I've just finished watching Winter. It was like meeting an old friend you used to be really close to but you haven't seen for years. At first you're a bit nervous, have they changed, have you changed, but then apart from everyone looking a bit older the connection is still the same.
A few observations-
The show has now let Michel (sp?) be an openly gay character rather than a camp man whose sexuality is never referred to.
There seemed to be more focus on showing Lorelai as being as flawed as Emily, which I liked. I've always felt it's actually their relationship which is the catalyst in the show not Rory and Lorelei's.
Paul Ankara the dog is still around, which even if he was just out of puppyhood in the original series makes him a pretty old dog by now.
Luke has a sign in his diner saying "no man buns".
The actress playing Miss Patty has lost an awful lot of weight.
Older Kirk is surprisingly attractive.
Off to watch Spring now.
