Although I'm old enough to remember it first time round, I've just ploughed my way through all five series on sky box sets. I'd forgotten how good it was, I'm looking forward to watching the new series when it starts again in the autumn.

Liked it a lot - although all very unlikely! And Tina is very not believable, she just doesn't seem at all real. But nevertheless I've loved it, I'm so sad it's over!

purpleme12 · 25/10/2016 21:02

I really liked it too. I feel like more than before but I wasn't a religious watcher then and maybe I enjoyed this more cos I'm older. I must have been a teenager last time

LadyConstanceDeCoverlet · 25/10/2016 21:57

Ramona yelling "Bite his balls" when David and Ed were fighting made me laugh.

Dozer · 25/10/2016 23:29

Fun episode, and great to see Ramona. Agree that Josh was well cast, as were all the DC IMO.

The stoical shopkeeper reminded me of some of my relatives! Could've done without that scene, uneccessary.

Yes, surely the actor playing Tina is ten years younger than james Nesbitt?

Liked David saying to Art that Karen would deal with the proposals in the order they were received Smile

shins · 26/10/2016 00:48

15 years younger!

Dozer · 26/10/2016 09:24

15! That's typical sexist casting then.

loinnir · 26/10/2016 14:54

Angela was even younger! I hope that Ramona knew Josh and Juan were together - it would be mean if Josh did that to her. I always hated how they all treated Romona - she was a contemporary but treated by all of them as an inferior - because she was Spanish and a nannyHmm

Don't understand how Pete couldn't get a better job after being made redundant - he went to Uni and in the first series was an accountant.

EachandEveryone · 26/10/2016 15:56

I got the impression Ramona didn't know I thought she introduced that fella as her boyfriend?

APlaceOnTheCouch · 26/10/2016 16:00

I thought she did know but introduced him as her bf until Josh could tell his parents that he was gay. Confused

LadyConstanceDeCoverlet · 26/10/2016 17:33

With Ramona getting a job as Karen's assistant, the good news is that she is virtually bound to have a big role in the next series.

MitzyLeFrouf · 26/10/2016 17:38

Liked David saying to Art that Karen would deal with the proposals in the order they were received

Grin

Me too. I do love David.

Lilaclily · 26/10/2016 17:43

There's definitely going to be a second series
love how they didn't tie Karen and David so there's potential there and definitely love Ramona coming back

shins · 26/10/2016 18:37

No I think Ramona was acting as Josh's boyfriend's beard for the occasion.

Dozer · 26/10/2016 19:51

Hope Karen never gets back with David and continues being happily single or dating someone better than him or Art!

APlaceOnTheCouch · 26/10/2016 20:03

I loved that David knew Ramona was a 'beard' because he'd learnt about them in prison Grin

southeastdweller · 26/10/2016 20:12

The final episode was fab - I especially liked how most of the scenes were at the party as it made the episode feel somehow really intimate, and it also felt like it was the type of party I'd have liked to gone to. Looking forward to the next series and seeing how things develop with Tina and Adam.

diddl · 26/10/2016 20:17

I'm looking forward to the next series if it'll feature Ramona working for Karen!

I can't help but like David.

I loved the way he introduced Josh & Juan to Eddie & also thought it good that he said he would move out-previously I think that he'd have stayed to try to ingraciate himself.

Couldn't care less about Adam & Tina.

Was quite hoping that he would get shot.

I suppose that would have been too much though with Matthew having already lost his mum.

Dozer · 26/10/2016 20:31

Ooh you heartless viewer diddl!

diddl · 26/10/2016 20:35

I know!

Heart of stone , me.

As if anyone would choose nesbitt over Alastair Mackenzie!

No wonder they had to make him married & petulantGrin

hollyisalovelyname · 26/10/2016 20:56

Cold Feet.
It left me cold.

APlaceOnTheCouch · 26/10/2016 22:20

The only good part of the Adam/Tina storyline is that Adam isn't moving so we may see her married-Monarch-of-the-Glen-man again Grin

Allofaflumble · 27/10/2016 10:55

Bewildering that Adam/James Nesbitt is such a young woman magnet!

IhatchedaSnorlax · 27/10/2016 13:55

I'm not bewildered at all Wink - he has a certain something about him!

loinnir · 27/10/2016 15:26

I have been bewildered since series 1. He looked a right fright.

Dozer · 27/10/2016 15:30

I've never liked monarch of the glen man much either, but that could be the irritating characters he plays!
