Back next week on Sky Atlantic.

Loved series 1 apart from rubbish ending and so many loose ends.

OP posts:
Scarydinosaurs · 10/12/2015 14:18

I was so pleased that the publicist changed her mind at the last minute. I loved the final shot of Noah sat their signing his precious novel: this is all he has left.

The absence of Whitney in Noah's version of the visit to the university town in last night's episode echoed her own comments about her absence in her father's book. He is such an egocentric narcissist. He is easily the most unlikeable character out of them all. I like Helen the most- she is the one I feel for in all of this.

hudyerwheesht · 11/12/2015 07:16

Every time I don't think I can dislike Noah more he does something else to prove me wrong. I'm starting to think there's a reason he's being portrayed so badly in series 2, like they're setting him up, red herring style. They're trying to make it seem possible that he's capable of killing Scotty so maybe the twist is going to be that it was Alison or someone else entirely.

MozzchopsThirty · 11/12/2015 07:50

What did Helen give Gotlieb at the end of this episode? When he said he wouldn't use it unless he had too

GypsyFl0ss · 11/12/2015 07:52

The dummy that she picked up from the floor in the gym hall that had fallen out of Noah's pocket. I'm assuming it's for DNA testing to prove that Noah isn't the father of the baby and perhaps that Scotty was?

Fiderer · 11/12/2015 08:27

I thought the baby was Cole's & that Scotty knew that (baby looks like her father, i.e. Cole) & Scotty was going to blackmail Alison into financing his nightclub, so she killed him.

This is the only programme I watch where I think why am I? So many characters annoy me Grin

Plus Gotlieb is Toby but old & that's so odd.

EachandEveryone · 11/12/2015 08:57

I thought Scottie died before the baby was born?

EnthusiasmDisturbed · 11/12/2015 09:10

Though I feel sorry for Helen I can't understand why she is fighting Noah's corner when she doesn't even seem to know or care if he is guilty or not I think it's that she wants him back for herself not for her children. Helen didn't steal her husband from her he walked away. Like Whitney pointed out she has never been independent money wise and she hasn't emotionally.

I think the publicist had no intention of having sex with Noah she wanted to see if he so easily would now she has a bit of control over him

GypsyFl0ss · 11/12/2015 09:39

Fiderer I keep looking at Gotlieb/ Toby and thinking when did you get so grey! I'm dipping in and out of WW again...I have a soft spot for Toby.

Scarydinosaurs · 11/12/2015 09:41

I think Scotty meant that the baby was a Lockhart ie Cole's, and Alison killed him.

Scotty saw Alison at Cole's at the time when the baby could have been conceived.

Fiderer · 11/12/2015 10:02

Gypsy so do I.

I occasionally think at work: "There's literally no one in the world that I don't hate right now." Cheers me up Grin

GypsyFl0ss · 11/12/2015 11:53

Heh, I might adopt that one.
My most used tv quote is from the wire... "that's what happens when you give a fuck when it's not your turn to give a fuck". Sums up my working day in so many ways Grin

I agree that I think the baby is Cole's and Alison enacted the ending of the book on him.

Scarydinosaurs · 11/12/2015 12:11

Noah's anger at the student critic was hilarious.

Whitney is such a dick- model in New York. Great plan.

GypsyFl0ss · 11/12/2015 12:16

Whitney makes me cringe. She's excellent and grim at the same time.

Scarydinosaurs · 11/12/2015 12:23

Putting her mum on tinder and the crass comments about having five, maybe six years left was horrid. She is so like her grandmother.

EachandEveryone · 11/12/2015 13:48

Whitney hasn't got a nice bone in her body. She is a great actress and stunning but the character is just awful.

Scarydinosaurs · 11/12/2015 15:39

I think we see different Whitneys depending on who he is retelling the story. I imagine she isn't as bad as what we see, and as this season progresses, we'll see different sides of her.

oneowlgirl · 11/12/2015 23:44

Great episode!

MajesticWhine · 12/12/2015 11:11

I am one episode behind and still trying to find time to catch up. But I have no fear of spoilers on here because it's so slow nothing concrete ever happens and I'm sure we still don't know what the hell happened to Scottie Grin.

Lemonfizzypop · 12/12/2015 11:18

God I love this programme, I kind of don't even care that much about the mystery aspect I just think the characters and their relationships are really well drawn, I think Helen is just really still smitten with Noah, for right or wrong, but surely that's not enough for her to want to help him out in a murder case so much?!

And I really hope they explain how things got so amicable between Cole and Alison that she got invited to his friccin wedding.

oneowlgirl · 13/12/2015 08:43

I agree with you Lemon & on top of her still having feelings for Noah, I also think she doesn't want her kids to have the stigma of a dad who's a murderer, hence trying so hard to prove his innocence.

EnthusiasmDisturbed · 13/12/2015 12:35

Whitney the way she is because of how she has been bought up

Mother smug (in the first series) and spoilt and father happy to live a life that his in laws provided in order he could peruse his dream of being an author

And she didn't come up at all in Noah's recollection in the last episode

I feel sorry for her

EnthusiasmDisturbed · 13/12/2015 12:36

Pursue his dream ....

EachandEveryone · 13/12/2015 15:35

Helen hasn't got one female friend has she?

violetsarentblue · 13/12/2015 16:17

Helen strikes me as one of those women who naturally get on better with men.
Her forthright attitude is possibly too strong for some women.

oneowlgirl · 13/12/2015 16:41

I hadn't noticed that Each, you're right!
