Back next week on Sky Atlantic.

Loved series 1 apart from rubbish ending and so many loose ends.

Cole's now mil has worked for Helen's mother for many years and Helens mother wanted to pay for the wedding and do something nice for her

Not sure where she was heading guess The End hotel wasn't she staying there with Noah

Why House of the Rising Sun well guess because it's a song about someone looking back on his life that has been ruined by drink and gambling and how he can't escape it and warning others not to do what he has done (women's version is about her working in brothel/gambling den, there are many different versions) I thought it was great choice and sung very convincingly

Fab song

The House Of The Rising Sun"

There is a house in New Orleans
They call the Rising Sun
And it's been the ruin of many a poor boy
And God, I know I'm one

My mother was a tailor
She sewed my new blue jeans
My father was a gamblin' man
Down in New Orleans

Now the only thing a gambler needs
Is a suitcase and trunk
And the only time he's satisfied
Is when he's on a drunk

[Organ Solo]

Oh mother, tell your children
Not to do what I have done
Spend your lives in sin and misery
In the House of the Rising Sun

Well, I got one foot on the platform
The other foot on the train
I'm goin' back to New Orleans
To wear that ball and chain

Well, there is a house in New Orleans
They call the Rising Sun
And it's been the ruin of many a poor boy
And God, I know I'm one

Still unsure why you'd sing it at a wedding.

Am old enough to be able to sing along easily!!

Just catching up now. Cringing at the distance between Alison n Noah

Scary I didn't notice that! You've a good memory.

Typical Noah getting reacquainted with his ex wife in the car on the drive home. Should have kept their eyes on the road.

Both Helen and Noah could afford a cab.

Blondeshavemorefun · 29/12/2015 23:06

good point, why didnt they just call a cab .......

then we wouldnt have watched 22hrs of tv as would have been no murder Grin

See how we all like Helen she is the wronged women we are almost willing to overlook her drink driving if Noah took over from driving Helen put her hand on his we certainly wouldn't. Clever writing

I think he sang that song as it's a miserable song about suffering he was not a happy bunny

I think for me it's just another way that Noah has fucked up her life - she said no to driving many times over & yet he insisted & pretty much gave her no choice & then he distracted her whilst she was driving.

Would you have thought the same if it were the other way around

Be interesting to see Helens version in the next series

God as much as I love it I don't know if I can watch the same thing again

What do you mean Enthusiasm? If Helen had acted as Noah had with cheating & generally being a selfish bastard, then yes, I'd think it was just another way she'd fucked him over.

He definitely pushed Helen into driving. She didn't want to.

Did Alison see Noah and Helen kissing on the fire escape?? I've watched it back twice now and can't make out who it is.

I thought the dress was significant as now, to Noah, Alison has ceased to be interesting. She is back to the anonymous waitress she was at the beginning- purely a flirtation. A distraction. Temporary. Whereas Helen, she is the real thing.

Did you notice Helen calling her a waitress in Noah's version?

No if she was driving pulled over as she felt dizzy insisted on him driving then acted as he did

In the end it was Helen who was driving but because the back story we will excuse her we wouldn't Noah

Neither of them should have driven or got in the car

I agree with that Enthusiasm, however the attitude to drink driving is different in the U.S. & especially on Long Island, so them driving after drinking isn't unusual (I completely don't agree with that, just stating how it is from my experience).

I think Alison was going to go upstairs to her little studio flat but couldn't because people were kissing on the stairs.

nicknacks thank you! I think I was overthinking the stair scene!

I don't think Alison wanted to be with him anymore all the way through that episode until the accident.

Only just watched the finale after having recorded it ages ago. Thought it was really good.
When Scott said, 'that's our baby,'
Did he just mean a Lockheart rather than his and Alisons?

Report
nipersvest · 11/01/2016 17:30

he meant a lockheart baby, cole is the father.
