Firstly Jill has really not dealt with the whole Josh situation and I don't blame her given the 'counselling' she received

Secondly -what happened to Derrick's face?

What's the the deal with the cousin? They mentioned an aunt who had been having some problems so M & JB are now his legal guardians! Sounds a bit sinister that they've somehow acquired another kid.

His mum is Michelle's niece.

Apparently living with people obsessed with sex who think it's ok for their oldest son to molest his sisters, is preferable to living with his unemployed, homeless mother who has a criminal record I think for stealing

Are Michelle’s parents still alive? How many siblings does she have?

Michelle's parents died quite a while ago -they were old parents to her as they already had adult children when she was born

Think she has 4 or 5 siblings, one of which is gay

But they don't follow the quiverfull movement that Michelle and Jimbob are members of so that's probably why they've never been on the show

I think Michelle is one of seven. There was an episode a few seasons ago where they all went somewhere to a big party and her dad was there and all her brothers and sisters and their families. I think her dad died when Josie was still a baby, I'm sure there was an episode where her friend who is a registered nurse came to look after Josie so she could go to the funeral I think, or go see her dad before he died maybe. I sometimes wonder if I'm too invested in this programme. 😁

I think Joy and Austin seem the most genuinely in love and equal. I'm just feeling sorry for Jinger after being happy she escaped.

Kendra seems so young, too young to start popping out babies. She looked terrified when the man was going to do her makeup. Probably though she was going to hell if she let a man touch her.

Ah I wondered what had happened as I watched Joy & Kendra's weddings and there weren't any other episodes. Thought I'd missed something since Joy's wedding was way back in May and Kendra's in September, pity there was nothing shown in between.

They need JB and M back in the program, going on road trips etc to make it more interesting.

I did notice with Joy’s list of chores in this weeks program that the boys had indoor house work chores. Now most of the older girls have gone I think Michelle has had to give them some jobs to do inside the house.

I think where Counting on falls down is it doesn't have as much focus on the religious requirements. So my DH watched a bit with me the other day and didn't realise they were following any particular religion. It was that element that made you gawp whereas now it is just some women buying wedding dresses and having kids. Jill, Jessa et al are (understandably) reserved about what they give away on camera.

@cushioncovers that's a perfect description of Kendra! Yes she has been chosen by the almighty sugars and is not worthy.

I wonder what the families wouldn't do if the women wanted to be say a doctor (or the men for that matter). I bet a lot of them would only see a female doctor for certain things, but then they also don't allow women to go to college.

Jill is a doula with a diploma basically, so she has some knowledge but nothing like the qualifications a registered midwife would have

Did we ever see her do any training in a hospital? We saw her going to someone’s house to assist with births but don’t remember anything about her going to college etc.
