NO OFFENCE from same writer as SHAMELESS. It looked promising The big lass looks like the star of the series. We fell about at the joke in the lavatory.

This weeks episode was really good too. Loved the bit in the massage parlour. Are they called massage parlours??? Or spas?????

Loving this best thing I've seen for a while.

I think I've missed a few of the gags - they come too quickly for me! I'm a bit baffled by the story around the thin one who has 'adopted' the rape victim and cries and runs out of rooms etc at any mention of her.

What's that all about then?

Morris the rape victim was pulled out of the river where she had been dumped by what we think is a serial killer by Dinah. I think Dinah didn't want to hear her talk of the rape in detail.
It was really touching at the end. I adore Viv.

I love this. Very quick, i.e. action packed, & very funny too.

I loved it last night, I liked the 'No animals were harmed' disclaimer at the end .... I'm glad she didn't really punch that poor cat!

Oh I thought she just violently shoed it . The end was very touching.

Move over Olivia Coleman and Clare Balding, I think Joanna Scanlan is becoming a national treasure

Isn't she davros! I adore her character in this. She's just perfect. I cant wait for next week now.

dustbunny I think you might be thinking of The Invisible Woman, where Joanna Scanlan played Charles Dickens' wife? He had a long-standing affair with another woman. I ploughed my way through the book recently, so it's in my recent memory, haven't seen the film though, is it good?

I'm really enjoying it - but I don't always follow what's going on. It's very fast-paced and some of the dialogue is unclear.

Joanna Scanlan is always excellent - loved her in The Thick of It and Getting On (the nurse drama). She was also great in a comedy last year called Puppy Love. What's so good about her is that she has such a fantastic range. You never think "Oh, that's Joanna Scanlan doing her schtick again."

Loving this series I've been unable to sleep past few days so almost become obsessed with it watched each episode twice and understand it more and
Watched preview and extra clips online. It always amuses me when I watch interviews etc when characters are speaking posh like Joanna and the other two leads Dinah and joy one is Irish, the other is welsh. I know there actors and its their talent but I'm awful at one attempt at accents !

Yes the woman who plays Dinah does a great accent doesn't she. She was in the others years ago she hasn't aged a day. She's really talented.

forgivenminds sorry you can't sleep but maybe you can answer a question for me? At the hospital the two SWAT type girls ( tatoo?) are doing something in their room and Viv sends the boss (Colin Salmon) in. I couldn't catch what is supposed to be going on, any idea?

Aha! I thought it was something sexual because I think I understood that they were married to each other. Could be wrong, it is hard to follow but brilliant.

They are married to each other davros, well that's what I thought anyway.
Tonight's episode was a tough one, not sure if I enjoyed it as much.

I thought they were married to each other. I enjoyed this week's as I think it's brilliant anyway. Hard to follow but worth it. mire background d on the characters is emerging, e.g. Viv's home life. They seem to have a thread, the DS myrders, and drop in other things like the arson attach and Nazis, or not which was quite funny.

There was some funny bits. I think I couldn't follow it last night because DH was asking about everything all the way through.

I'm still loving it & find myself getting excited on a Tuesday. I like the fact that it's not just about the 1 case, but there are others thrown in every week.

It's hard, fast & fun!!

Enjoyed last night's episodes I think her husband has a link to the case or the guy they've had in for questioning
