...but how will we cope without Martin? Without his warmth and humour won't it be a bit bleak?

I am slightly in love with Henrik. I hope they do Series 4. Imagine if they found the girls and Saga became their step-mother!

HanSolo · 20/12/2015 20:32

Imagine Saga as your step-mum!

quirkychick · 20/12/2015 21:45

I have spent ages trawling through the Guardian blog, lots of similar ideas to here.

I keep thinking about this, I might have to rewatch the last episode, superb television.

JarethTheGoblinKing · 20/12/2015 22:14

Best tv in a very long time.

Moln · 20/12/2015 23:01

Was on the edge of my seat for most of that.

But please explain to a big thicky - I evidently missed something (I was tired on episode and fighting sleep!!) - but how were Morton and Emil brothers is Emil's mother was dead and Morton's wasn't?

I don't think I should be sllowed to watch these things I always miss major things - especially as I'm rubbish with figuring out characters and tend to mix them up.

VegetablEsoup · 20/12/2015 23:05

morton's mother had trouble conceiving and freddie stepped in. the weird number is a sperm donor number.

Mince314 · 20/12/2015 23:11

I wonder how Emil found out about Morton.

Moln · 20/12/2015 23:17

So half brothers then?

What are we supposed to do know it's over. I feel empty. So empty.

ovenchips · 20/12/2015 23:22

Mince I think it was Morten who contacted Emil. Morten's mother had fairly recently told Morten that Freddie Holst was his biological father. I can't remember how, but Morten then uncovered that Freddie had also fathered another son and contacted him.

polyhymnia · 20/12/2015 23:47

I think Morten's mother actually ran the infertility clinic, didn't she ? So she had availed herself of its services to conceive Morten? Then Emil's mother had been a client.

Had to avoid the thread because DH and I only managed to watch it just now with all the craziness of Christmas. Oh my God! The destroyed, lifeless look on Saga's face when she was in front of the train tracks...fucking brilliant acting there. I also wondered if they would find the girls and she would have to become a mother figure in the future. Seriously hope they continue the series, and series 4 will be all about them trying to prove her innocence and finding his girls...leave the serial killers out of it for once.

I love Henrik!

Mince314 · 21/12/2015 18:03

oh thanks oven chips. Yes, that makes sense, that's why morten had the sperm donor's reference on his fridge. Emil found his half brother first and then his father, and he had to kill morten first becaues morten could have connected him to freddie.
morten looked about five years younger than freddie but ignore that

Mince314 · 21/12/2015 18:06

Emil's mother's name was Anna Larsson and the name of the soldier that Lukas and morton were with in Afganistan, he was Kevin Larsson. That's just a coincidence is it? I know Larsson is a very common sur name but to re-use it seems unnecessary as it's only a tv show.

Mince314 · 21/12/2015 18:09

Have you watched The Fall on netflix? I watched it when I was mourning the end of series 2 of the bridge. It was the show that best filled the chasm that the bridge left, in terms of the 'arc' story line, and collaborations between Dublin, London and Belfast gardai and metropolitan police. Good acting. Good story. You know who it is though!! So it's Cat and mouse rather than whodunnit, but really good.

Mince314 · 21/12/2015 18:10

I mean, when I was devastated that the bridge 2 was finished! I haven't managed to watch 12 episodes of the fall since Saturday night. Couuld have though :-p

WipsGlitter · 21/12/2015 22:31

I thought it was very good. I liked how she faced the same dilemma as Martin - to kill (or allow to die) the person who killed the person you loved - Martin and his son / Saga and Hans. I was hoping in the prison she was going to visit Martin.

OliviaMumsnet · 22/12/2015 23:25

The Fall is that the one with Gillian Anderson? and the really creepy attic with the book?
There was no way was I watching another series of that.

Enjoyed the Bridge but quite pleased it's over and very glad that the baby and Saga are okay
24-esque body count though, loads of murders.
DH and I were Lolling that there's only one 'copter.

Mince314 · 23/12/2015 18:53

Yes, I really enjoyed The Fall, Gillian Anderson and Jamie Dornan very good in it.

I don't know what to watch on netflix now.

The American Killing was very good. I didn't expect it to be but it was as good.

RomComPhooey · 23/12/2015 19:52

Gillian Anderson and Jamie Dornan were excellent in The Fall, but the murders were absolutely horrible - unnecessarily nasty and sadistic, I thought. There are lots of grim crime shows now, but that one was memorably awful.

ouryve · 29/12/2015 23:59

Had to avoid this thread because I've only just finished watching on my PVR, last night. Went to bed in bits!

Sorry, but Swedes sounds Geordie. Danes sound like Germans in Middlesbrough!

Even some of the words are distinctly northeastern eg hjem for home. Gannin' hjem, man.

Slightly sniggering that bra has multiple meanings as well, good, fine.

ouryve · 30/12/2015 00:24

I first saw Freddie as Monrad in 1864. Seems he was in Mammon, too, but I missed that.

Cooroo · 30/12/2015 08:20

Finally watched last episode yesterday! Felt completely wrung out. Not sure I really picked up on every twist and turn, but blown away by Saga and Henrik's acting. The final episode of Homeland disposed of the plot too quickly and spent ages on, to me, rather dull winding up. The Bridge got it absolutely right - excellent balance of suspense over Freddie and his baby, and then the 'oh my god did Saga jump' moment, her ravaged face, and then the wonderful way she finally looked straight at Henrik with complete trust. Very moving.

Pipistrella · 30/12/2015 08:23

I am still trying to get over the ending of series one!!! Having just watched that after series three...

I want to know how August was killed, when he seemed alright in that crate thing when he was lying down - did Jens kill him and then put him in the wall or did he suffocate - and how did Jens construct a wall so quickly anyway? it only took him like an hour.

Bit strange.
Other than that it was vvg

gingercat12 · 30/12/2015 18:40

Pipistrella I thought August suffocated. That is why it was imperative to get to him in time.

OP posts:
Pipistrella · 30/12/2015 19:07

Thank you...I wondered about that but he could breathe OK before and it was only a partition wall. I'd have thought it'd be quite hard to suffocate in a space like that with loads of holes in the container.
