Just read the q&a - thanks for the link! All seems pretty positive for another series. TG is sitting down with the BBC to discuss...!

Also hints that the kiss scene from Bath was cut short because LT had a cold sore. Poor Lacey! Can you imagine being ready for a passionate scene with BA and you can't seal the deal because of a cold sore! I'd be bloody devastated! Think I would insist on a reshoot another day!!!! Purely for the integrity of the storyline of course..

Would be gutted! Must mean BA has never had a cold sore otherwise it would have been ok I guess... Bloody hell scenes in bath could have been so much better!

And the contentment of the female viewers!!

Ran maybe 6km, overall almost 9km (my buddy wasn't in great shape, we didn't want to risk an injury, old wise ladies)

Just read the Tony Grounds Q&A. Very interesting. Love the answer about hoping that people are inspired by the series to get off their backsides and sort themselves out and to reach for their dreams. Could have been straight off the page of this discussion thread! Mmh. Coincidence or possibly reading this? Nice thought!

He's very cagey about it. At first I thought it sounded positive with sitting down to discuss with the BBC but then the answers such as don't know if Ben and Lacey can do it or would be in it put doubt in my mind. I suppose there are a lot of possibilities and whether it got commissioned would depend on the storyline and who might be in it. I hate to suggest it but if BA and LT didn't want to do it I suppose TG could go off in another direction with other characters - possibly even give it another title because you couldn't call it Our Girl without Molly in it, could you? I'd still watch it though!

I feel there could be an awful lot of speculation about this over the coming weeks.

Oh yes and having dealt with the serious issues above I agree with everyone, what a pity about Bath! I remember feeling so cheated at the time.

I suppose its an occupational hazard though, being an actor. Think of all the scenes in films where you think actors kissing each other are enjoying it and then you hear stories later that say the opposite. Tony Curtis saying kissing Marilyn Monroe was like kissing Hitler! I saw Carrie Fisher (hardly recognised her) on QI the other night and she was talking about how Gene Kelly had french kissed her mother (Debbie Reynolds) when they were on the set of Singin' In the Rain and she had vomited! Appearances can be deceptive. Don't think they are enjoying it just because it looked like it - I'm sure it was all just work and their damn fine actors! Ha ha ha!

So cool that TG answered the questions. Bet he is so chuffed with the following. Really hope he knows its not just the twitter/FB lot though .

I was a bit confused about the cold sore bit though ... Wasn't that just one of the questions 'did Lacey have a cold sore?' or something about why there wasn't a kiss? I don't think that was what TG said? Although, to be fair, I am reading this in costa with the kids trying to grab the phone! The long walk seems to have made them very moany and tired but no less energetic, whereas I am ready to hit my pit and be asleep before the springs hit the floor. Back home, stick Frozen DVD on, quick lie down for 5 mins (ok, so that last bits never gonna happen!!! But a girl can dream!).

Thanks icemist for the TG Q&A. They were pretty decent questions, weren't they? I did think TG's responses were generally quite predictable though - suitably vague. I would still love a further series but this ff is definitely keeping me going in the meantime. Maybe we could pitch Onlygirl's smut as an X rated version if TG changes his mind!??

Is there no way we could get TG on here? I haven't a clue how we would do it but somebody on this thread might know.

Nice quiet day here at Ilove Towers. Weather is absolutely filthy so have been ironing this afternoon, whilst watching episodes 1-3 so far of the DVD.

I've been wondering for a while about the guns they all carry. (I don't often think about guns in general but having seen the DVD more times than I can count, it has made me question something). At the FOB, they carry their rifles almost all the time and that's what Smurf and MD were doing as they left on R&R. At what point do they hand them in? At Bastion or Brize Norton maybe? I mean, it's not as if you could walk round your home town in army uniform with a rifle over your shoulder without the police becoming involved. Also, is the gun specifically yours or do you just get one out of stores?

The other question I have is about the rest of the platoon. In nearly all the ff, it is Mansfield Mike who seems to be the writers' favourite, but I tend to think Dangles is the most cute (though soooooooo young). What does anyone else think?

Nickel: Oh yeah. Dreaming is legitimate. You can alway try the hot bath (for the kids). As long as you learn how to sit on the edge of the bathtub/toilet sear without actually falling asleep, it's a good way to get 10' of peace and quiet. I tend to end up slightly splashed, but the kids are not cranky afterwards (just hungry raisins....)

Very interesting QAs. I'm not sure about the cold sore, i think it was more of a question rather than that's why there wasn't a kiss. TG seems to imply everything was planned out from the beginning which I guess included the not quite there kiss!

Well my afternoon didn't go as planned. I layed on the bed reading FF and the next thing 2.5 hrs later I woke up!! I can't complain as veggies all peeled for roast tonight (this is unheard of normally)

Orphan Paulo Nutini... Oh yes. Other than looking like he could do with a wash he is really rather gorg. Did you see him on the Graham Norton show a few months back. Nice black shirt, few buttons undone. Also his very old song "Candy" if you check out the video, I always said I wanted to do my next wedding just like that! DH just puts it down to another one of my fantasies!

No chance of bluestone or OG tonight, but not long now for kids back at school!!!

Oh gosh saying that Paulo Nutini looks like he needs a good wash really made me laugh Richtea. I saw him last night and I know what you mean. I bet he smelled lovely but I'm not a fan of that sweaty unwashed look in general Taking me neatly on to the sixteenth century which was definitely sweaty and unwashed. Anyone who didn't see Musketeers last year and wants an idea of what it was about there is a ten minute catch up on iplayer with some of the best bits and an intro to the characters which I watched for ahem research purposes, of course.

I laughed myself when I said needs a good wash, as I just sound like my mum did! With age I am certainly saying things just like her! Yes musketeers have been recommended to me on this thread, especially as it's a 9pm slot!!!

Finally signing in and a belated Happy New Year to all my fellow cockwombles on this wonderful thread. Can't wait for the following: Musketeers to start, kids to hurry up and go back to school, DH to stop staying awake beyond 8pm so I can get back to sneakily watching OG as I'm in danger of serious decompression.

Paolo Nutini: I quite like that slightly just got out of bed after a good workout grubby look sometimes, but only if it's fresh sweat rather than stinky sweat, if you know what I mean. I've just checked his age and he's 27, older than I had thought, so I don't feel quite as cougarish (though I'm still 21 years older!!). richtea I got a bit flushed watching the 'candy' video...
My sister turns out to be a big fan of The Musketeers, or rather the leather trousers.

Whilst I'm thinking of younger men, has anyone seen the rather rubbish film 'walking on sunshine'? I took my daughter to see it as it was filmed in Puglia (we've been there on holiday a few times) and it's got 80s soundtrack. Anyway, the male lead, an Italian actor was very pleasant and I think I'd quite like him to be added to the fireside wrestling, if that's OK cjwoof? Perhaps an old school friend of CJ's and CJ would spend some summer holidays staying with his family in Italy and acquiring a lovely golden tan...all over

That's fine Orphan as I think I might need all four musketeers at the wrestling too to add a bit of Frenchness to your Italianism, making it a truly international competition. Of course CJ will beat all-comers so to speak to become World Naked Fireside Wrestling Champion.

Just looking at D'Artagnan purely for research purposes and realized he reminds me of a long lost schoolgirl crush of mine - anyone remember Oliver Tobias? I thought he was dreamy when I was about 13/14, along with David Essex and Martin Shaw in The Professionals. Reassuring to know my tastes haven't changed much in 35 years, but my cougar ism has taken over from the teen crush, Oo-er!

Paolo Nutini - wouldn't say no! Although I do prefer a taller man (CJ is perfect!)

Re LT and BA kissing scenes. It may have been discussed before, but do we think there was any real life action between them? When I watch scenes like the coco pops and restaurant ones, it just seems SO natural between them; maybe I'm not giving enough credit to their acting skills though...

If you don't mind me adding another Italian to the mix of wrestling champions, I could offer a classy one: alessandro gassman. Son of the the much more famous actor father, even more good looking (I saw him once, live- swooning!!), very very tall and older than me! He's got them all (he also has or had a proper wife and kids. But we're only talking about fireside wrestling...)

Onlygirl yes, we did discuss it a while back I think and we certainly hoped there could be some RL action going on but whether there was is anyone's guess! I mean if it's not going to be one of us, it's a nice thought that it could be Lacey Turner! However, there was also a school of thought that BA could be gay (I really, really hope that isn't true).

I wonder...flipping the pov for a minute...what do you think is LT making of this? If she was reading us (both here and the ff) would she laugh or what?
