latest episode and I struggled to watch it Sad

I started watching it as I have a bit of a thing for Milo.... but the storyline surrounding his character is really getting me down. I lost my dad suddenly in my teens and it's resonating with me a bit too well - I've just spent the past hour trying to stop myself blubbing then the last scene at the funeral did me in Sad

ihatethecold · 07/03/2017 06:37

Badtaste.
It's ok to have a good cry and remember your dad.
Hope you're ok Flowers

BadTasteFlump · 07/03/2017 09:50

Aw thank you ihate Smile

Yes I'm ok thank you, it's a long time ago that it happened so getting so emotional about it caught me out a bit ...

BubbleBed · 07/03/2017 21:01

Did Sophie say that she hadn't seen her ex husband for 12 years, but they're 30? So they married really young?

Yes, agree they were teens. Also think that their mum is holding hands with Miguel at the funeral......

BadTasteFlump · 07/03/2017 22:07

I think the series started on their 36th birthdays, but yes she did say 12 years.

I didn't notice the holding hands thing - I need to see it again now!

EachandEveryone · 08/03/2017 02:53

So married at 24. Anyone else expecting Rebecca/Emily Brothers and Sisters/Revenge to turn up? It's so her thing.

OP posts:
BubbleBed · 08/03/2017 21:33

I thought Jack was going to drop dead last night!

BubbleBed · 08/03/2017 21:34

And yes youre right they turned 36!

HairsprayQueen · 08/03/2017 21:53

I really dislike Toby. I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt but he is just irritating.

Obviously I don't know what will pan out etc and the horse guy is a dick too but I hope it shows Kate that she doesn't have to settle for someone not quite right just because someone likes her.

Destinysdaughter · 09/03/2017 17:13

I love Toby! Kind, warm, funny, what's not to like?

Choccywoccyhooha · 09/03/2017 19:16

Ohhh, I love Toby, though he was a dick last night. In fact, I thought that last night's episode should have been titled "Men are dicks." Toby gatecrashing Kate's retreat, Kevin expecting Sophie to just fall back in love when it suits him, Randall being grumpy and horse guy being a douche.
