Derek.. I can't even....oh my god!

I am going to watch it tonight when the kids are in bed (so they don't see me sobbing ).

I'm gutted tbh. I have rooted for those two for 10 years and I think this was a shit ending for him. I doubt they will bring Christina back for the funeral. Has anyone seen the promo for next week? It's on twitter

I also think this is the end for greys. There is no where else to take meredith now, she will be ice queen and that's it. Shonda hasn't let the other characters be strong enough to carry it on.

As you can tell I am over invested in greys

there are zero storylines now. The characters have all been "forgotten" for weeks anything that happens now is just going to seem forced

I've only recently got in to Grey's. Yes I know how could I not know how good it is! I'm on S9 and I happened to be reading the web today and know exactly what's happened. No spoiler alert just bam! So I'm quite pissed off. But also - I'm still getting used to no Sloan. Now this...haha oh god I sound so sad LOL

"He is dead in my real life" - that's so sad. Because good old Mr Dempsey is alive and well and nothing bad has actually happened. Even when a band split up something has happened in actual real life.

I think it was a cop out when MerDer have been through a ludicrous number of near death experiences - the shooter, the plane crash. Meredith's been dead more times than Buffy. Surely PD could have been written out in a nice way (preferably one that avoided the need for Meredith to start dating again) - such as working in Washington? It might have got a bit contrived but they also need to sideline Meredith from the centre of the dramas if anyone else is develop.

Now watched it. I must say, it definitely had the 'someone will save the day' vibe going on, it must have been quite shocking to watch without knowing the outcome.

The whole two car accidents thing was a bit weird. When he survived the first one I was like WTF is going to happen now. The car was on a bend, I think the lorry probably could have been unable to see him until it was too late.

In terms of why didn't Meredith call Amelia, Derek was brain dead long before she got to the hospital. I assume Bad Things are going to be done to the neurosurgeon who took so long to answer his page.

I liked the touch of using Chasing Cars again (rather unfortunate title) after it was used to such dramatic effect for Denny's death.

Surely the truck wouldn't he going taut fast round a bend and police would have put hazard signs up.

And surely the truck would have seen the ambulances so maybe slowed just in case

Indeed - although I guess it was not completely clear how long after the ambulances had set off he actually left, as there was only one fire truck which had basically cleaned up the scene. They'd had time to get a tow truck for the burnt-out car, for example.

Think will give the episode a miss!

The bloody daily mail splashed it all over their website today with a spoiler warning right next to the spoiler it really is a fecking useless rag!! Be a few weeks before actually watch it.

I was reading he had got a bit big for his boots and Shonda rhimes had written him out shame she did it for George and Izzie too. Don't piss off shonda clearly.

I haven't seen the episode yet & gutted to know the spoiler, but I'm ridiculous as I'm crying (just a little) & not even watched the episode yet!!

I really will miss Derek. I know I was usually alone on these threads in that, but I honestly thought he was ace & would have happily been married to myself!!
