Only just watched this as I forgot about it! Hmmm that was more like a mid season episode, kept waiting for something to happen Jack to die and the triplets weren't even in it really! Definitely agree the William episode and this should have been swapped! But I'll still eagerly await season 2 saddo

I may not have been paying complete attention as I was waiting for a truck to slam into the house or for him to collapse with a heart attack or for SOMETHING to happen.

Haha me too! I think the whole "when is jack going to die" thing got a bit silly really, stop tricking us!! It detracts from the story a bit.

Aah! Thanks!

ThePlatypusAlwaysTriumphs, no she just thought she could be. Test was negative.

I also don't think they split up permanently, but ever moving out temporarily is very dramatic after an argument isn't it?

Is Randell's wife still pregnant? I thought she was but now they're on about adopting I'm thinking I might have missed something (think I might have missed one episode)

Just watched it, and I agree TizzyDongue, it was exhausting waiting for Jack to come to an unfortunate end!

Me and himself have had one or two fights like that over the last 20 years, and they have usually been resolved after a day of sulking, a bit of a chat, mutual apologies and a shag! No separation required.

Mind you, if my DH ever made a speech like Jack did I think I would die of shock!

When is series 2 starting?

Just caught up with it and was also expecting to find out how Jack died. I think what Kate said about causing his death may have been a red herring and wasn't to do with the night at the club as they made you think. It may be to do with a totally different thing happening. Really loved this series x

I don't think they've split up permanently though - I think they'll get back together in the next series.

I didn't think it was left with them splitting up? But that he was leaving for a few days but his big emotional speech worked and the breathing space would be temporary.

I may not have been paying complete attention as I was waiting for a truck to slam into the house or for him to collapse with a heart attack or for SOMETHING to happen.

I forgot Kate sang at the start of the series!

I think they were referring to her saying she was miserable and had no life of her own, and that she felt like a ghost. And to him saying that her career was a 'joke'. So the inference was that they couldn't continue as they were because they were both unhappy with the situation.

But I agree, they always seemed so solid and in love previously, I don't understand why one argument, no matter how big, could mean he had to leave. I wouldn't have let him leave anyway Grin

BubbleBed · 06/04/2017 12:19

Tizzy I wasn't sure of that either. She kept referencing something they'd said they couldn't take back, but tbh i didn't catch it, it just seemed a heated argument.

Yes it was very overrated. I was expecting Brothers and Sisters or Parenthood but it lacked something. I never really took to them. I dont know how they are planning on spinning it out.

I'd accidentally read a spoiler when it finished in the US that it wasn't said how Jack died so wasn't surprised but it was just a blah episode for a series finale.

This series was so up and down- a week of really good, lots happening, tears and drama and then weeks of meh not much going on. I know lots of people liked the slower weeks to learn the intricacies and background of the characters but I feel like I made a big investment of time and actually didn't get too much back.

Kate wants to be a singer, Randal wants to adopt a baby, Kevin is with the ex wife

What I don't get I'd the major leap to Jack leaving - one big argument. After all the things they've worked through reasonably they have an argument and the solution is he moves out!

EachandEveryone · 05/04/2017 23:13

What a let down that was. I was so bored i didnt catch what happened to rhe triplets? Anything major?

I feel they could have swooped the final with the previous episode. We would still have got the parents back story but the previous episode was more of a finale type episode really.

Was that the last one of the series!!? Really!!

Kept expecting Jack to die:

First on the way to the club, crashed because of driving while drunk, but he didn't.

Then I expected his drunk driving death to occur he same with his rushing out from the club. Except he didn't rush off.

Then expected her to crash as they argued on the way him, but they didn't.

The was thinking he'd leave, get in the car and crash after the argument.

Then was wondering if he'd die during the night.

Waiting for his death as EXHAUSTING!!

Just caught up with the last episode tonight. It was good, as they all have been, but I was expecting to find out how Jack died!

I really reeeeeally hope they don't stretch the story out over too many series (producers of Lost, I'm looking at you).

BubbleBed · 05/04/2017 21:25

Any idea when it's likely to return?

I'm sad they separated. I was hoping their love story would keep going, and he'd died rather than leave :-(

Gah yes sorry Graphista you said Kate didn't you... Her character sang in a care home on one of the early episodes and I remember thinking she really could sing.

I expected more from this episode. Although it did tie up all the loose threads. all three 'children' made important decisions.

Wish we had found out what happened to Jack though.

Mandy Moore used to be married to Ryan Adams. Swoon.

No I meant Chrissy Metz not Mandy Moore I KNOW Mandy Moore.

In the last episode Kate says career she wants to do is singing so I thought is she a singer? Googled and there's videos titled 'wow Chrissy Metz singing' as if she is amazing - she's really not she wouldn't get through first rounds of X factor/bgt.
