Ooh, fringe makes a comeback with the ponytail.

Phew! That's more like it!

(I love this thread Grin)

hudyerwheesht · 12/04/2016 18:14

I know, there's some serious scaffolding in that dress! Grin

She looks amazing though.

hudyerwheesht · 12/04/2016 18:20

Definitely getting into ponytail Jamie.

Hud (love your username), if she was pregnant and not showing when they left and went to France and is pregnant and not showing many months later when she comes back through the stones, then obviously your timeline confusion suggests that yes, it's two different pregnancies. Both Jamie's. I think that's logic and not spoiler.

Any more info is giving too much away!

hudyerwheesht · 12/04/2016 18:52

Thanks Showofhands, think I needed that to save any further speculation/confusion.

I read a recap earlier online - when googling the below pics - that said if anyone is confused by the lack of progress of the pregnancy that not to worry, all will be explained - eventually.

Drywhitethanks · 12/04/2016 19:59

Hud is your name s Gallic thing said in the show?

Oh yes that fringe is much better.

Ooooo I've ordered Dragonfly in Amber. 'Xciting as Russell Brand would say.

Twinklestein · 12/04/2016 21:17

I think the actor himself is a bit clueless about his own hair. The interviews I saw with him for season 1 he styled it wrong - parted, off his face. Someone needs to tell him he needs a fringe.

And no shame in that, Karl Largerfeld told Claudia Schiffer the same. Wink

Drywhitethanks · 12/04/2016 21:22

Sam if you're reading we love you really and rate you as an actor , don't take hair comments to heart but get a fringeGrin

I don't know if it's Gaelic or just old Scots/slang. It's spelled wrong actually, should be haud yer wheesht. It means hold your tongue/be quiet.
Jamie said it in S1 and I got all excited that he was using my MN name, I clearly need a life.

hudyerwheesht · 12/04/2016 21:42

Dragonfly, have you read the first book?
You can't read DIA and watch s2 at the same time, that would be cheating!Grin

Twinklestein · 12/04/2016 22:04

Yes I've read the first book. Now I want to read the second. I don't think I've got the patience to wait a week between episodes to find out what happens...

Anyone annoyed they've changed the theme tune at the beginning, the first version was better.

hudyerwheesht · 12/04/2016 22:15

Oh, I'm jealous- I would be doing exactly that if I'd read the first one. I'm wondering how I'm going to cope with the week long wait also.

Agreed about the theme song, too.

hudyerwheesht · 12/04/2016 22:16

Why did I call you Dragonfly? Blush
No more Winefor me.

Twinklestein · 12/04/2016 22:23

Read the first one quickly then! It only took me a weekend. There's stuff in it that wasn't in the TV version. Def worth reading...

hudyerwheesht · 12/04/2016 22:38

Yeah that's what I've heard, may have to read it to keep me going.

I went to Doune castle aka Castle Leoch a couple of weeks ago and bored my DH with "ooh, I this is is where the scene xx was". And those lovely knitted shawl things Claire wears? Yours for a mere £140 from the gift shop. I'm not kidding.

Twinklestein · 12/04/2016 23:33

It's silly to be jealous of me reading book 2 when you could be reading book 1. I'm envious you've got that pleasure ahead of you. I might watch the first series again for good measure if my husband will stand for it

pixieg1rl · 13/04/2016 07:51

£140! Most of the knits on S1 are pretty simple and there are loads of free patterns online (intheloopknitting.com/outlander-inspired-knitting-patterns/).

Drywhitethanks · 13/04/2016 08:14

Watched Comincon on YouTube last night and SH's hair was trully awful, bit of a comb over. Interesting stuff said about the series though. Using Prague as Paris in some scenes, it will be lovely I think.
I really hope it doesn't become too farfetched going forward haven't read the books, but hearing what you say and guessing what might happen , I cant think of many series that stay great after several seasons apart from GoT, Homeland, House of Cards perhaps
Great chemistry between the two main actors.
Are we all going to start knitting scarves and wrist warmers then?Grin

OP posts:
ShowOfHands · 13/04/2016 08:52

Start knitting scarves and wrist warmers? Erm, in my defence I knitted them a long time before Outlander and um, some of them are crocheted.Grin

kuiakaituhi · 13/04/2016 09:05

We've got Episode 1 in New Zealand already . Saw it Sunday. Intriguing!
We have a pay as you go scheme called Lightbox

hudyerwheesht · 13/04/2016 09:24

They had the wrist warmers too - I can't remember how much they were, all of it was ludicrously expensive though.

Ha - my sidebar ad is showing the first 2 books - it knows!

hudyerwheesht · 13/04/2016 10:01

Twinklestein I know, I just wish I had read the first one now so I could start reading the 2nd. BUT, I just sneaked a look at the beginning of the book (DIA) and it's quite different to the beginning of the episode! Confused

I don't want to give anything away but I think it might be confusing (for me, anyway) to read it at the same time.
