Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life WITH SPOILERS

Further to the other GG thread, this thread is for discussion of the four feature-length episodes which will drop on Netflix on Friday 25 November.

The thread may contain spoilers both for the original seven series of GG AND for GG:AYITL.

I was expecting the ending to be Rory having a baby and the 4 words to be,
"Her name is Lorelai"

The Life and Death Brigade are still entitled twats. why is it supposed to be amusing that they're so rich they can do/buy whatever they like?

Dunno what that trailer was that I saw, will have to Google later to see if there has been something with all the same characters in!
And I don't think it was stuff that ended up on cutting room floor! Although some of the storylines may have been started and cut.

Life and death brigade are awful. What was that cheesy montage?

I hate when shows have a main character write a book about their lives. They did it in gossip girl and one tree hill too. Rory should have kept at the journalism thing. If she had put any effort into her interview she would have been in.

I liked it overall though.

So I got to ten minutes before the end of summer and had to stop, I've ODed on Gilmore Girls.

I really didn't like the musical bit, it went on far too long and felt like filler. Jess is looking good though.

Ending not a shock but annoying not to know... I'm wary of putting a spoiler on even though the thread title clearly states there's spoilers as that's a biggie.

Who played Emily's new boyfriend? It's driving me crazy trying to figure out where I've seen him. I don't remember the character's name.

Selfishly I hope this is NOT the end but sadly I think it will be given all the main actors have gone on to such success elsewhere.

I stayed off the thread when I saw spoilers in the title. Til done.

I have just binged. I'm sorry to say I was disappointed.

The musical stuff was awful, clumsy, heavy handed and took up a good half hour unnecessarily. That entire episode "Summer" was dreadful.
The musical though it takes up so much time and basically doesn't feature any beloved characters - why pad it out with randoms?

Paris OWNS IT when she is there but there wasn't enough of her.

Did they basically pay Keiko Agena to stand in the background of scenes?

Sookie was missed and blink and you'll miss Jackson.

Hated the fact that Rory was AGAIN having no morals about shagging someone elses DP.

I always rather enjoyed the Life And Death gang.

Emily was also a highlight. And SOME but not all Lorelei stuff. And that Michel has a husband, but I would've liked to meet him.

Didn't like how some characters felt so shoehorned which is why the musical was such a slap in the face

I thought Berta as a character was a bit weird, and there were many other scenes where people were not in the same room - Sookie and Michel for example. And Jess and Rory in the Gazette offices.

And how was Emily going to get to the wedding on time?

Aw, I feel rather bereft now it's all over. Really wish Rory and Jess ended up together but now it looks as though she's bound to Logan. Although that's probably what the chat to Christopher was in regards to (I thought it was just background for the book at first). Totally agree not enough Paris, she is fantastic.

Agree that it's shit that Rory would be the OW again, apparently having learned nothing from the first time. And that it was presented as somehow romantic.

I really enjoyed it but I have been left rather disappointed with the last 4 words and how Lane has faired in life.
Really enjoyed Emily calling Lorelai out on her shit and also the DAR scene.
Paris, Kirk, Andrew and Mory are my favourites.

I thought there would be something more about the letter Emily was convinced she'd received from Lorelai, that Lorelai insisted she'd never sent!
