I wondered if she was upduffed too but seeing her in the zorb ball thing in the vt footage on Saturday means she can't be.

How do we know?

I find the fact that we see the judges vote on who to save is a bit of a give away

But "how the series is set up" includes all the rules, including those relating to what is to happen in the event that a dance-off isn't possible so the judges can't decide who goes. In that event it seems perfectly sensible to go by the public vote alone, as they do in the final.

Have watched the Results Show again.

Anastasia did appear to milk the 'poor me' card. She is injured but it was naughty of her to do that.

The consequence was Melvin was booted off. The more I think about it the more unfair that was.

If someone had to go she should have bowed out.

It must have happened all in a rush for her though. If, (foolishly) she and Brendan and the Doctor hadn't already worked through what was going to happen if she was in the dance off then she'd have been put on the spot very suddenly, while still in some pain. I have some sympathy for her not saying the right thing immediately.

I thought that saying "It's not our fault!" in that snippet right at the end was pretty unlikeable but also rather mean of the editors.

It's kind of irrelevant that Marvin went though, even if he was in for another week he'd still be voted out next week so he was going to go anyway.

I'm surprised she was surprised to be in the dance off. She was very stiff and I doubt I'm the only person who doesn't know who she is

To me an injury is different to a family emergency that may be settled in a couple of days. It's an intense rehearsal schedule with weekly dances. If you have a serious injury that affects your dancing you should go

Anastasia did appear to milk the 'poor me' card. She is injured but it was naughty of her to do that.

But she was asked about the injury, she could hardly ignore the question. And if she had shrugged it off and said it wasn't a problem, people would have been really slagging her off when it turned out the medics said she shouldn't dance again.

Presumably she will go if her injury doesn't get any better. However, on Saturday night she had no means of knowing how bad it was, whether it would affect her practice and if so how much, or whether the next dance could be choreographed to give it time to heal. After all, people have done fine when illness or work commitments have stopped them from practising for large chunks of the week. It would make no sense to bow out unless the medics were telling her she had to.

On IT2 tonight, Karen Hardy attempted to teach the proper Tango hold with tucked under buttocks with Zoe.They were both wearing black and Karen stepped with her front leg forwards in between Zoe's legs and I couldn't make out what was going on.

I was mesmerized by their heels. How on earth can they even stand upright in those, let alone walk, let alone dance?

Playing the 'poor me' card though influences the outcome. She could have humbly said - l am too injured to do the dance off and left it to the producers to decide what next.

It created a pressure for Melvin to go. That was unfair.

I personally think they both should have stayed in one more week.

Very true Polkadots Grin If they seem long to the audience esp. us at home (when we can sit with our feet up and have a nice snack!) then it must seem petrifying to the contestants and pros 'made' to stand and watch it all upstairs Grin

Fiderer Snap ! (I try to limit my time on here by going between The Archers and this thread). Grin

It was nothing to do with 'pressure' - the SCD rules meant Melvin had to go. Whether she had said she was too injured to perform or the doctor had made that decision would have made no difference. Those are the rules.

And they couldn't have let him stay in another week - the whole programme's format is based on someone going home every week.

Christ, the poor woman has had a double mastectomy and other women are accusing her of 'milking it'. So much for the sisterhood Hmm

Maybe you'll get the 10. GrouchyKiwi marked me down to a 9 for my spatula hands in my Bounce.

I doubt very much they do have such rules. It's has never happened before.

If it is a rule - it's unfair that Melvin is penalised. I'm sticking up for Melvin. Someone's got to.

It's fairer that they both stay in and change the the format down the line - maybe have two eliminations one week.

And that by the way - is not a good argument!

Report
LadyConstanceDeCoverlet · 04/10/2016 09:59

They were never going to have anyone staying in in the third week. It wouldn't work to have three dances in succession with no elimination. But I don't see how you can claim the rule doesn't exist unless you've actually seen the rules. I see no reason why they wouldn't have thought of this eventuality and provided for it, given that some of the dances involve quite dangerous moves that can cause injury, and given that they have to provide for a range of circumstances that might prevent a dance-off.

Going back to Louise - why on earth is she saying she will wear tight fitting clothes if she loses weight? That's no better than saying she is covering up out of respect to her husband.

And and and .....Louise has a lovely figure.
I dont understand her point in covering up.

Despite the frenzy that was whipped up on Twitter this weekend everyone will have forgotten about it in about 2 weeks anyway

Do you remember a few years ago the controversy that saw Gabby Logan and a Penny with the long legs in the dance off together, with Gabby going out? She was quite a bit better than some of the others and there was quite the storm at the time. Then everyone remembered it was just a tv show and no one can really remember the injustice of it now

I don't get Louise - maybe she's realised that she looks shit?

You're right Queen - there's a big drama every year which is quickly forgotten!
