I'm still in a funk about it all. And we still have the funeral to get through.

I can't wait for the two hour special. It better be good. they can't have left this many plot holes and allow it to continue. they need to take the chance now to develop story lines or come the week after there will literally be nothing left.

I thought GA "jumped the shark" a long time ago tbh.

Those characters who have DC just continue as normal, the DC are barely seen and their sex, career and social life is unaffected! 24 hour childcare is clearly fabulous in Seattle.

I don't watch GA any more.

I don't think Amelia, being a skilled neurosurgeon, would have accepted and allowed Derek his peaceful death. Perhaps that's the thinking behind Meredith not calling her. She knew there was no hope, she didn't want Amelia to throw herself into finding a way to heal him out of grief, knowing that ultimately it would be futile, and the exhausting process that would have been.

Or maybe she had called Amelia but she couldn't get out to Washington (or wherever it is he crashed)? In the preview she's telling everyone at the hospital who obviously didn't know, but I can't remember a clip of Amelia finding out - so maybe she knew?

Either way there's going to be a fallout from her dealing with it on her own. Don't think Mrs Shepherd is going to be too pleased about not getting a chance to say goodbye to her son...

I've decided to watch again from the beginning. It's soured. I keep wanting to tell Meredith she's just going to end up broken hearted and alone. Damn you Shonda.

I think Ameila was in surgery? With Owen- a patient was wheeled in right after Derek's accident, when she and Owen were waiting at the pit. Poor Derek, getting taken to the worst hospital ever!! I didn't get the reaction once they found out he was a Dr, a surgeon no less- were they worried they'd be found out?! Thought Derek's comment when he was being assessed, that they weren't listening to the red haired female Dr because she was a woman was totally daft- yeah all the woman at Grey Sloan are retiring wall flowers?! It's a shame he wasn't written out by staying in DC. That would have been more palatable!!

Yeah his storyline has been all over the place.

First he was going - and then he decided to stay. Then he was like, fuck this, I'm going anyway. Things look bleak for their marriage. Random flirtation/kiss with a pretty fellow and suddenly he wants his wife and children after all, comes home again. Then apparently they've never been so happy, soft-focus, warm scenes in bed and talk of making a baby. Has to leave one more time, we think he's going to die but no. Saves a bunch of people. Then dies anyway.

I agree, they should have left him in DC.

Yup I'm not sure what the point of this season has been other than to be cruel. split them up temporarily have Ice queen Meredith realise that yes she can be without him but that she doesn't want to be then just to kill him off??

I'll see if I can watch it once the kids are off to school then. I hope either Addy or Cristina come back. Both would be even better. I suspect in the trailer when Meredith is packing bags she is going to Cristina and that is how it will be explained she is not there.

I agree the plot this season has been stoopid. A golden opportunity to send him off to Washington and leave him there but instead he goes, he comes back, he goes again, bloody ridiculous.

Can you imagine if she went to cristina and just didn't come back?! Mer and Der wiped out in one fell swoop.

I think it'd be good if she took a nice long break, not least to force some of the other characters to the fore. Even better, Addison could come back in the meantime.

I don't think Mer can leave because there are no other Greys. If Lexie were still alive, maybe.
