For those who loved it last time, will you watch after the let down of the ending? (Well I felt it was a let down, don't think there was a proper conclusion at all and still room for doubts as to whether he was still alive or not).

I loved it though and will definitely be watching the next series. I've seen the trailer and it looks very very good. Julian (think that was his name) is still in it. Looks like it is based on JayCee Dugard/Elizabeth Fritz type cases where they have gone missing as children and reappeared years later.

Cannot wait!

My first thought is excitement, but then I remember how it ended up. Are there another eleventy million episodes? Slight exaggeration, but wish it had just been 4 episodes. Will watch it.

Bagina · 07/10/2016 21:00

Wow, just getting thoughts of the guy knocking on the doors of the flats...

RaeSkywalker · 07/10/2016 21:04

I was so annoyed by the ending of the last series (which was really long), I can't be arsed to commit to it again. I feel
The same about Marcella!

Bagina · 07/10/2016 21:06

Bloody Marcella! What is good, is Paranoid.

HarryPottersMagicWand · 07/10/2016 21:14

I didn't watch Marcella but wondered if I should. I just saw the bits from Gogglebox Grin.

I wonder how many episodes this one will be.

Doctor Foster back too. Sorry, I know this is about The Missing.

HarryPottersMagicWand · 07/10/2016 21:56

I didn't watch that either and only saw bits on Gogglebox. Bit gutted actually as it looked really good.

I got into it through Gogglebox; they were all going mad at the telly, weren't they! I thought, I've got to watch this!!!

DereksGotATail · 07/10/2016 22:23

There was a review for The Missing on TV this morning. It's a different story and done from another angle although the French policeman is still in it. A child who went missing 11 years ago turns up and, from what I gathered, the series deals with the repercussions. Keeley Hawes is one of the main characters.
I was disappointed with the first series but I'm willing to give this a go.

Hooray! Thanks.

Thanks for the heads up on Dr Foster too!
Happy Days!

I will be watching but it doesnt sound too different to the tv programme Thirteen that was on a few months ago.

GirlOverboard · 08/10/2016 20:57

I thought the ending to series one was perfect. Realistically you knew the child was dead, but without a body you always have that tiny glimmer of hope that he might still be alive, no matter how implausible that might be. It really made me appreciate how hard it must be for real life parents of abducted children to live their lives with that uncertainty hanging over them.

Anyway, I'm really looking forward to series two, especially after the glowing review from Kevin O'Sullivan on The Wright Stuff yesterday.

Scarydinosaurs · 08/10/2016 21:00

Oh yes! I was disappointed by the ending, but loved the French detective, so will 100% watch the next one.

Lilaclily · 08/10/2016 21:02

I'm with girloverboard, I don't understand the disappointment with the ending, it was clear what happened but he just couldn't accept it :-(

Manumission · 08/10/2016 21:05

Baptiste is still in it?! Oh please let it be true 😄

HarryPottersMagicWand · 08/10/2016 21:12

Baptiste is definitely in it, as are his wife and daughter.

For me, it wasn't a definitive ending. We didn't actually know that Ollie died. The man saying it just told James Nesbitt that they were going to sort it. I wanted to know for definite. I don't do hints and guessing Grin.

Scarydinosaurs · 08/10/2016 21:27

I was disappointed because I so wanted a tiny bit of happiness for them- at least for them as a couple. I thought it was a believable and well constructed ending.

Manumission · 08/10/2016 21:28

Excellent. Where's that photo of him with his teddy? 😉

I thought it was a bit of a sloppy epilogue too, although I took it as a lame attempt to tantalise us into thinking there was doubt so that we'd clamour for a second series. I forgive them though. It was a great series unlike the dreadful effort about the murderer killed in a car crash in remote Scotland which was the writers' recent effort

BeyondPolkadots · 10/10/2016 15:56

The ending of S1 was a bit...meh. Possibly because we on mn had built it up expecting something so much more complicated etc.

Looking forward to S2 :)

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/10/2016 21:50

Enjoyed s1 but as others have said very pissed off with the ending. I want to know for sure - dead or found alive

Marchella - not so bad as assume s2 will pick up from
Ending of 1

Did she kill him or not ......

Princecharlesfirstwife · 11/10/2016 12:45

I thought the ending of S1 was really good - there's really no need for spoon feeding a 'happy ending'. The little boy was dead, and everyone else had accepted that fact except for James Nesbitt who despite finding the answer could not let go of his obsession. It was horribly sad but a better ending than finding the child miraculously alive in Russia.

Baptiste is my silver fox crush. Can not wait for tomorrow night.

Bagina · 12/10/2016 20:36

Ooohh tonight!!!

Manumission · 12/10/2016 21:08

What time? Am I missing it?

BBC iPlayer have just launched 'play from the start' for mid-broadcast programmes. Is this my chance to try it?

Bagina · 12/10/2016 21:19

Yes!

Manumission · 12/10/2016 21:19

Shit
