Anyone else looking forward to this one? After last time I think there a BOys and a Girls island though it is just boys tonight. Roll up roll up anyone who has no idea how to lit a fire or build a shelter whilst knowing they are going on a survival program!

I wonder if they have to sign the equivalent of the Official Secrets Act once they're picked?

From what I've been told: Yes something along those lines.

Travelledtheworld · 18/05/2015 12:54

Jacana Yes. You have to sign a contract which binds you to a confidentiality agreement and also gives the producers complete editing rights.
Several years I was asked if I would like to go on Wifeswap USA. After I read the contract I felt it would put my whole family in a very difficult situation if the show were edited and did not portray us in a good light.
My kids just wanted to know how many electronic gadgets they would be able to buy with the $6,000 fee.

Travelledtheworld · 18/05/2015 12:59

OH BTW I would never pass an audition for The Island as I was a Girlscout leader and have been trained how to light a fire with Birch Bark and three matches.

Not that there would be any birch trees on a tropical island.

But I do have Big Baps though.......

RedToothBrush · 18/05/2015 14:22

Travelled, I don't blame you. $6000 isn't a lot if it could ruin your reputation and potential employment opportunities. A significant number of previous Big Brother contestants have struggled to find work after the show for that reason.

chippednailvarnish · 18/05/2015 14:27

Thinking of islands and ex-army officers Always preferred Bruce Parry to Bear.

Tigresswoods · 20/05/2015 21:10

Don't eat the turtles!!!

RedToothBrush · 20/05/2015 21:10

Magic rafts and endangered turtles.

Tigresswoods · 20/05/2015 21:13

Ok they were dead anyway... That's ok, right?

SnotQueen · 20/05/2015 21:16

The turtle thing is really interesting. I'm surprised so many are giving them a miss.

RedToothBrush · 20/05/2015 21:19

DH: I didn't know there was a black guy on the island.

Yeah I hadn't noticed him before either

TwartFaceBeetj · 20/05/2015 21:20

they showed the womens dilemma of eating piglets making them look silly next to the men who had a crocodile to kill. But then the men had the same things with the baby turtles

Tigresswoods · 20/05/2015 21:26

How stupid are the two blokes lost in the jungle?!?

Jacana · 20/05/2015 22:29

How stupid is it to reach absolute starvation and physical weakness before deciding that a trek inland to see if there was anything living there they could eat was the Thing to Do? Isn't it more logical, and believable, to organize scouting expeditions when you're newly arrived and have lots of energy? Oh, and btw, never a good idea to trek into unknown territory with just a couple of daylight hours left...Shock Do you think they were tipped the wink that if they looked for a piggie they'd probably find one?

God, I've got so cynical, watching thisBlush

Poor Phil, fancy being forgotten!Sad He was such an unassuming gentle giant of a man ..

Hassled · 20/05/2015 22:32

I welled up a bit tonight seeing them all leaving. I have to say I've engaged more with the men than I did the women - they were just a more likeable bunch. I cared about them more - and I think they cared more about each other than the women did.

Jacana · 20/05/2015 22:37

Agree, hassledSmile

RedToothBrush · 20/05/2015 23:37

I don't believe the pig was that close to the end.

Travelledtheworld · 21/05/2015 04:35

I was beginning to wonder if they had been there longer how many Bromances would develop. There was already quite a lot of hugging and cuddling going on......

TwartFaceBeetj · 21/05/2015 07:29

viva have you got your application in yet?

Someones started a thread to say her Dh has got through to the next stage. Already

VivaLeBeaver · 21/05/2015 07:48

Eek, no. I need to brush my hair and do it today!

YouBastardSockBalls · 21/05/2015 08:05

Can't believe that bloody raft showed up again.

Do they think we're stupid!? Shock

And I can't believe they ate endangered baby turtles. Surely they could have just helped them into the sea rather than watch them fry?

Doobigetta · 21/05/2015 22:29

I really enjoyed this, but there's no way Lauren's hair hadn't seen shampoo or conditioner for 6 weeks at the end. Mine looks worse than that after three days.

Jacana · 22/05/2015 14:09

The baby turtles are such cuties but I saw a docu about their life cycle a while ago. The eggs are laid in their hundreds masses, then the eggs not dug up and eaten by the Gulls etc. but which live to hatch, then have to make the trek to the sea... Once in the water the big fishes are waiting for themShock

It's a hard life being a baby turtle.Sad

C'mon viva ! You don't need to brush your hair, remember the winning dress code? Tousled hair (extensions if you must), freckles over your nose and pushy uppy baps. Oh, and I've decided that if you say you're a street musician and can play halved coconut shells, that'd be good. All those bonding sing-songs round the campfire? Gotta be a winner.

So it really was only during the last week that the girls made beds, or rather one gigantic bed? Shock

YDdraigGoch · 22/05/2015 14:12
