Anyone else looking forward to this one? After last time I think there a BOys and a Girls island though it is just boys tonight. Roll up roll up anyone who has no idea how to lit a fire or build a shelter whilst knowing they are going on a survival program!

Wax. She would be scratching like fuck a week after shaving with the 're growth.

TrinityRhino · 18/04/2015 09:22

I welled up when they found each other.
It must have been such a relief!

Dd2 is loving it too.

We're impatiently waiting g fir next weeks Grin

I love these shows. I was one of many after the last series to ask why they hadn't given any women a chance.

I'm embarrassed for them at the moment though. Presumably in the usual tradition of telly the fortunes of each group will vary so hopefully the women will start to get a grip. They'll realise that fire, water, food and shelter must take priority over crab-racing. FFS Hmm

And let's remember that it was a woman who won the celeb version that's just finished on ITV Smile

VivaLeBeaver · 18/04/2015 10:09

I want to go on it next year!

TrinityRhino · 18/04/2015 10:46

I was hoping they ate the crabs that they raced. Did they not?

Jacana · 18/04/2015 10:47

Fortunately, the walked the right way round the island to meet the other group. Also fortunate that it was low tide and they had sand to walk on. Imagine the horror if they'd had to scramble over boulders like the men did, at high tideShock

Jacana · 18/04/2015 10:48

I think they let the crabs go?

CookPassBabtrigde · 18/04/2015 11:17

This series has actually made me quite nervous to watch. Watching the women walk round and round in circles in the jungle while the camp were dying of thirst, watching the men nearly die trying to fish !!! I don't think they're faring as well as last years lot, who even though they had their differences, seemed to crack on a lot better. None of last years walked, but 5 of these have walked already!

Jacana · 18/04/2015 11:46

I missed it last year.

The second man builder seemed to go into catatonic shock, didn't he? The reality was just too much for him, I reckon,Such a shame that he didn't walk before big belly bloke.

If the girls can now form a cohesive group they might do better? At the moment They've got coconuts and crabs if they have the wit to keep them until they get a fire started. Who knows, if three of them started exploring inland for more stuff to eat, say 1.5 hrs each way, marking their track as they go, while the others do the fire and shelter stuff at home base, might work.

Any wild pigs, tho, are safe to rootle another day, I reckon. Can't see any of the more girlie girls killing one.[Hmm

VivaLeBeaver · 18/04/2015 12:07

I'm currently watching the first series on catch up. Never watched it last year. It looks like this year's womens Island is maybe the island from last year.

Twirlwirlywoo · 20/04/2015 10:41

I am loving this but cringeing at the women.

Did they actually do the 2 day survival training that Bear mentioned at the very start of the series?? Apparently they all received 2 day survival training! Seems the women didnt pay any attention!

I know its easy sat on the sofa but really some basics - like wandering off with NO water in scorching heat with no contingency plan and as for frolicking on the beach having a jolly swim and crab race??? what about the FIRE and SHELTER - yes I am shouting - I have been shouting at the TV with my 16yo DD - who is also horrified!!

Am loving it though and looking forward to this weeks!

Tigresswoods · 20/04/2015 11:09

I'm so looking forward to this week's too. It's compelling viewing.

AnnPerkins · 20/04/2015 11:45

I'd love to have been a fly on the wall at the 2 day survival training. How did that one who left on the first day complete the training, yet still not consider that it might be a good idea to cut her nails before she tried to live for six weeks in the wild? Confused

butterflyballs · 20/04/2015 17:29

I do wonder if they even watched the first series where they were all hungry, exhausted, dehydrated and eaten alive by insects.

Did they think there was a luxury hotel hidden from the cameras? It's obviously going to be hard but the ones who left on the first day just made me so annoyed, there were so many people who would have made much more of this opportunity.

Tigresswoods · 20/04/2015 18:00

Ann I was shocked by long nail woman too! I trim mine right down before holidays & I'm in no way roughing it on a deserted island scavenging for food.

Idiot!

Jacana · 20/04/2015 18:31

In fairness to one of the girls on the walk around, she was marking trees along their route, but got ignored by the others. Madness, just madness.

AnnPerkins · 20/04/2015 18:47

I trim my nails before doing the weeding! Grin

AnnPerkins · 22/04/2015 15:17

Back to the men's island tonight.

Wonder if they're all happy campers now...?

TrinityRhino · 22/04/2015 15:40

I'm trying to stop myself letting my 10 year old stay up to see it.
If I don't let her stay up then I'll have to wait till tomorrow to see it but it's a school night. arghhGrin

Tigresswoods · 22/04/2015 21:34

Come on guys, there must be some food out there? What about that root stuff?

butterflyballs · 22/04/2015 21:36

Kyle's doing a great job of not doing any work and then says he's not "part of the group". He would probably be more of the group if he didn't keep sloping off down the beach to do his feet.

butterflyballs · 22/04/2015 21:47

That was horrible :(

VivaLeBeaver · 22/04/2015 21:48

That's one big Cayman they've caught.

Hope they know how to smoke/preserve some of the meat. Or maybe they'll just stuff themselves tonight?

DinosaursRoar · 22/04/2015 21:49

So glad they have some food at last. Horrible to watch though. I think i'm definately a "meat comes wrapped in plastic from the supermarket" type of a woman.

VivaLeBeaver · 22/04/2015 21:49

I don't know why they haven't done more fishing?

They caught fish before didn't they in the nets but didn't check the nets for ages and the fish had gone off. So why don't they reset the nets and check them more often?
