Another virtual hug for pixie from me. Hoping for a great new year for you!

Am a satisfied woman - managed to watch episode 1 and my love for CJ knows no bounds! I did find though that all the reading of the ff was having an effect on me. I kept hoping that CJ would sweep Molly off to his tent for some QS. Also Operation Bulge was diverting my attention; at some points my gaze was definitely trained below the belt line... I was a little frustrated cos dp decided to watch it with me, so I couldn't rewind or pause for full enjoyment. I also couldn't help a smirk when CJ was called away from handing out the post by Major Beck needing to speak to him. Visions of pink negligees came to mind.
Agree with cherin that CJ's voice is divine: he makes it sound as if he's doing lovely things with his tongue...Blush

The involved ff is fab and I'm v pleased with how quickly it's being updated at the moment. Lovely bedtime reading.Wink

As we are all adults, I think I can say that the QS ff is very inspiring, and having this break from work and routine helps in the RL application of QS theory :-)
(That helps, in general. Life can be very shitty but clinging to these primary-needs activities is healthy and fairly therapeutic!)
Also, in my case what helps me staying an inch from the brink is having the feeling that I have something under control. Not everything. I gave up that aspiration years ago, with kids. But at least something, little but significant. Either my weight, or my physical activity, my time to chat to DH or my daily time slot to peruse this place or a book or a tiny hobby. I cling to this little illusion and I feel I am not exactly a buoy wandering in rough waters.
Xxx

moojangles · 28/12/2014 21:32

I know I'm a recent addition but wanted to say how brilliant you all are. Just reading has inspired a very different haircut, a slow start to getting fit, rediscovering my love of loud music, off to a festival next year as a result & a new determination to revive my social life, that one is a work in progress.

An even bigger thanks for this thread, helping ease the loneliness as I get used to DH being away. Thanks for fanfic too, although I'm not sure the QS is helpingXmas Confused

apsara03 · 28/12/2014 22:25

pixie and monopod sending virtual hugs. We take on so much and try to fit do much on without thinking about what cumulative effect it will have on us and our health. I really struggled for a while last year only really coped by limping to half term/end of term . it was only once I got to the summer and had a long break and started sleeping properly that I felt better. Make sure you build time in for yourself each day and don't feel guilty about it. I remember someone saying that it's like on a plane when they go through the emetgencyw dril and tell him you to put the oxygen mask on yourself before putting them on a child. When you are looking after others -children/family you need to look after yourself as well. monopod I'm glad the therapy and writing is helping and hope you continue to feel better.
pixie this time of year is stressful enough without the added complication of moving don't be too hard on yourself.
I am liking the ff but did find myself reimagining the shower scene whilst driving today -not ideal given the icy roads around here.
DO gone to bed so setting down to 2nd half of episode 4 for my daily fix.
sweet dreams everyone Xmas Smile

Ilovelblue · 28/12/2014 22:57

pixie sorry it's a rubbish time of year for you. I know how you feel. I'm not the biggest fan of Christmas in any case but it's worse this year without my Mum. We've done a few different things though and it has gone better than I thought. With a house move for you as well, you must be worn out. Hang in there.

Richtea I absolutely love the restaurant scene. It is the first one I turn to when I want a quick CJ fix! Considering it made me cringe the first time I saw it, I have come a long way since then! Like you, I am in it for the long haul. Absolutely no sign whatsoever of decompression. I don't even want it, truth be told.

I guess the majority of us on here now are the real hardcore. I can't believe we are still going so strong ten or so weeks since the end of the series. Does anyone know what happened to NappyValley?

I think my inventory of OG/CJ items is pretty miniscule compared with some of you:

Original Our Girl one off DVD (currently on loan to my Bailbrook House partner in crime)
OG series DVD
Stag pants Sainsburys
Stag pants Tesco (minus bell, my washer was on the blink and I didn't want the bell to hurry its demise, but it blew up about three days later anyway)
Some gorgeous pictures, including the one on my phone screensaver.

Could I possibly include my stay at Bailbrook House as part of this inventory?

Loving the Involved fanfic by the way. It would make a lovely second series! Do you think she is amongst us, a lurker maybe?

Ilovelblue · 28/12/2014 23:04

monopod glad we were of some help to you. Hope you start to feel better. xx

On a totally separate note, is this the dress Molly wore to the restaurant? If so, it's currently in the Reiss sale.

orphan · 28/12/2014 23:12

So sorry monopod somehow, i missed your post. Massive virtual hug to you too and I'm so glad that in some small way this thread has been of help. Would be lovely if you still checked in now and again; I have a feeling the CJ Collective will be here for some time to come...!

orphan · 28/12/2014 23:23

ilove I too love the restaurant scene as it has all the CJ mannerisms I adore, plus the sexual tension is great! The cabbage/napkin bit is one of my fave CJ moments as well. However, now I've got the dvd I'm trying to watch it all in sequence to get a real feel for the story again, and not just go straight to the best bits. Since I've only just found time to watch ep 1 today, it could be a while before I get to the restaurant scene unfortunately!

I'm so envious of your stay at Bailbrook. You do realise you'll have to give us all a complete blow by blow account of your stay. (No innuendo intended as unfortunately CJ won't be with you![wink)

galaxy99 · 28/12/2014 23:33

Sorry to hear you have been having a tough time monopod and pixie.

I am off to cherin's neck of the woods tomorrow, no WiFi and due to data charges all comms are going to have to be switched off. I am going to have serious withdrawal symptoms but will check in when I can. Have realised now that one bad thing about OG obsession is that I haven't studied any Italian for months. I was wondering cherin are there any OGisms that you could translate for me? I could see if I could pop any into the conversation!!

orphan · 28/12/2014 23:41

spo you've made my day! (And cjwoof's as well I'm sure) Fireside wrestling!!! I'm not sure if you intended it, or whether my exposure to QS has corrupted me, but I did feel a bit heated when you wrote about CJ moving his hand to where his antidote wand lay... Blush

Ilovelblue · 29/12/2014 00:02

orphan will be delighted to do a full report on Bailbrook House though we are only there overnight and will be staying near Stow on the Wold after that for a couple of nights (it was too expensive to stay there for all three nights). I am also taking the opportunity to meet up with my godson on the Monday lunchtime, leaving my friend to her shopping extravaganza, so my intention is to go straight up to the Royal Crescent and Circle for photo opportunities before having lunch with my godson who has recently moved to the area. I am still not 100% convinced of my friend's total obsession with CJ and may have to play it carefully when begging enquiring of the reception staff for full details of the filming etc. She did give me the little CJ Action Man-type figure though as a joke in with my Christmas present.

It would be like all my birthdays and Christmases together should BA actually be at the hotel at the same time. Just imagine it! Hahaha. I'd never be quite so lucky though.

icemistOBE · 29/12/2014 06:35

Work today ugh! So need some cheering up. Should be busy though.
iloveblue I would definitely include Bailborough as part of the collection!
Checking tesco this morning for the stag pyjamasSmile
Is anyone still a member of the FB group? TG has agreed to do a q'n'a with them !

Ooooh icemist as IT Director and head girl, could you not persuade TG to do a Q&A on here as well? I am sure we have done far more for OG than that Facebook lot - well, we are (generally) far more expressive than the "When are you doing another series?" I suppose the thing about FB is that it is more widely known/used.

I have both Tesco and Sainsburys nearby. Both seem to have sold out of their stag pants though there were still a few of the matching bras in Saisnburys.

I notice there are quite a few new chapters of various ff popping up. Some of them seem to have been written whilst OG was still showing or just afterwards and the writers have gone back now and updated them. Mixed quality I feel. My favourites (other than Pixie's, SPO's and the CJ Collective ones naturally) are Laurielove, klipdoctor and the one which has got us hot under the collar recently by jenmc. What do you all think?

cherin · 29/12/2014 08:57

galaxy I don't think Italians are that good at focusing up and giving 100%...unless food is involved :-)
(You could say "Dig in" to invite someone to eat -not that it's usually needed- and I'd say "dàteci sotto", the accent on the a is just for clarity)
:-)
Where are you headed? I am not actually in Italy now (at in law's) but will drive back tomorrow. There was a bit of snow yesterday, and it was veeeeeery foggy in the north east.

Ilovelblue · 29/12/2014 09:05

Just catching up on some of the weekend papers. Bit late I know! An interesting article in Saturday's Telegraph which said "BBC to lure new viewers with ban on period drama". Then it said "... its most popular dramas include the gritty Happy Valley and The Missing, with a focus on appealing to viewers from all walks of socieity with edgy risk taking plot lines." I had hoped to see OG in there as I thought it would have fitted into those descriptions. It made me smile though about the use of "lure" as it made me think of the restaurant scene in Bath when CJ says his parents are away and MD laughs and says it's as if he's trying to lure her back etc etc.

Richtea19 · 29/12/2014 09:45

Morning all, I missed out on a bit last night.

monopod sorry that you are having a bad time too, but we are all here for you. I certainly go through waves of ups and downs, it maybe hormones? Everything is changing...

Ilove I haven't heard from NVM for a while. We emailed before Christmas , but I must get back in touch. I wish she would come back to us as she always wrote so profoundly and was funny too! Re. Your Bailbrook house, I almost feel we are all going with you! I am excited too. I can't wait to see your photos and see if you can dig any gossip from staff!

SPO abother fantastic FF, the wrestling was very funny. No wonder I can't seem to pick up a book at the moment, there's too much to read online.

Just going back to the resturant scene, and I knownwe have conveyed I depth all of this probably thread 2 or 3, however for me it is the way they look at each other and the way they speak. It's different, non scripted as if no one else is there. Bloody good actors or there is chemistry!

icemist great photos this morning, and it would be good if we could get TG on here! DH back at work today, not officially as not due back until Friday, but I think he just wants to escape.... I am heading off to the gym which will hurt I know. I am thinking of asking for some personal training in the new year.. So I thought I would check out the most appealing one.. Lush Wink

Nickel45 · 29/12/2014 10:00

Morning all. I went to bed with a cracking headache last night, and didnt check in, and feel like I've missed lots!

icemist, hope you have a quiet day at work. Bummer having to work between Christmas and new year. The number of hits on your YouTube clip is amazing .... It can't all be just us!!

That's quite cool that TG is doing a Q&A with the FB lot. Do you think he knows about us? What sort of questions are they asking? Bet there's nothing about zombies, or who they would like to see fireside wrestling in series 2 .. Hee hee, wonder what TG would make of that!?! Is TG in the FB group?

mono glad you enjoyed our rambling, pop back in and see us sometime let us know how you are doing ... Pretty sure well still be here (I hope!)

ilove I cringed at the restaurant scene too, first time, and have to admit (ducks for cover) it still isn't my favourite ... I much prefer the low slung combats CJ, although the chemistry between CJ and Molly is brilliant. (I think that dress is the one, btw). When are you off to Bailbrook House! Think I make you right about the ff, I like Bonfire Heart too :)

SPO yet again, a brilliant chapter, love the fireside wrestling (wasn't it supposed to be naked?!?). I'm loving this story, I have no idea how you do it... Didn't you say you have never written before? If so, then you've absolutely nailed it now!! Please come back to us when you have more time though, missing you on here.

rhubarb so lovely for you to live near Bath :) when they film the Christmas in Bath scenes, we'll all be over to see you.

Right, best crack on! DH looking after the kids got a while so I can unpack, get the washing on, blah, blah, blah (well, that's what he thinks ....!!!)

cjwoofwoof · 29/12/2014 13:07

Ooh Ooh what have I missed? Fireside wrestling? More ff? RL is really getting in the way of my parallel universe at the moment. I'm not enjoying the enforced decompression whilst the kids are at home thats for sure. Thank goodness for some QS ff and SPO's updated chapters. Still need to read his latest offering but the sound of wrestling has brightened my day already. Watched the recommended Bluestone 42 Christmas special and it's really quite funny considering I didn't know any of the characters, and the set does look like something left over from OG. Theres even some CJ poses from Rupert CO - almost like a parody of OG really which is quite amusing.

orphan · 29/12/2014 14:59

Yes nickel to be strictly authentic the wrestling should be totally naked, but spo did have tops removed. Maybe he's written another version especially for the M rating...Wink

Richtea19 · 29/12/2014 15:42

Well I survived the gym, body combat and body pump.. Aching muscles tomorrow, me thinks. I asked about the personal training, shocked how much they charge!! And to be honest if one of the boys looked like CJ I would of paid, but based on what I saw I think I won't bother!!

I braved our local town to look in the sales. Nothing much but I did manage to find a coat in zara, one of those down puffy ones and less than half price! At least if the snow does arrive I will be toasty warm.

I have a nice quiet house for a few hours so I am going to catch up on some FF and possibly watch episode 1. I like your idea orphan of watching from the beginning without fast forwarding. I do like watching, whilst wearing headphones, you hear so much more. I can't get naked wrestling out my mind!! :)

cjwoofwoof · 29/12/2014 16:01

As long as there's some kind of wrestling Orphan I'm happy with it. The nakedness can occur in my imagination later, or maybe SPO can add another chapter where the zombies accidentally tear off all CJs clothes, along with Kinders', and force them to wrestle each other etc, a bit like Spartacus. Ooh, another one of my pet fantasies subjects...

cherin · 29/12/2014 16:39

I am being forced to lay on the couch by my 3yo, who's piling blankets on me, doilies (plenty in my mil's), combing my hair, telling me to relax, bringing me paper flowers and candles. Starting to worry- it looks like proper burial....;-)

Nickel45 · 29/12/2014 16:57

Hee hee cherin :) if you come back as a zombie, maybe SPO can use you in his ff!! :):):)

Nickel45 · 29/12/2014 16:59

richtea thank you for the tip about iCloud ... How do you put stuff on iCloud? (I'm not vey technical!!!)
