The general theme that I'm reading on twitter is the lack of sex this season. People are speculating that it must happen at some stage for Claire to concieve Brianna. And then there's the last time just before she goes back through the stones.
Wonder if the show's crew will take any notice of the fans' feelings on this and give us more in S3.

pixieg1rl · 11/06/2016 08:47

Someone asked me how S2 compared to S1, I don't know if it's because I binge watched S1 whereas I'm watching s2 a week at a time, but it's been a bit patchy in the pacing. Obviously it's a nice change from the constant peril of S1, but it would have been good to have one less Paris episode in exchange for a bit more Scotland.

Drywhitethanks · 11/06/2016 08:57

They're obv having sex it's just were not seeing it.......Hmm

TheHiphopopotamus · 12/06/2016 09:50

Good episode this week but don't think I can watch anymore, it's too sad.

Jamie looked smokin' this week though, so I may have to force myself Wink

snozzlemaid · 12/06/2016 12:27

Culloden and when they say goodbye is going to be heartbreaking to watch. I cried loads reading it but watching it will be worse.

TheHiphopopotamus · 12/06/2016 12:33

I didn't cry at the books but I'm got a bit very tearful and blubbery today. I am going to be in bits at Culloden.

These last few eps have made me realise how much I've missed the Scottish characters. Can't help but think the next few series will be all the worse for their loss.

snozzlemaid · 12/06/2016 14:20

I'm missing them all in the books so think you're right. I wish DG had just left them all in Scotland instead of going off all over the place.

Sunnymeg · 12/06/2016 16:29

The problem with relocating the story in series 3 is that we will have a completely new cast of characters for the audience to get used to with only one or two old faces making an appearance. In the first series, I believed in the dynamic of Claire and Jamie's relationship and understood why she chose to stay with him. This series I'm not so convinced that she would want to try and return to him, the script this year has been a let down in that regard.

snozzlemaid · 12/06/2016 18:08

I completely agree. The relationship just doesn't seem to be there this series. And it's not just the lack of sex scenes. It's the lack of intimate conversations and just touching each other.

TheHiphopopotamus · 12/06/2016 18:19

Agree with both of you meg and snozzle

Although, did you see how Jamie looked at Claire when he returned from the battle? He looked like he was going to shag her there and then on the floor Blush

AKAmyself · 12/06/2016 21:34

He looked like he was going to shag her there and then on the floor

Then why didn't he? Well, obviously not there and then on the floor but it would have made perfect sense for Jamie and Claire to retreat somewhere private after the battle and just be with each other and shag. That was the part the book did so well, this juxtaposition of the horror of battle and their craving for intimacy.

I feel like a spoiled brat complaining about the lack of sex when all in all this was such a brilliant, emotionally devastating episode. I fell in love with Jamie all over again, wept over Angus and Fergus, and got myself into a right old state of indignation at how idiotic Prince Charles is!

AKAmyself · 12/06/2016 21:38

D'you reckon we get to see the Duke of Sandringham 's head in the next episode?!?

I'm looking forward to that but wonder how they'll film it. it was ridiculously complicated in the book.

TheHiphopopotamus · 12/06/2016 21:39

Then why didn't he?

I thought was hoping he might. He couldn't take his eyes off her! It would have been the perfect time.

If you're a spoilt brat, then so am I Wink Here's hoping we get some action next week.

TheHiphopopotamus · 12/06/2016 21:47

Not sure how I feel about the Duke of Sandringham bit. Yes, he's a dick but I love Simon Callow and it's yet another great character being killed off.

AKAmyself · 12/06/2016 21:50

they're all going to bugger off to Jamaica soon, anyway :(

TheHiphopopotamus · 12/06/2016 21:56

I know, it makes me sad Sad We've only just got back to Scotland too.

Next series, I want 100% Jamie in Scotland for at least the first six episodes.

snozzlemaid · 12/06/2016 22:00

I had a look back at this chapter in the book and they do indeed have sex after he returns from the battle at Prestonpans. They're both exhausted but do it nonetheless and the chapter ends with Claire falling asleep knowing she has Jamie's seed inside her. Was this when she conceived Brianna? And if so, why wasn't it in the show?

Drywhitethanks · 12/06/2016 22:13

What's happening about the part where they go to Edinb' when Claire meets BJR who asks her to help Alex and we find out about Mary's baby? Surely they can't leave that bit out? I'm sure it's before Calloden.

I think there was a lot if tenderness between then thus week.....loved it when J bowed to C as he left to fight.

TheHiphopopotamus · 12/06/2016 22:53

I'd almost forgotten about the Mary and BJR bit. He hasn't been in it much this season, wonder if that's coz he's back in GoT.

Can't imagine they'd leave it out as it's a major storyline. They've still got to introduce adult Roger and Brianna too.

I've noticed in recent pics of SH that he has the Jamie stubble as well, so hopefully that means that they're getting on with preparations for S3 and we won't have to wait two years for it.

Justbeingnosey123 · 12/06/2016 23:09

I have to say I'm getting worried now, if you list the things they still have to do,
Sandringham,
BJR/Mary/Alex
Jamie saving the lallybrouch men
Culloden
And introducing adult Briannna and Rodger (which I read somewhere is the last episode)

There is no way they can do all that and give their final night justice, and as you guys have said if they mess with that 😡

Drywhitethanks · 13/06/2016 17:27

Hang on ....3 episode left? And last one has an extra half hour.
So I predict:

Next episode we go to Edinburgh .....what else?

Next episode Calloden, Jamie saves Lallybroch men......Farewell and Culloden tragic cliff hanger for non book readers

Final bumper......Introduce B and R, We see what C and J have got up to during their time apart, reunite....lots of sex Grin

TheHiphopopotamus · 13/06/2016 17:34

I thought this series might end on a cliffhanger. Will Claire go back or not? Surely they'll devote more time to their reunion. Didn't SH tweet that we'd need loads of tissues for the last ep (I assuming tears rather than owt else).

I really can't stress enough about the lack of shagging this series. It's been a lot bit of a let down in that respect.

Justbeingnosey123 · 13/06/2016 17:40

That time line works if you miss out the Sandringham story line 😃 I'm not Expecring Claire to go back this season I'm expecting it end with her finding out Jamie lived or something similar.

TheHiphopopotamus · 13/06/2016 18:20

No I don't think she'll be go back this series nosey but someone said that this series has might run into Voyager as well. I can't see how earth they can fit it all in though.

snozzlemaid · 13/06/2016 19:37

I don't think Claire will go back to Jamie this series. That's all in Voyager so I think that'll be next series.
It'll end with her back in 1940's. Continuing the story of her and Frank that they started at the beginning of this series.
