...but how will we cope without Martin? Without his warmth and humour won't it be a bit bleak?

OP posts:
Piffpaffpoff · 29/11/2015 09:25

Right, I'm confused. So, the man who they arrested in pseudo-katie Hopkins' flat is her cleaner? DH and I are in dispute about this!

Piffpaffpoff · 29/11/2015 09:27

Ha ha Annie x-post! I too thought they were the same person til I was baffled by gambler being tied to a post in a warehouse while apparently simultaneously refusing to talk down the station! I think I need to concentrate more.

eddiemairswife · 29/11/2015 10:11

I also was confused and thought the two blond men were the same. Part of the problem is having to concentrate on the subtitles while most of the action takes place in darkness.

evrybuddy · 29/11/2015 10:24

I thought there were 3 young blonde men - similar age and appearance - very confusing - probably not for Swedes though!

  1. Blonde Cleaner of Vlogger
  2. Blonde Gambler
  3. Blonde teen lover of dark haired CEO

Also, when the CEO woman got home from her night out with bf and her mum phoned to say - Look at the newspapers - did newspaper headline on computer say 'Former Eurovision singer...'? caught in tryst

anonymice · 29/11/2015 10:48

Yes the newspaper said Eurovision contestant and her young lover exclusive photos. Or some such.
I am very kind to spiders in real life but I did think it was a little bit funny when Henrik hoovered up the tarantula.
And the business with the bag and carjacking Jeanette the pregnant girlfriend was a set up so that the police will identify her and the boyfriend as drugs couriers leaving Sten free of charges I think ?

TinyMonkey · 29/11/2015 10:52

The woman on the top sheet of the file was his missing wife and the children clearly his daughters, nothing to do with the CEO.

The CEO is a former Eurovision singer, hence why the fact she's having an affair being worthy of appearing on a gossip website.

Yes it was the blonde cleaner in Lise Friis/Katie Hopkin's apartment. He was clearly signposted as a wrong un from when he lied about not seeing her necklace, but then putting it on when he got home to his snake and tarantula. Looks like he killed the priest, and he tried to kill Helle Anker's widow with the plastic bag. He then went to Katie Hopkin's place and held her daughter hostage until Saga took him down.

Henrik, clearly ex military, but did his wife leave him because he's scary and tormented, or is it more sinister, Saga will crack it.

anonymice · 29/11/2015 11:32

I meant Lukas Stenstrup not Sten..many names to remember.

Cooroo · 29/11/2015 11:34

Just caught up with the thread. I'm another who confused the 2 young blond men - should we form prosopagnosiacs anonymous? How did the cleaner lad know he was being set up? I'm puzzled why he grabbed Karen.

I'm blown away by the missing wife and children - DP and I were totally puzzled by that set up and now it makes complete sense! Loving this series but I do get lost with the quick plot turns and all the people.

Was screaming LTB at pregnant woman (so pretty!) all the way through but esp at the end - WTAF??

quirkychick · 29/11/2015 12:08

Coocoo I just googled prosopagnosiacs! I originally thought the cleaner and the gambler were the same... then we saw the cleaner again, and it obviously wasn't.

The vlogger's husband is quite suspicious, too. All that "I'm not a curious man" - does that mean he does want to know what his wife is doing? Also, does he not know who uses his lorries, he seems unconcerned about the fact it was used in a murder.

The 3 connected murders/attacks which are staged show a family scene, a ghost train/fairground and a man sunbathing. Some kind of holiday connection, maybe?

RoosterCogburn · 29/11/2015 15:46

DH and I were very confused by the three young blond men - we had to rewind a couple of times to work out who was who.

I think there must be a significance in the missing body parts.
The heart - she was heartless, the penis - was he a Paedophile? The hand - did Hans accuse someone wrongly?

Also, the staged settings - the woman was in a family group, Hans at a funfair and I think the PE teacher was on a deckchair as if he was on a beach - again, it must all mean something but I don't know what!

fussychica · 29/11/2015 16:10

Mmmm bit unsatisfactory at the moment I feel. Think Saga should have taken a shot at the escaping blonde cleaner, she did have time. Currently feel there are just too many fleeting characters and not sure of the significance of some of them yet. Sure it will resolve itself but not sure it's good tv when your audience has to rewind just to make sure which blonde man was doing whatConfused

BoreOfWhabylon · 29/11/2015 16:18

Where does the father-suffocating writer with the superfan fit in to it all though?

Elendon · 29/11/2015 16:32

The first victim lost their heart, the second lost their hand, the third lost their penis/testicles.

I think Saga is going to find out something about Hans that isn't going to be pretty.

Cooroo · 29/11/2015 18:11

Maybe the father suffocating motivational guy will be the next victim? But we weren't introduced to the PE teacher before his body turned up, were we? Is gambling boy actually relevant except he shows us what a nasty piece of work Lukas is?

NeverEverAnythingEver · 29/11/2015 19:51

I am definitely not impressed with that Linn person who is Saga's temporary boss. What kind of boss make you go to personal events!? Poor old Saga. If her parents were not guilty and her sister's medical record wasn't suspicious how come they managed to escape the parents? (Can't actually remember how they escaped...)

NeverEverAnythingEver · 29/11/2015 19:52

I do like Saga. She's my role model. Wink Apart from the having sex with colleague business. That can't be a good idea ...

AgentProvocateur · 29/11/2015 19:56

I also thought the three blond boys were one and the same (That's why I never go the cinema - I can't follow a plot if people change their hair or clothes in a film!) Happy watching on TV when I can rewind or pause and ask DH for clarification on who's who. Thought last night's episodes were great, and I can't wait for next week.

NeverEverAnythingEver · 29/11/2015 19:58

I could tell the boy-who-has-an-affair-with-property-CEO was a different one but the other two ...

I'm going out next Saturday. I'll miss Dr Who AND the Bridge!!! Help!

MotherofFlagons · 29/11/2015 20:06

I was also confused between Lise's cleaner and the poker addict.

Poor Saga, I really felt for her in these episodes, first with her reaction to her father's death (and her mother's weirdly PA/controlling attitude), Linn's bossing her about and Hans's coma. The singles night was just excruciating but was never going to be anything else, and that scene with her and Henrik. Just ouch.

MrsFring · 29/11/2015 20:47

I haven't cried over The Bridge since the heartbreaking climax of series one but last nights episodes set me off again. Saga holding onto Hans ( clearly her 'real' dad ) and pouring her story out; too much pathos and so brilliantly acted.

Henrik is a fascinating character, so very astute, he makes bumbley Martin look like an amateur. Hope he doesn't turn out to be a wrong un.

NeverEverAnythingEver · 29/11/2015 20:50

I never liked Martin. He thinks he is so much more emotionally intelligent than Saga. But he's not that good, is it, if he managed to fuck up so much of his own life?

stopfaffing · 29/11/2015 20:58

never catch up is your friend Grin.

MrsFring · 29/11/2015 21:14

I agree, Never. Fat git. Martin, that is, not you.

quirkychick · 29/11/2015 21:41

The Guardian review of the past 2 episodes is good, as are the comments underneath. Lots of suggestions about a Wizard of Oz connection. No heart, Hans as Scarecrow. Not sure any of the characters in the Wizard of Oz wanted a penis, though Grin.

Henrik is definitely very good at his job. Isn't that what he tells Lillian when he asks to be assigned the case? Why, though, because he knows Saga's analytical reputation and wants her to look at the cold case for him? Or something more sinister...

NoahVale · 30/11/2015 08:12

the cleaner recognized saga, she had pointed her gun at home so he used Karen as hostage
