Although I'm old enough to remember it first time round, I've just ploughed my way through all five series on sky box sets. I'd forgotten how good it was, I'm looking forward to watching the new series when it starts again in the autumn.

Thank you DadOnIce. So glad he didn't kill him, it was all getting a bit too far fetched!

DadOnIce · 19/09/2016 23:31

One thing I thought was very realistic was Pete not wanting to take the pills at first because "they're not going to cure me of being 48 and having two shit jobs." That's like the kind of thing a lot of us would say. We don't want to take pills/ have counselling because, in our heads, it isn't solving the problem, it's just accepting it.

IhatchedaSnorlax · 20/09/2016 00:00

I think David doesn't seem concerned as he's convinced of his own innocence so believes he has nothing to worry about - I hope that's true as don't want David to get into trouble!

Where is Josh?? Why has no one mentioned him??

Robyn is so vile - she's ace!

The depression seems very realistic & so glad Pete didn't kill the old man.

Loved Adam scaring creepy stalker guy!

Thought it was another great episode!

MitzyLeFrouf · 20/09/2016 11:02

The scene with the stalker made me do an actual out loud laugh. Which is rare for me!

BabyGanoush · 20/09/2016 12:53

I am worried Vaz is playing Karen as part of some business game (linked to those oroperties in China scam David is involved in)

DiegeticMuch · 20/09/2016 14:20

Yes - I think that the Art M character is dodgy and that David will be the fall guy, somehow. This will cause a rift between him and Adam, which will result in Adam arguing with Angela and cheating with the landlady.

Pete's depression has been handled sensitively and John T continues to portray it brilliantly.

The pillow scene was powerful.

Jenny is the least interesting character for me, and Fay Ripley doesn't appeal at all as an actress. I'd rather see more of perma-irritated Robyn, who has been written and acted so well.

James Nesbit looks a bit strange. He's going down the David Guest enhancements route and is too thin. I don't buy him as someone who could've attracted wealthy, clever, pretty Angela. Very good actor though.

MitzyLeFrouf · 20/09/2016 14:25

I love Karen's tuxedo. That sharp tailored look really suits her.

mintthins · 20/09/2016 14:27

I found Pete's descriptions of his depression really moving last night. I suffered a couple of years ago, and never managed to fully verbalise it to DH. Watching it together last night was like being able to finally tell him how I felt then, and why I worry if I feel it creeping back now.

www.radiotimes.com/news/2016-09-19/where-did-we-leave-the-cold-feet-gang-and-what-are-they-up-to-now

Apparently Josh is on his gap year although I don't recall any of them saying this in the episodes so far?

BestIsWest · 20/09/2016 19:03

I lov,ed Karen's shirt that she wore with the tuxedo. Wonder where it was from?

southeastdweller · 20/09/2016 19:29

Totally agree about finding it weird about nobody challenging 15 year old Matt was having sex. And how old is Ellie?

GrumpyOldBag · 20/09/2016 20:33

The first 2 episodes were OK, but just watched the 3rd and think it's a bit crap really.

Just not believable, and rather depressing. Cliche ridden. And I don't really care.

Shame. Don't think I'll bother with any more.

dalek · 20/09/2016 20:52

I think David will realise that the still loves Karen and leave Robyn - but Karen will be with Art Malik.

Adam will definitely get it on with Air BnB lady - she has a married lover - why not 2?

Don'tt hink James Bolan character will be really rich but I do think he will change his will to leave his house to Pete - so a reasonable inheritance - his kids will obviously go after Pete and he will give it to him.

I haven't rewatched the earlier ones but as I recall Karen was always quite horrible to David and belittled him a lot - I only seem to remember a few tender moments between them. So I wasn't surprised when he ended up with Robyn - but feel a bit sorry for him now.

And yes I have hugely age inappropriate crush on Matthew - have has since I saw him in Cucumber - in which he was brilliant.

Also agree - I miss Ramona but there is no reason for her to be in it anymore - unless she is the wife of Jenny's crazy stalker

dalek · 20/09/2016 20:55

Also agree that Hermione Norris has had fillers - she is much tighter and puffier than in the photos (google image) from earlier series, but luckily she looks amazing and not Rene Zellweger plastic.

On a different note I also think that Sharon Osbourne looks amazing - although I realise that I am in a very small minority.

The80sweregreat · 20/09/2016 20:55

James nesbit 's eyebrows are scary, should have their own twitter account. I wonder if he has made any more Missing series that was on last year. That was good.
I do like Pete. He is my favouite. Bless him.

AnnieNoMouse · 20/09/2016 21:26

The80s The Missing is coming back soon, its been advertised on BBC, but without Nesbitt. THe French detective Julien(?) will be in it.

KathyBeale · 20/09/2016 21:46

Ramona is going to be in Hollyoaks soon.

The baby in the first episode is Josh, not Adam. Pete and Jenny were TTC at the start.

I am loving the new series. I think it's great.

The80sweregreat · 20/09/2016 21:54

Annie, thats good to hear. I loved that series.

IhatchedaSnorlax · 20/09/2016 22:37

Where is Josh though?

I'd also like them to update on Ramona (I know I can make up my own ending for her, but I'd like them to tell me!).

Blondeshavemorefun · 21/09/2016 22:54

Knew DAVID cheated at cycling

No way he could caught them up

Art is quite sexy

IhatchedaSnorlax · 21/09/2016 23:00

I thought David pretended to cheat to make Pete feel better after what Jenny said to Adam about Pete always coming last!

JacquettaWoodville · 22/09/2016 00:34

Me too, I think he pretended.

DadOnIce · 22/09/2016 10:17

I think if he pretended to cheat they'd have just had him saying it. Presenting it as a genuine flashback is a bit cheaty on the part of the producers if it didn't actually happen! I know some shows do this, though.

JacquettaWoodville · 22/09/2016 10:18

Pete wouldn't have been able to keep up with either of them in a race anyway, I suspect, given both were better cyclists!

BuntyFigglesworthSpiffington · 22/09/2016 10:21

He definitely cheated. Otherwise they wouldn't have had flashbacks.
