Anyone else watching this madness?!

The vera wang dress was pretty, but it did look an odd colour! I like strapless gowns, but the brides always seem to be fussing with the top of the bodice of them, I couldn't wear one now, I am too busty !
Which guy did the scientists say didn't have the 'nesting gene'? surely out of 3,500 applicants that was bad to put two people together who didn't have the same feelings about children? The best man/ woman that Adam had was stunning - even my DH looked up from his phone when she appeared. Not sure who will stay together - I don't think Clark and Melissa will.

squoosh · 28/10/2016 16:59

I was wondering about the 'nesting gene'. Is that a physical thing? The way they spoke firmly about who had it and who didn't made me wonder.

squoosh · 28/10/2016 17:00

I mean it can't be a physical thing can it? Stoopid question. But the word 'gene' threw me.

The80sweregreat · 28/10/2016 17:32

Dunno, i have never heard of it, only people saying it when your having a child and around 8 months the desire to clean / decorate everything kicks in! Well, theydid in my day..
If someone said i dont want children then they should be with someone who is the same, especially as they are tested on everything. Its all very odd and unnatural.

Naicehamshop · 28/10/2016 20:21

I have a bad feeling about Clark and Melissa, not sure why...

I was completely wrong about both couples last time, though. Grin

LoisWooookersonsLastNerve · 29/10/2016 09:55

I hadn't heard of the nesting gene either. I don't think any amount of matching genes would convince me to marry a stranger. Grin Morbidly fascinated by this 'experiment', I can't see Clark and Melissa working either.

The80sweregreat · 29/10/2016 10:00

lois, up thread some have said that one of the American couples have stayed together and have children!

I think that a lot of people applied as just wanted to be on TV , or have a big wedding! ( cynical really but it is a fascinating programme!) I like the lady in the vera wang dress though, she seems genuine.

LoisWooookersonsLastNerve · 29/10/2016 11:25

I liked Doug and Jamie from the American version, they are still together. She didn't like him at all to start with. Adam and Vera Wang seem lovely people so fingers crossed. In my day you just staggered up to someone in the pub...

The80sweregreat · 29/10/2016 12:42

lois,i met my dh in a club, a seedy dive that we all loved! I had met him once before months before we started going out but I so drunk I didn't really remember it much. happy days. we are opposites in most things tbh, some people only gave us 6 months at our wedding and its been 27 years this year. On line dating must be daunting but I have a friend who met through dateline, pre internet days, where you used to sign up and then have to ring each other up on a landline, then meet up! they were married for 17 years but sadly broke up 8 years ago. That was scientific to a degree - might be something in it. Really do not know why we are attracted to some and not others - people often go 'he isn't my type' but others are keen - its so weird human nature. it fascinates me.

LoisWooookersonsLastNerve · 29/10/2016 12:54

Aww 27 years. I think science and psychology can get you so far but the rest is something you just can't explain. I always hated guys with long hair and yet married one Grin The tinder 'swiping' thing that people are doing now would terrify me but maybe its not that different to walking round a club looking.

The80sweregreat · 29/10/2016 13:00

I guess not - I suppose online dating you can weed out the ones you don't like the look off and be more careful, just meeting randoms in a club or bar wasn't without its faults too. I too hate long hair, tattoos ( but eldest son and hubby both have one now and I hate it) piercings, etc, there are always things we like and dislike about how people are. To get married to a complete stranger is very brave thinking about it!

Naicehamshop · 01/11/2016 20:26

Looking forward to tonight's episode!

FoofFighter · 01/11/2016 20:52

Placemarking :)

Stumbled across this TV series by accident, watching the second in the series first. I (unlike most of this thread!) think Clark and Melissa could be a goer, definitely some chemistry there I also think they did it wedding night!

David Cameron and Vera Wang Dress - hmmm, something about that partnering makes me feel uneasy, I can't quite put my finger on it, DC reminds me of my exh (no animosity there, still friends!)

FoofFighter · 01/11/2016 21:12

They're going to match Lucie with the firefighter they keep showing l reckon...

MitzyLeFrouf · 01/11/2016 21:25

Is Adam not a bit geezerish for Sara?

FoofFighter · 01/11/2016 21:29

ooh I was wrong

FoofFighter · 01/11/2016 21:30

She's a younger copy of his mother definitely, wonder why the boffs haven't commented on that at all?

Hattieboomboom · 01/11/2016 21:37

When do we find out how they all get on, does anyone know?

MitzyLeFrouf · 01/11/2016 21:39

After the wedding episodes they do the marriage episodes. So next week.

Chippednailvarnishing · 01/11/2016 21:39

Lucy irritates me. A lot

MitzyLeFrouf · 01/11/2016 21:42

Yes she's irritating me a bit too. I think her husband will be too timid for her.

Chippednailvarnishing · 01/11/2016 21:45

Her friends are almost as bad.

MrsSchadenfreude · 01/11/2016 21:49

Clark and Melissa are apparently still together. Smile

Lucy is slightly odd looking, I think - like she might have overdone the botox.

BastardGoDarkly · 01/11/2016 21:51

I thought it was sad when'Cameron Adam' said if she never wanted sex that would be fine too. He was so desperate for a partner :(

I fell asleep before the end of that one, but liked Caroline's dress, and her in general :)

Clarke and Melissa so dtd

That girl who said she looks like Bridget Jones - she really, really doesn't.
