Ok, like our sister thread for those who have read the books, this is for discussion of Outlander Series 2 but for those who have not read the books and/or don't want any spoilers.

The first time SH says it, I actually want to jump into bed with him and he second time, you can see he starts to giggle but holds it in.
Love it!

Lessstressedhemum · 29/06/2016 10:49

Are you from Edinburgh, haud? Bill Patterson has the perfect accent, doesn't he? It reminds me of my old classics professors at the uniGrin . They all sounded like that. And they all struggled with my west coast accent, but not as much as the English students did!!!
I love a good Highland accent and Sam's is v. good, as you say, all soft, rolling and breathy. I had a couple of Highland boyfriends at uni, oh how I regret letting them go, the Gaelic sweet nothings would make you go up in a blue lau.

hudyerwheesht · 29/06/2016 12:40

Near enough lessstressed - East Lothian, but spent most of my time in Edinburgh before I moved to England, still think of it as home as much as my actual wee home town 30 miles down the road.

Lucky you having Gaelic sweet nothings whispered to you - I'm obviously imagining that scene now when Jamie speaks Gaelic to Claire while she sleeps.

I want to watch that clip (even though I've probably seen it)- I'll have to watch that clip once I'm out of work....

Love that clip verbena. They're all great. I particularly like lesson 1 "Sassenach'.

snozzlemaid · 29/06/2016 16:01

That was my next question snozzle - Poldark is also my other obsession - now excuse me while I combust with envy
hud I'll make you even more jealous when I tell you that I met AT whilst they were filming the first series. Had a lovely chat too. Grin

Drywhitethanks · 29/06/2016 16:14

Bloody heck Snozzle you lucky woman!!!
I'll be joining you and Hudyer on the Poldark thread! Huge fan. Read all the books at the time of the first series, love it even more now. Can't remember much of the books, may re read them.

I love those Gaelic tutorials, great if SH to do them.

TheHiphopopotamus · 29/06/2016 16:18

Shock You lucky, lucky thing. I love Cornwall (and AT).

snozzlemaid · 29/06/2016 16:28

Book your holidays in Cornwall for September. Rumour has it they're back filming then.
Trouble is it's not so easy to get so close now. AT was just walking up the road on his own when I met him. Last year when they were filming series 2 there was much more security.

Drywhitethanks · 29/06/2016 16:51

Did you just say hello then Snozzle..... Is he tall/as good looking irl... Love him

hudyerwheesht · 29/06/2016 17:06

walking up the road on his own - good Lord, snozzle that's the kind of luck most of us can only dream of!
I live in Bristol where Being Human was filmed - the hospital was literally a minute's walk away from my work and I may have driven by the house loads a few times but did I ever see AT just walking around?
Pah! Envy

snozzlemaid · 29/06/2016 17:06

Yes. He'd just finished filming so was in full Ross Poldark costume. I asked if I could have his autograph and he was very polite and chatted. There were a few other people around but I don't think they knew who he was then, as it was before he became so well known.

I talked non stop about utter rubbish, but he was lovely to me. He's just about tall enough, but not over 6 foot. But he is stunningly gorgeous and his Irish voice is divine.
I was on an adenaline high for days.

Drywhitethanks · 30/06/2016 06:48

in his full Poldark costume Envy

OopsThereGoMyTrousers · 30/06/2016 22:27

So we know from opening episode that Claire is pregnant when she returns to 1948, and since she didn't know the outcome of Culloden, she must have "left" just before battle.
So at end of episode 12, the battle is the next day, and she still hasn't mentioned any pregnancy.

So does she know before she leaves Jamie, or does she only discover once she is back with Frank?

snozzlemaid · 30/06/2016 22:45

My lips are sealed. Nearly got me in trouble on the non-spoiler thread Wink

OopsThereGoMyTrousers · 30/06/2016 23:07

Keep em sealed!
Just checking that I hadn't missed a baby announcement!

hudyerwheesht · 01/07/2016 16:57

I was wondering about the lack if pregnancy announcement too. I'm guessing hats going to come up in the finale which will probably make that part of the storyline even more heart-breaking.
I've already seen a trailer and there's a snippet where they are at the stones and she's saying "how can I leave you?!"

Sad

Is there no new episode this morning?

snozzlemaid · 03/07/2016 18:14

No. There's no new episode as its July 4th weekend in the US.
It's the finale next week and its 90 minutes.

OopsThereGoMyTrousers · 03/07/2016 20:06

Thank you!
Lots to pack in next week...

snozzlemaid · 10/07/2016 08:08

Just watched EP13. Jesus, I proper cried for so much of it. I'm drained.
Won't say too much yet. Will give you all time to see it.

TheHiphopopotamus · 10/07/2016 10:35

Marking place. Finding that irritating character just as irritating as they were in the book though Hmm

Verbena37 · 10/07/2016 11:24

Gosh, I'm drained as well.
Thankfully hadn't applied my make up yet this morning....not sure even my waterproof mascara would have held out.

Moved beyond words.

QueenoftheAndals · 10/07/2016 13:29

Just watching it now, Caitriona's ageing makeup is beautifully done. She looks so elegant.

OopsThereGoMyTrousers · 10/07/2016 15:35

Gelliis is more irritating in 20th century than 18th
