I'm not getting anything from tax payers, not even housing benefit. When did I say I was better than these people? Goodness me

You know, one of the things I hate most about these programmes is the amount of time they say "benefits" per episode.

"Here's Sue in her benefits house drinking her benefits tea with a benefits biscuit." "Sue has benefit bourbons. She should know her place & stick to rich tea." Etc.

Are you claiming housing benefit then kitty

Kittyfrickle · 09/11/2015 23:12

Tell me how I'm a scrounger when I've made it very clear that I don't claim a single thing?

So you're unemployed, living a council house and getting money for your rent/food/bills from where, exactly?

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 09/11/2015 23:13

You may not have said it in words OP but I think calling people "bragging leeches" pretty much does the job.

Shutthatdoor · 09/11/2015 23:15

Many times actually. Do you not read what you type or are words like 'dirty people' and 'scroungers' being used as words of interment?

thornrose · 09/11/2015 23:15

Yes, oh god yes Santas the trailers are the same.

Roll up, roll up, come and watch Benefits Bob marry his benefits bride paid for by benefits.

You're missing the irony here Kitty. No one thinks you're a scrounger, even if you were on benefits we wouldn't think you were a scrounger. Funny though how enraged you're getting at people making wrong assumptions about you.

Kittyfrickle · 09/11/2015 23:16

Emergency savings (that I compiled using wages from 7 years worth of full time work) and smidge of inheritance, until I get my maternity leave. I'm moving into a 3 bed private rent house that is the same rent as this 1 bed council flat. Honestly, if you met the people that live in this area you would call them the same. I am only speaking from experience after all

If you are unemployed who do you think is going to be paying you maternity leave or child benefit or tax credits?

thornrose · 09/11/2015 23:17

Bragging bloody leech.

gamerchick · 09/11/2015 23:18

Well I hope that your dude who's funding you doesn't do a runner OP or you may have to join the line for handouts. Become yet another statistic in your area.

You have no idea what is around the corner.

ouryve · 09/11/2015 23:18

If you're so well off you don't need benefits, then why the hell are you living somewhere you apparently consider to be such a shithole?

Kittyfrickle · 09/11/2015 23:19

So the disgusting people that are passed out daily in public in my town centre on legal highs surrounded by cans of special brew that were bought with benefits aren't dirty scroungers, they're aspiring people then?

OP posts:
Kittyfrickle · 09/11/2015 23:19

I worked long enough with my employer for them to still pay me maternity leave

OP posts:
gamerchick · 09/11/2015 23:19

You managed to save earning 700 quid a month?

Kittyfrickle · 09/11/2015 23:20

I don't have a 'dude' that's funding me either

OP posts:
gamerchick · 09/11/2015 23:20

Special brew costs over 8 quid for 4 cans. Are you sure it's special brew?

Kittyfrickle · 09/11/2015 23:21

I saved £50 a month for 5 years

Are they really half the population, though, Kitty, or are you being a little free and easy with the truth?

There's a few characters in my village I have no desire to get too close to, but it's not half the population, even on a bad day.
