I'm moving from a 1 bed council flat into a private 3 bed semi detached house for the same price a week. I guess the council/landlords just see it as these people have no other choice so they can take advantage, although it is all being paid for them anyway

I agree Usual. This thread is getting the exact response the programme makers want.

It is not representative of your average benefit claimant. Of course they have chosen the most controversial individuals for the purposes of 'entertainment'. I'm sure a programme about the majority of folk on benefits would be extremely dull. Because, you know, they're just normal people.

expatinscotland · 09/11/2015 21:59

'god knows it gets me mad'

It gets you mad and not this fucking government handing out billions in corporate subsidies that mean working poverty for millions of people? Or these rogue landlord's coining it in off the back of the taxpayer completely unregulated? For real?

seasidesally · 09/11/2015 22:00

cant decide between that and the Cheshire housewifes Wink

Kittyfrickle · 09/11/2015 22:00

Channel 5 really loves these benefit and debt based programs Grin

i wondered how long it would take for the offended to turn up,right on q

expatinscotland · 09/11/2015 22:05

'speaking for myself im aware that the majority dont live like this, but thats not what the programmes about'

That's exactly what the programme's about: getting sheeple 'mad' about a few on the dole rather than the cunts at the top financially fucking 99% of us and all the services people fought for and even died for to try to make things a bit fairer and more equal.

It's not offensive, it's fucking pitiful that people actually fall for this utter load of bullshit programming.

Kittyfrickle · 09/11/2015 22:06

I was hoping for a lighthearted moan about a god awful show because there's not any better crap to watch, what have I startedBlush

Quiero · 09/11/2015 22:07

Grin at "the offended"

Bless you.

So it's ok for you to be offended by people on benefits but not ok for others to criticise you for your choice of telly programme.

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 09/11/2015 22:07

You do know what the programme is actually about though don't you?

It's about trying to reinforce the notion that benefits claimant = worthless lazy scrounger.

I'm not going to apologise for finding that offensive TBH.

Owllady · 09/11/2015 22:08

I have a degree I'll have you know :o
Tbf the casual racism etc was not nice to watch, but even though these people are picked to create the illusion of all 'people on benefits are like this', it's obvious they all have issues and difficulties. I'm more angered that individuals make personal wealth out the situation wrt letting out inadequate housing to local authorities. There is no way that man in the bedding had a choice either.

expatinscotland · 09/11/2015 22:08

SAS: Who Dares Wins. Can you believe how hot Foxy, Colin and Ant are? I'd like a lighthearted moan about how those three get to wear clothes whilst filming. They should all be naked.

seasidesally · 09/11/2015 22:09

kitty

this always happens on these programes, dont worry about it,its part of the course on MN

Owllady · 09/11/2015 22:09

Bedsit, not bedding

Some people are as thick as mince.

expatinscotland · 09/11/2015 22:10

So am I, usual.

seasidesally · 09/11/2015 22:11

if these programes cause so much rage, why on purpose seek to see if there is a thread about it

some just love the sound of their own voices being heard again and again and again

Owllady · 09/11/2015 22:12

I only watched it because I found the jaywick program really enlightening in how exploited these people are, how they are shipped out of London away from their families. It was sad, some of the people's stories were sad. I didn't sit there thinking I was better than them. I sat there angry that there is not a level playing field in life and imo it's getting much much worse :(
