...but how will we cope without Martin? Without his warmth and humour won't it be a bit bleak?

OP posts:
RomComPhooey · 01/12/2015 19:33

I looked up the gambling debt on xe.com to work out the £ equivalent - it was 7,500GBP and the girl managed to pull together the equivalent of 700GBP by selling her jewellery, so about 10% of the debt was paid as a result of their incredibly complex scam. I can't work out why the money lender (was it Lukas the ex-soldier/youthworker in a different setting?) was OK with that - it seems a lot of the debt to write off. Or is he going to call in the favour at a later point.

RomComPhooey · 01/12/2015 19:34

I was amazed the tarantula fitted up there!

Also, the MN advice for big spiders is to keep the vacuum running for a bit to make sure it doesn't just crawl back out.

Whatevva · 01/12/2015 20:08

I found the money thing confusing too. It is all tied up with the black bag retrieved from the locker, which was stolen by the men in the black car and then came back to them? They were then followed by the black car after they had been let off the money. As someone above said, I think they were set up for something.

I am going to have to watch it again before next week.

RoosterCogburn · 01/12/2015 20:20

I was very confused by the pregnant girl/bag scenario.

Who were the people who took it from her? They appeared to have a MrBig, but then how did it end up back with the other gang?

ChippyOik · 01/12/2015 20:23

I'm loving this! jusst watched first four episodes on iplayer. I agree with the poster who says she's learning danish/swedish! I couldn't tell them apart the first series, now I'm spotting different words used in swedish in the reply.

henrik is good. not missing martin at all.

AnnieNoMouse · 01/12/2015 20:30

elendon could you elaborate as to why Hans' surname (Pettersson?) is unlucky? Is that a Swedish language thing?
I think Elendon actually meant the name Hans was unfortunate - given that he is now better named Han Blush
I did wonder if his name was the reason the attacker removed that part of his body - simply because of his name, and because there was no other reason for removing part of his body.

Holstein Emil? WTF is Emil? And the overweight art collector? There are whole chunks of this programme I'm missing!

ChippyOik · 01/12/2015 20:33

rooster, because lukas stenberg (?) planned it. He got it back.

So who's the life coach guy? who wrote the book. is he saga's half brother?

AnnieNoMouse · 01/12/2015 20:33

I'm wondering if the stalker funeral director is the killer? She'll have experience of handling/arranging dead bodies, and I can't see any other reason for her being in this?

NeverEverAnythingEver · 01/12/2015 20:40

Saga has a half brother!?

RoosterCogburn · 01/12/2015 20:41

Thanks Chippy.
But why did he plan it? So many questions...

ChippyOik · 01/12/2015 20:46

Well, that book guru guy who was telling the women to go home and take control etc, he told the creepy woman, annika, that his father had just died, that it had been a long time coming. That matches what happened to Saga's father!?

ChippyOik · 01/12/2015 20:48

I am only speculating here but I'd say he planned it so that Jeanette and Marc would be scared, stay away, not ask questions about what was in the bag and be so grateful he showed them mercy by not killing them that they just cleared off out of the way...... Marc is a doooosh. Poor Jeanette.

Holstein · 01/12/2015 20:52

Chippy- why do you think motivational speaker guy is Saga's half brother?
We saw him killing his father, but that was after Saga's mother told her that her Papa was dead, wasn't it?

Annie- the forename thing makes sense (someone on the Guardian joked he was now called 'Han')

Emil was in Chapter 1 and 2, but I can't remember who he is!

Holstein · 01/12/2015 20:57

What I'd really like to know is do Swedish and Danish people spend all their time zipping across this bridge between Malmø and Copenhagen? It seems to me that it's v common for them to be traversing it many times a week, but it's quite long surely they don't?
(Though I believe some work in one, live in the other because costs are less. Presumably work in Copenhagen, live in Skåne?)

WeetabixExpress · 01/12/2015 21:57

Alot of people commute across the bridge, the crossing is less than 20 mins, and with Malmo and Lund being large university cities, copenhagen being a cosmopolitan capitol, it gives people choice and variety in life.

profpoopsnagle · 01/12/2015 21:59

I wonder if the bag got by pregnant girlfriend was a decoy? They knew they were being watched so sent someone to get it whilst the real bag was being lifted?

I too, need to watch it all again, or at least episode 4.

RomComPhooey · 01/12/2015 22:04

I wonder if the bag got by pregnant girlfriend was a decoy? They knew they were being watched so sent someone to get it whilst the real bag was being lifted?

I thought it was just a trick/staged to make the girlfriend cough up cash, given that he knew the gambler lad was no good for any more money. And it worked - she sold jewellery she'd hidden.

Gattabianca · 01/12/2015 22:06

I thought the pregnant girl was being used as a decoy. So the art dealer guy was watching for someone to collect the bag. The ex army guy sent the pregnant girl, she picked up a decoy bag, which the art dealer robbed off her, leaving the ex-army evil guy's mate to pick up the actual bag without anyone noticing. Did I totally misunderstand that??

Gattabianca · 01/12/2015 22:07

X post Grin

Holstein · 01/12/2015 22:19

except, gattabianca, the art dealer's guys black 4x4 followed Jeanette and Marc when they set-off from that building after ex-army guy told them they could go, their debt was discharged.

Gattabianca · 01/12/2015 22:25

Did they?? I missed that. If she wasn't a decoy how did ex-army guy get the bag? Confused

Holstein · 01/12/2015 22:28

I assume art dealer guy's men dropped it off to Lukas, that's why their car was pulling away.
Don't ask me their motive though!

ChippyOik · 01/12/2015 22:43

PS, yes phoooey I too wondered from where Lukas knows Henrik, and why Henrik insists he hasn't seen Luckas's face before.

They can't have Henrik being Morten Anker's half brother who served in afghanistan. That'd be the killing series 2.

Holstein · 01/12/2015 23:21

In Killing 2, did someone that 'committed suicide' turn out not to be dead? I seem to remember that pollen somewhere before...

Holstein · 01/12/2015 23:21

Oo- what is 'silly-haired plaity guy' called? Maybe he's Emil?
