Back next week on Sky Atlantic.

Loved series 1 apart from rubbish ending and so many loose ends.

OP posts:

Well, my younger friends didn't think rape. I'm on the fence it didn't scream out at me tbh and I can't face watching it again I'm so not into Noah.

elvisthehamster · 26/11/2015 12:29

I read an article with the one of the writer/creators-the scene wasn't intended to look like rape, although it was supposed to be about control -but she said that after they filmed it they could see that it did sort of look that way.

This series is getting better and better by the episode

was that scene rape well is was certainly about control and isn't rape about having control over someone to do as you please I would say that was rape

it will be interesting to see how Alison views it, if she felt it was rape who would say it isn't as she is certainly not involved in anyway, she has questioned their sexual relationship. I found it very uncomfortable to watch

And why is Helen going out of her way to do everything she can to help Noah, has she even asked if he is guilty? Is it love or about having some control back

BingoBonkers · 27/11/2015 07:44

I found the yoga sex scene uncomfortable viewing. Alison's body language looked far from consensual. Noah is a selfish selfish being.

I think Helen is tired abs exhausted from all the fighting and is thinking about the long term impact on the children esp since she has less chance of winning full custody due to her recent arrest. This actress is fantastic.

hudyerwheesht · 27/11/2015 12:34

I hated the yoga retreat sex scene. It seemed far too close to the bone as rape to me. But that said, it reminded me of that sex scene with her and Cole in season 1, on the bonnet of the car. To Noah it looked like rape but when we saw Helen's side it was clear it was consensual, if unusual.
Made me hate Noah even more though - all about him "unblocking his root chakra" so he could cure his writer's block, etc. Urgh. Selfish twat.

I thought Helen was just softening towards Noah because she saw how he was in the hospital with their son. There was a few scenes of her just looking at him that conveyed a lot - she's an awesome actress I think.

MajesticWhine · 27/11/2015 22:38

I have caught up now. What brilliant acting in that episode. Awesome. Yes the sex scene was grim and not consensual in my opinion.

BrendaandEddie · 28/11/2015 08:59

i am NOT READING as i cant get to watch this weeks yet

OMG

diddl · 28/11/2015 10:00

I'm confused about why Helen is paying.

Isn't Noah well off now?

viioletsarentblue · 28/11/2015 10:10

I don't get why Helen is willing to help Noah so much, that she is even willing to sell her house to do it!

That's not the behaviour of a woman who's husband has treated her like shit and put the needs of what's between his legs before the well being and future stability of his own family.

Nah. I don't believe all this. 'She's being nice to him for the children's sake' b.s..
Helen's a smart cookie. I think (am hoping) that she's looking at the bigger picture. ie. Give him a bit of help now and then taking him to the cleaners and bleeding him dry when he's raking in big bucks from his best seller books.

Wouldn't that be a great twist?

I so want to see Noah get what he deserves. He such selfish low life.

EnthusiasmDisturbed · 28/11/2015 10:12

I think she is still very much in love with him and showing him she is the better woman to be with. She will blame everyone other than him for the reason he had an affair

Poor Helen :(

diddl · 28/11/2015 10:18

But when he was arrested, he was already married to Alison & with a book about to be made into a film, wsn't he?

So she's not due any of that!

EnthusiasmDisturbed · 28/11/2015 10:27

Look away a spoiler

This week she saw him as the great father he was the man she grew to love she wants him to fall back in love with her to miss what they had. I don't believe she is doing it all for the children. She projected all her anger and hate into her mother yet none towards him

I am not sure she has even asked if he is guilty

EnthusiasmDisturbed · 28/11/2015 10:28

She is also a spoilt woman she has always had her own way (remember this from the first season) for once things didn't go her way she is going to make sure she is back in control

viioletsarentblue · 28/11/2015 11:16

This program is all about control.
The grandmother tries to control her daughter.
Helen used to control Noah.
Noah controls Alison.

viioletsarentblue · 28/11/2015 11:21

Alison should run for the hills.

The sex may be ok now, but fast forward to the future and she will more than likely be spending her remaining years nursing a controlling old man.
Fun.

cranberryjuiced · 28/11/2015 11:25

I'd be disappointed if Helen helping Noah was some trick. Not every woman who is wronged by a man turns into a bitter and revengeful witch and I'd be disappointed if they played to that stereotype.

Some really do forgive, accept, think about what's best for the kids and look at the bigger picture.

EnthusiasmDisturbed · 28/11/2015 12:03

yes they do cranberry but what goes on internally might be very different

and also that would not make a tv series so exciting to watch

viioletsarentblue · 28/11/2015 14:15

She can still look at the bigger picturewithout resorting to selling her house to help save a cheating, scumbag.

Love how the wife is always seen as the ' bitter witch'
If that isn't stereotyping then I don't know what is. Hmm

diddl · 28/11/2015 14:25

Yes, the offering to sell the house!

Is she hoping that she'll get some dirt on Alison??

What ep are you all up to?

I want to ask something but not if I'm further on!

cranberryjuiced · 28/11/2015 15:44

viiolet - that's not my view - women being witches, I just think it's the one portrayed in a lot of telly/films! Smile

GhoulWithADragonTattoo · 28/11/2015 17:13

I think Helen killed Scott and she's paying for Noah's lawyer out of guilt. Also possibly so she can get advance warning if they are about to discover it was her.

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/11/2015 19:59

fawn I said that last week as soon as she slept with Cole that the baby is his and Noah's

Esp if they haven seen each other for 6 weeks ,,,,.

BrendaandEddie · 29/11/2015 14:05

That was a brilliant episode, I don't think it was rape but it wasn't exactly pleasant. Is Athena Allison's mum? I cried a bit at the hospital bed scene, I thought it was really plausible

cleanmachine · 30/11/2015 17:51

I think noah and Alison will end up back with their original partners. As if anyone would leave cole for noah!

IamSantaClaus · 30/11/2015 17:54

I'm with you clean machine , I can definitely see them getting back with their ex spouses or just ending up alone.
